I don’t understand these one star reviews because it’s a portable pump, of course it’s not going to be exactly like the wall pump with all the options. I used this for 18 months with my daughter and I only had to pump about 5 mins longer for the same output as my S1. For size and convenience, it’s amazing. Traveled with me all over the country and couldn’t live without it! If you’re considering it, so it. I love it’s the same flange etc as the wall spectra and has a great battery life!

This is the worst breast pump I’ve ever used. I received it through my insurance (which is the only saving grace) and it seemed to work well at first. Well around 3 months post-partum I went from pumping 6-9oz total to around 2-3 max if I was lucky. I thought my milk supply was depleting and I was super worried. I replaced all of the parts and that didn’t help. Then my friend offered her old Medela to borrow and I gave that a shot. Wow, night and day difference. I’m at 6 months post-partum and finally have a milk supply built up. I pump 8-10 oz at a time and do it in way shorter period than the Spectra’s 30 min cycle. I would likely not be breast feeding any longer if it wasn’t for my Medela. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for a pump. Hospital grade at first, but within months becomes a worse grade than any Willow or discreet pump.

I have mixed feelings about this pump. I LOVE the design and concept of it! I also love that you don’t need to completely more supplies if you already have spectra products (eg: spectra S1 or S2) you get some flanges with all spectra pumps so it’s like getting an extra pair! I rotate my flanges and pumps parts when my others parts are getting cleaned and sanitized. The suction is a bit weaker versus my S2 plus. I guess I expected a good suction like the S2 since it’s the same company that makes hospital grade pumps, that’s my mistake. If you’re looking into this pump thinking it will be the same suction power as the wall plug-in than you should know it doesn’t.

Perfect if you have spectra s1 or s2 & are tired of being attached to the wall/sitting while pumping. I exclusively pump and waiting on the couch & pumping while having a million other things to do was driving me craaazy! I wish this was marketed more because it would have been super helpful earlier on. With this pump you can throw on a nice tight pumping bra & carry on with taking care of the home & your baby while making milk. Obviously you can’t just bend over completely but you can get by much better versus the traditional pump. It’s especially great if you already have another spectra model because you’ll already have the accessories so you’re not washing and having a ton of different little parts in your house. At first I was weary and thought it wasn’t emptying my breasts as well as my S2 but I kept at it and I literally haven’t used my S2 since. One of the best mommy purchases I’ve made. Highly recommend for ladies who want to pump and multitask while doing so. One recommendation I have for spectra is to add a clip or some feature that can keep the pump on you. When I don’t have pants with pockets its less convenient
I’m an exclusive pumper- I like the control of it, I like the extra stash I have in the freezer. I absolutely 100 percent get the pump fatigue though and it’s not always perceivable to get out ANNND get your pumps in. The S9 is a very good PORTABLE pump. I just got it today and it’s impressive. The size and weight alone is amazing. My standard pump is the S1. I wear it on a Fanny pack carrier- the pump is a beast but it’s weight and size also reflect that. Long story short is that the S9 will never replace my S1. In fact, I pumped with the S9 until I couldn’t get more out- and then got an additional 3 ounces with my S1. That being said- I got caracups. I’ll be getting out more and I LOVE the S9 as an “ON THE GO” option. I’ll be getting out more and I LOVE the S9 as an “ON THE GO” option. The purchase for me, the freedom to carry less and still be able to pump, is worth it. Side note: The S9 pumps totally differently- so I could see it being better for some people and worse for others. It’s more of a slow, deeper, drawn out pump opposed to the quick powerful pump of the S1. Hope it helps!
I love having this pump! It has made returning to work so much easier! I can pump anywhere. I even pump when I’m in the car (as a passenger). I was hoping I’d have a good experience with it, being that I’ve had no complaints for the S2. The only thing I wish this pump had is a clip so I can clip it to my clothes. Right now I just tuck it in my waistband or bra strap and move around the house when I need to pump and be mobile to multitask. Overall, I love it!
I've already got the standard Spectra so I knew I liked the brand. When I noticed a "Portable" version I knew I would benefit from it. It also has the 1 or 2 pump option which is great when I have baby feeding on one side and am still able to pump on the other. All of the parts work for both my standard machine and this one unlike some competitor brands and different models. I would buy this pump over and over again if I needed to. The charge also last up to 4-30 min. sessions from what I gather. I think it could go for a 5th but I haven't tried that yet.
I definitely can say I like this pump. I have the spectra s2 and really needed something to give me my freedom back. The output seems to be just as good as my s2. It holds a charge pretty well. I can get multiple sessions out of one charge. It is louder than my s2. The motor sounds like it’s working harder. The speed isn’t adjustable but it hasn’t made much of a difference for me. I don’t know if I would love it as my primary pump, I’ve only had it a week, but so far I’m usually reaching for this over my s2. I do wish it had some sort of a clip to attach it to your pants but I try and tuck it into my leggings or I’ll grab a fanny pack.
I really loved this pump at first, it worked just as well as my plug in spectra so I used it all the time on the go while driving. Now that I’ve been using it for a few months it’s like it’s lost all suction. I get half the amount of milk, if not less, than I do when I use my plug in spectra. Super disappointed that I spent almost 200$ and only for a few months use out of it. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
I'm not sure why all the bad reviews I almost returned it without trying but gave it a try using my parts from my s1 before returning! and I also love it! so easy and so small you can bring it anywhere and it doesn't take up space. the charge holds for a very long time I haven't charged it in over 2 days. it empties me out in about 15-20 minutes. the suction is strong. the only thing I think that isn't as strong is the massage mode but that's okay. I use this pump for work. will use it also for when I go on vacation etc.
