Well packaged and no smell. Sports Research has an area in their website where you can input the lot # of your bottle and you can find its lab tests of that batch, which is very useful. The Astaxanthin they use comes from Iceland from microalgae. This is good since it's a very pure form with little contaminants. I personally use this product for overall skin and eye health - it helps with sun exposure (but you still need sunscreen) and I've found this product to also help with tired, dry eyes after a long session at the computer. The amount of softgels you get versus the price is a pretty good value, and taking just 1 softgel with a meal is very convenient. Highly recommended.

I bought this at the recommendation of a friend who stated it works for joint and muscle aches. He used to sell supplements and he said he only believes in a couple. Astaxanthin (specifically Sport Research) being one of them. He told me the astaxanthin would take about a month to kick in. I took 12mg a day for three weeks. Then like some mystical magic, my eyesight changed. Everything seemed brighter and crisper. I told my friend who recommended astaxanthin, and he said better eyesight was a side effect (at the time I started taking these, the company did not make any claim to better eyesight). More importantly, my knee pain seemed to lessen over time and the creaking noise they made disappeared. I definitely recommend these to everyone I know. Buy one bottle and in two months nothing happens, you're out a few dollars. Plus side, your joints are better and your eyesight improves.

Astaxanthin has excellent benefits for eye-strain due to screen time. I take a different eye health combo, which comes up a little short on this ingredient. This small size vegetarian soft gel is an easy add-on. Since starting it, I have definitely noticed an improvement.

Great antioxidant. I've been taking Astaxanthin on and off for a few years now. I like the supplement itself, but I hate the new packaging/bottle. Dispensing only one capsule while avoiding accidentally spilling the rest, requires quite a lot of skill. The new bottle may be esthetically more pleasing but it's a nightmare to use. Just go back to the old type of bottle.
When I upped my mg from 6 mg to 12 & to now 24 mg per day I saw a tremendous impact to my skin. The pores on my 70 yr old face shrunk! The skin on my entire body & face became smoother. A callous on my big toe disappeared. In the future, I hope it corrects the fine sleep lines on my cheeks & eye wrinkles. I wear sunscreen & I no longer purposely suntan. I do consume soy isoflavones. I saw this specific product recommended on Go See Christy on Facebook. And someone recommended initially consuming a high dose, if you can afford it. I suppose one's body has to be saturated with Astaxanthin before one sees dramatic results. I read that it's safe to take up to 40 mg per day for 12 weeks. Your mileage may vary. But I'm extremely happy with the results.
