A good strong tool box with a strong handle, and removable insert tray, also the Stanley Essentials 9"Organiser storage boxes fit nicely in the bottom of the tool box. For today's standards this really is a robust waterproof toolbox.

Excellent toolbox. Very sturdy and pretty heavy too. Especially when filled!I am a Landscaper so it gets some serious abuse and is outside all the time in all the elements. I can tell you it is waterproof! It fits 2 of my 600mm (2ft) box beam levels as well as handsaws, rubber mallets quick grips etc etc all really easily. The top tray is nice and deep. Plenty deep enough for torpedo levels and tape measures etc.The latches can be a little fiddly at times. But I've found this is because of the water seal on the lid. A firm handpress down on top of the lid and the clips fasten really easily. The only 1 small downside for me is I would've probably liked a full length tray on top and some sort organiser system for screwdrivers etc inside.Other than that. The toolbox is very sturdy with strong hinges, catches and a strong handle, so I am confident that nothing will snap when I am carrying it. The tray doesn't cover the entire length of the toolbox. At first I thought this would be a disadvantage, but I like being able to reach some of my larger tools without having to remove the tray. It is a large toolbox, with lots of space, and I have pretty much filled mine. It weighs 22kg.It's up to you to see if you can lift that with one arm and carry it by your side, and fortunately I can, with some mild discomfort in my obliques (at least now I know I need to do more core work ;))The water seal is the reason for the 4 star rating. I haven't tested it, but I am confident that if it rains, or a car drives through a puddle ... MoreThe toolbox is very sturdy with strong hinges, catches and a strong handle, so I am confident that nothing will snap when I am carrying it. I haven't tested it, but I am confident that if it rains, or a car drives through a puddle when I am walking down the road, no water will damage my tools inside. The problem with the seal, which may be a problem specific to this particular one, is that it doesn't line up with the ridge on bottom part of the toolbox. In fact, it's actually 5mm larger on the top than the bottom. I resorted to measuring it after I couldn't close it and checked for something blocking it e.t.c.I think that filling it has caused the base to narrow slightly, but after a few days of it being closed with the tools in it, it shuts on the first attempt now and the water seal lines up on the front, but not the back corners.Overall a great toolbox, just be prepared to wiggle the seal into position the first few times you use it.

Wanted to get a bigger tool box to put in my larg-ish hammers, tools and anything else that doesn't fit in my "normal" toolbox i use. This thing is huge!I chucked in everything and more to it and it still feels like there's room. The tray is like half the width of the box and is quite useful but feel it can be better by having more compartments but that's just me being picky!Nice touch on the lid being multi-functional but i don't know if i will use it but useful to have.
Very well constructed and waterproof. I can use it as a saw table and even as use as a stool, its that strong. Great carrying handle and the tray inside is just perfect. Plenty of room inside even for a medium spirit level and saws. The fasteners are very strong and precise, highly recommended this tool box as I need to keep my joiners and other tools in good condition.
This Company certainly came up with the goods. I had looked for a decent waterproof toolbox having previously lost tools in a flood they were written off as contaminated. It had taken years to accumulate a decent collection and had to start again. I sought a decent toolbox the answer was the FatMax waterproof. The ones I looked at were either too expensive or did not meet the requirements. I found Toolstation online and ordered exactly the toolbox I was looking for. It was delivered the following day in good order, the price was great and the product good quality. I would highly recommend Toolstation and will certainly use them again.
My last identical toolbox broke after multiple years of service. It had been drilled through, sawn through, splattered with paints, plaster, fillers, sealants and caulks. It was even string enough as an extra step up whenever I wasn't tall enough.I was delighted to see that the same model was still available, and at the price is amazing, considering the weight it carries and withsands and the abuse it takes. Thanks Stanley.
Good, solid tool box. Waterproof, resilient and holds a lot of tools, very strong, can also be used as a step and work bench. Given that it was also reduced in price, cannot fault this purchase. Good service from the staff at Screwfix, as always.
Had this box for 6 months + and can say it is a really good toolbox for the money. Very sturdy and not at all flimsy. Hinges seem good on lid and look like they'll take a lot of wear. Front clasps can sometimes be a little awkward although seem heavy duty enough and nothing to be concerned about. Useful that you can stick a padlock on him to keep the tools safe inside from opportunists.
Larger vesion of the fatmax 23" toolbox. I use the 23" toolboxes all the time, I have five of them and they have been in constant use for five/six years without any failures. They are the best toolboxes I have come across by far. Only poor feature is the shallow tray, flimsy and things fall out of it all the time. I usually leave them behind on the counter when I buy the toolbox! Bought this larger sized one as it will hold a standard length hand saw, but be careful to get the size you need, the 22 inch one is pretty heavy to carry about when full of tools. This size would be very heavy, for me, too heavy when full of ordinary hand tools- screwdrivers grips chisels plane etc. The V groove on the lid is useful for holding pipes, battens etc. when sawing or working on ... MoreLarger vesion of the fatmax 23" toolbox. The hinges and catches work reliably and I have had no failures. The handle has come unclipped when dragging a heavy tool box from the back of the van but not a problem in ordinary use, has never let me down when carrying the box The flat tops mean they stack well. - Quite expensive unless you can buy when they are on offer.
