Ok, so the dimensions are specified. However, I was replacing my old Focus 23" box and ordered this FatMax of a supposedly similar size. It turned out to be quite cramped in comparison - the volume is not great, and the absence of organisers on the lid is mean. I would have preferred these to the rather pointless groove. The inner tray is flimsy, though the over-all construction seems robust and will probably last well - the 4 stars on these parameters are therefore a guess. If I could get a direct replacement for the old Focus box - c.w. substantial inner tray, bow front (which makes a big difference in capacity) and good organisers on the lid, I would do so. As it is, I'm returning this and looking elsewhere.

Very good indeed. Bigger than I was expecting from the dimensions in the description but not too big, just right for my needs. Exceptionally sturdy construction with heavy duty snapping fasteners. Water-resistant seal, removable tray and several other great features.Unbeatable value!Screwfix team great as well, very helpful and friendly as always at my Huyton local branch.

Purchased this as I was fed up with my tool bag not staying open and closing on itself all the time.Looked at quite a few boxes before choosing this one and my main concern was finding something that's going to last and is also durable. The material this box is made from is not flimsy and feels solid but has enough flex not to break easily. The weatherproof seal is an excellent idea and as other reviewers have mentioned the clasps feel solid and seem like they will withstand the test of time.Big enough to fit all my tools and drill in still with some space, in a way I wish I'd bought the 28" version but having seen that in other hardware stores it's quit a lot bigger so do think before you purchase. Can't fault it for the price and I am confident it will last ... Excellent tool box. The waterproof gasket keeps everything dry inside while the solid construction makes it very robust.I only ever use these boxes now. There is enough room inside for a comprehensive selection of tools and the tote tray holds the smaller stuff just inside the lid.I have one that is about 3 years old now. It's been stood on, cut on (using the groove to hold pipes etc), it's been rained on and bounced around the back of a van. The only problem is that one of the catches sometimes falls out of the plastic moulding. I think it's been bashed and maybe that's why is fell out originally.Overall I'd buy this again and again
I had the larger version of this toolbox for a couple of years with zero problems. Only retired it as I didn't need so much space anymore and I had broken one of the clasps (my fault, not the box). So I decided to buy this smaller version. At first it was perfect, Just the right size, etc. Then one day I had some equipment to wire up and it was one of those where it is just the wrong height for standing or kneeling. 'I'll sit on my box', afterall, I sat many an hour on the bigger one and stood on it plenty of times too. Well........ The lid split, from the edge of the handle to the front of box. Not very structural and now not very water tight. Now I'm not a skinny guy, but I'm not 'BIG' either. Screwfix happily replaced the box (thanks). Was uber careful this ... Was uber careful this time, but again I sat on it and it split. This time from both sides of handle. Very poor to be honest. I still have the bigger one in the garage so I sat on that to see if I had indeed put a few more pounds on.....Not a problem. Not impressed at all with this item.
I bought this toolbox so that I can have all my tools that I use most often all in the one place. I found that I spent more time looking for tools when doing a particular job. This toolbox has been built to take knocks and bumps and can hold quite a large number of tools. The two lock clamps are very strong and take a fair bit of strength to unlock the lid (fishermen take note ) . The lid has also a very tight water seal right round the full edge of the lid to seal it down when the clamps are closed down tight. The very robust clamps also have holes to place a padlock on so that nobody can open the clamps. A great toolbox that also has a tray for the smaller items you may need.
My last identical toolbox broke after multiple years of service. It had been drilled through, sawn through, splattered with paints, plaster, fillers, sealants and caulks. It was even string enough as an extra step up whenever I wasn't tall enough.I was delighted to see that the same model was still available, and at the price is amazing, considering the weight it carries and withsands and the abuse it takes. Thanks Stanley.
Needed a new toolbox as stood on my last one and it broke. Chose this one as it looked strong enough to stand on and it does support my 16 stone. No real extras apart from an internal removable tray.Had to utilise my own small boxes to store screws and small bits so I would have liked the Fatmax to have come with another tray with compartments with clear lids.Appears to by waterproof but I don't intend to get it wet. You can lock it with your own padlock/s so the kids don't gain access.Overall, pleased with it as it can hold a lot and looks like it will last years.
When I say this is my second one I do not mean the other has broken. I simply mean I have had the larger one for a few years now and even as I type this it is still going strong.Very sturdy and fit for all types of work/trade.It is as it says waterproof. You can indeed use the groove to support materials when cutting. And again, as of writing this I have just got back from a job where I forgot my step ladders....no problem...I used the box to stand on.If I have any niggle it is with the locking clasps. They can, and indeed do catch when opening/closing.Maybe a little more care in the engineering of this part would fix the problem. But overall very pleased to use and now I have a second smaller one for electrical items/tool.
Excellent toolbox. Already have the larger size of this box and needed another for smaller bits. Had the first one for years and this one seems to be up to the same standards! Watertight. Hard wearing. Practical.Makes a good little hop up also!
