The Stanley Intelli Tools Stud Sensor 300 uses OnePass centre-find technology to locate edges of studs joists or live AC wires through drywall or other common building materials. Once the edge of the stud has been detected the Stud Sensor 300 displays red LEDaposs and sounds an audible tone. It has a V-shaped marking channel with an LED that allows for accurate marking. It can perform a deep metal scan of up to 75mm 3in. The sesnsor has a backlit LCD screen that is ideal for low light conditions and an ergonomic design with soft grip to ensure comfortable use. Would give 0 stars if allowed. Way too sensitive to AC / Electrical. Can not easily switch off this feature. Beeps far too much and is confusing as heck. Finds stud in only 1/3 attempts. (Yes, my newly painted walls are now full of holes that need filling.) It is not just me, my tradesman husband has the same issues with this machine.Spend less and get something simpler which will do the job.

I don't believe in my 42 years on this planet have I used a product so grossly incapable of doing what it is built to do. The instructions are unclear, the operation is just lights and buzzers all over the place, and it not even once detected anything close to a stud. The only thing it provided was frustration, followed by disbelief, and laughter at how bad it is. DO. NOT. BUY.

Worst piece of equipment ever. I read instructions and it watched you tube demonstration but still kept on giving me false reading. When it does locate a stud, you mark it, switch it off then turn it back on again, calibrate it and go back to where the mark is and it doesn’t detect a stud. I felt like I was robbed as this unit doesn’t perform according to what it say it does. DO NOT BUY IT.

Bought it 2 days ago without research, wanted a Ryobi but didn't have one in stock so this one had similar specs so got it. Operational - didn't like having to hold in a button all the time to make it, if you lost any pressure for a slight millisecond it would re-boot/calibrate. That's not the worst of it, false readings for studs or no readings when I knew it was over a stud, frustrating to say the least but by the end my wall looked like it was peppered with buck shot. Now to the worst aspect, almost anywhere I placed it would light up to say AC detected, at one stage the the are was almost a meter wide making finding studs impossible. Complete Garbage! Very poor product with consistent reviews of people stating the same thing, honestly chucking it in the bin. It's so bad, I wonder how the people that like this product live because it is very very useless, triple check, quadruple check and you still don't have confidence. Again it so bad, buy it and find out for yourself. 0 stars
Impulse buy, wish I'd read the reviews.I've used it to find 5 studs and it has missed 3 out of 5 times. So got it right 2 times. Hence 2 stars.If you don't mind perforating your walls until you find the stud, you should def use this tool.Actually, flipping a coin on where the stud might be is statistically a better bet.
I bought this without reading the reviews. Big mistake. This is a piece of rubbish. So inaccurate, cannot pick up a stud accurately and it reckons my walls have AC cables running all over them.I had already marked out the studs on my wall with my old stud finder, then it broke. Bought this and ran it over the same wall. Maybe the studs moved, but then again I think maybe this stud finder is useless.
Sorry I never read the reviews before buying as can confirm this product is crap. Gives false positives, doesn't accurately find centre. Constantly needs to be recalibrated. Only helps confirm a stud is there after roughly finding it via measurement which defeats the purpose.
I returned this item as it didn't work in my opinion.The replacement I was given by Bunnings failed also.I have no confidence in this product, it simply doesn't work.Bunnings should not stock this item.My bad experience with this stud detector has changed my loyalty to Stanley products.I have a Stanley Hobby plane, still in good use, which was a gift for my 18th birthday.I turned 68 this year.
Bought this a while agoIt doesnt workDoesnt detect anything.Absolutely uselessSo we bought a second one thinking the first was faultyIt wasnt faulty. Just uselessBoth failed at detecting any studs while my mates stud finder found the studs perfectly
