On the plus sides this planer has a very straight "grating" edge, is reasonably solid for being made out of plastic and does leave a good smooth finish.I can only image this tool has a very specific function in which it performs well, but I don't know what that function is. I've tried this on a number of materials including hard and soft woods, along and against the grain. It does take off wood, but incredibly slowly (to plane a 3mm thick piece of pine down by a millimeter expect to be at it for at least 10 minutes). Sandpaper is a much quicker way to go.It does however do an excellent job of taking off dried gorilla glue... but that's the only use I've found for it.

I bought this to trim the doors in my room after laying down new flooring. I wish I had just bought an electric one. This required a lot of effort and wasn’t that effective
It snapped on first use. Nothing more to add, apart from avoid buying.
Not exactly what I was after and too hard to use. Gave it to the grandson to play with.
Bought this to level off some floorboards, and it did a great job with minimum elbow grease.
Very robust construction . Makes light work of shaving wood with a very good blade .
