StarTech 6in USB Gen 1 USB C to USB A Adapter

After scouring the web for hours, looking at reviews for a usb c to a adapter, I stumbled across this one.Many of the reviews indicated poor construction which lead to destruction of the adapter after a couple of uses. This is not the case with this one. I am able to interface with my hard drives on a daily basis from my tablet and get ridiculous read speeds. The construction is sloid and it look sleek as.My only downside is that its not a couple of centimeter longer as the usb c port on my tablet is quite high.Except from that, hallelujah, thanks PBTech :)10/10 would buy again, Even though I am just a student definitely a must have

Great Little Substitute for Laptops with No USB Adapter

Only used this adapter for a short while but everything seems okay. It's small and doesn't get in the way, especially great since some of the newer laptops that don't come a USB port at all. I use it with my USB 2.0 mouse receiver. Everything seems to work fine together.

It works in general. Tried to use the one with AC powered devices without problems, but found it's not so good with USB 3.0 powered hub. Not sure what's wrong with it. Found the mismatch of design with public shared image. It's not the same. So it's not excellent, but good enough.

Happy with my purchase. Good quality, good price. I needed this to connect a piece of hardware that other cheap versions from unknown brand did not work with. Would recommend

Simple Product, Works Great

Perfect to connect USB-A devices to my MacBook without needing a bulky port replicator or USB hub. I use this cable on the colorimeter for calibrating my monitor and it works great!

Sturdy and does the job.

The cable isn't too long and I felt it's just the right amount. Very portable and easily connects USB peripherals to my android phone. I've tested USB headsets, USB microphone and portable HDD. Everything worked as expected.

This adapter does exactly what it's designed to do and that's more impressive than it sounds. I've bought many cables and adapters for USB 3.1 Gen 1 that don't. I'm sticking with StarTech going forward.

Useful adaptor to have around.

New laptops often come with only 2 USB-A ports (the common type) . The 3rd port is replaced by the new C-type USB 3.1. This adaptor gives you back the 3rd port you lost until your peripherals are replaced with the new connector type. Seems to work perfectly on my laptop with high speed transfers. Cable is a little stiff. 2 year warranty.

Works Great

So far has worked great for me. I've mostly used it to connect simple accessories to my MacBook Pro, like a keyboard or microphone. I haven't tested it with an external hard drive, for example, so I can't comment on its throughput. For the basics though, it's been solid. Feels pretty well built, if a little stiff (but that may make it prove to be durable). Overall happy.

Works as intended

With many current computers having migrated to USB C ports and having few or no USB A ports available but many accessories retaining the USB A plugs it's well to have one or two of these handy.
