Excellent external graphics, it bypass the technical bottleneck/limitations that your laptop originally has, you can now freely add up to two more screens as needed, highly recommend for those who needs multiple screens for productivities. The only thing need to pay attention: for MacOS, you would have to download the driver manually, go to StarTech.com search the model number would find the driver. Remember: MacOS has to manually download the drivers, otherwise it won’t work! In total it is easy to use.

This adapter can connect with two external monitors. After downloading drivers from either StarTech or SiliconMotion website, the adapter works quite well, plug and display, and has very smooth 4K video playback! Now I can work with 3 displays~~ Isn't it great? :) It works in macOS and also Windows. Help me improve productivity.

This adapter looks fine initially, but will lock up my W10 system within a day (latest driver). This causes me to lose work and putty connections to other systems. It is irritating and have disconnected this in favor of my lower resolution Display Link capable device that works flawlessly. Too late to return it, so hopefully a driver update fixes the issue. Would not recommend.

Very easy to use, just download and install the software from StarTech website, and plug in the adapter to your laptop. My LCD only has HDMI input, so I use this to connect my LCD to the MacBook Pro and have a second screen. The build quality is pretty good, feels like durable material. Performance is pretty good too, I can watch video and play game on BlueStacks without any slowdown on the system. Overall a solid product and recommend to anyone who needs a second screen on their laptop.

Without any fuss this has enabled an old 2011 macbook to drive external displays! The macbook has a broken AMD discreet graphics card - so it was impossible to use the thunderbolt port to drive external displays. Connecting this adapter to one of the macbook's USB2 port, while running off of the macbook's internal Intel gpu, was the only other option. Even when connected to a USB2 port, and not USB3, this device works perfectly! The macbook automatically installed the display driver when this was plugged in, and a full HD external display sensed the signal via HDMI. The same is true running Windows 10 in bootcamp on the same machine.
