I have a BenQ PD3200Q monitor (love this thing!) that ships with a nice piece of configuration software called Display Pilot (from Portrait Displays, Inc.). I had been using the HDMI input on the monitor because my laptop has no DisplayPorts, but does have one USB-C and one TB3, I just didn't have a TB3 -> DP cable. I was also using another StarTech product (VS421HD4KA 4-Port HDMI Automatic Video Switch) to view my OTB device, NAS display, a Raspberry Pi, etc. and while I would also recommend it if you need it, I found that the Display Pilot software couldn't interface with the monitor fully enough. It could tell what kind of monitor I had, but couldn't display the levels or change color modes and some other things. I opened a ticket with Portrait Displays but I ... MoreI have a BenQ PD3200Q monitor (love this thing!) that ships with a nice piece of configuration software called Display Pilot (from Portrait Displays, Inc.). I only have a DP -> mini-DP cable so it goes TB3->StarTech adapter->miniDP input and since it doesn't go through the HDMI switch, the Display Pilot software works again and I don't have to do settings adjustments with the on-screen menus (which are fine, as well) or the puck that BenQ gives you for hotkeys. I gave it an overall of 4 stars because I wish the ""tail"" on this adapter were either removable or a little bit longer.

I have a DP to dual-link DVI adapter driving a 2560x1440 monitor. This works fine with other DP devices, but it's always been a disaster on Macs. This adapter enables my M1 mac to work at full resolution, 60Hz with this setup. Great product.

This compact adapter allowed me to feed power from a USB-C power supply output to a USB-C port on the windows notebook computer (via a USB-C male-male cable. At the same time it pulls video out of the computer on that same USB-C port and converts it at its HDMI port. I connect that to a KVM switch thar drives an HDMI high res monitor with clear, sharp images.
Works as advertised, but it runs a little hot. Otherwise it seems to allow charging a 2yo MAC and drive a high quality display simultaneously. I would pay a little extra (max $2 more) if this unit could be made to run a little cooler. To the manufacturer: I suggest using more efficient power components to pass power without dissipating so much heat.
works fine using the DP 1.4 cable that came with the G9. i couldn't figure out how to push 120+Hz, so living with 60, but since this setup is mainly for work, it's totally acceptable. getting the full 5120x1440 and HDR experience.
