Doors are excellent! Very easy to install. We purchased the original about 4 years ago and I just replaced them. I have 3 dogs and a cat. The magnet lost it's "mojo" about 6 months in, but my dogs are in and out. It takes the cat a minute to get in and out, which is comical!It lost a star because of the price... Pretty expensive.. I have 2 replace both which is over $80. This day and age, it's pretty pricey. But well I guess it's better than a huge heating bill. I live in Colorado.

Arrived quicker then expected and packaged nicely! Easy to install by myself if you open the door where you can reach both front and back. If it’s your first time replacing the flap pay attention to the clamp. When you unscrew the screws the flap drops out. My clap fell back and I was sitting in the front. I could figure out why the main frame had no screw threads. It came with instructions talking about the clamp but I just didn’t see anything. When I found the clamp all was well.If alone you may notice you’ll have a mark where your existing screws were. I put the screws in all lined up but loosely then lifted up on flap to adjust the vertical/horizontal so magnet lays into position then tightened all down. You can always readjust if needed. I like the pet door and it was easy to install. Unfortunately my 6 month old border collie decided to use the flags for a chew toy. It was not easy to find the insulates middle flap on the website but after a lot of frustration I got all three flaps ordered. It would be nice if there was an option to order them together. I had to fabricate the plastic pieces that sandwiched the flaps because the old ones were broken and the only one that came with the insulated flap was completely different. It actually took me longer to replace the flaps than it did to install the door originally. If I need to replace them again I will probably just order the complete door and replace it. It won't take as long and the complete door doesn't cost much more than the replacement flaps.

The door seems fine, so I think it's a good replacement. Just don't be fooled by the friendly online installation videos, which are for a different design of flap. If you have this design (with several screws at the top), and if you're replacing it in one of those tall panels that screw into a sliding door as I was, installation is a nightmare.The trouble is that the screws mount from the inside. Looks simple, right? When you unscrew them, a narrow plastic bar on the outside, which you didn't know could come off and into which the screws were actually seated, falls off. This plastic bar has no bevels for its holes and it has screw-sized empty slots around the holes to deceive you. (Lost a screw in the floor-level gymnastics involved in this struggle and the kit doesn't include these, so don't do that. Seems a small thing for them to include a liitle packet of extra screws, but really helping customers with this installation doesn't seem to be Petsafe's business ethic.)
We had a wall mount with double flaps in our previous home. It got a lot of wear and tear as we had the size for cats but a Dobie mix and a large Husky used it. Needless to say they tore the flap but that's to be expected. When we moved we chose to go with the panel that fits in the track of the sliding glass door. This one is big enough for everyone and they use it all day long. Thank you for a product that does what it's supposed to, it makes our life easier! Please make the flap in clear, they sometimes hesitate because they don't know what's on the other side. The adventurous ones fly thru like it's not even there, and we've had a crash or two LOL.
After the constant use by five Chihuahuas, our Petsafe "flap" was no longer able to properly seal. I ordered a replacement, which was reasonably priced, and it arrived fairly quick. Installation was simple enough for me, but I build and repair lots of stuff. That said, I doubt anyone would struggle, its five screws, and as long as you pay attention to how the old one comes off, and you put the new one back exactly the same way, you will enjoy great results. It can easily be adjusted for a proper fit. It lasted about 4 years, much longer than whatever brand we had before we bought our new door which came with the Petsafe product pre-installed. A quality pet door, I'm very satisfied and strongly recommend!
Unfortunately this replacement flap does not consistently close completely, but rather may leave a gap or two. . The material is not as heavy as the original flap. The gaps left are big enough for flies and other insects to come inside. The original door was excellent for so many years, so I'm giving three stars instead of just one. I'm really disappointed that the quality is not the same as the original.
I love in area that has mild/ cold winters and hot summers and its on a wall facing west so it gets all the afternoon sun. They have lasted three years with two dogs. I decided to replace them before summer hits and I'm not able to screw them in by myself. I'm alone and need to find someone to come over and help. Also, the plastic bar the flaps are screwed into are cracked in two places and I don't see where I can get those replacement parts. The actual flap is fine though.
Very difficult to replace. The screws I had were not long enough to hold it instructions do not help. I followed them exactly and putting the holding plate in the front gives no way for the screws to attach the are too short and threads do not catch on the outside fixed metal plate. It was rediculous!! I had to find some old screws in my garage that were longer and thicker to catch on the statioary plate fixed on the door. If the screws had been longer with a washer on the other side it may have worked. Instructions wrre inadequate very frustrated!!!
