For me, headphone comfort is #1, sound and functionality come after (in that order). This is the most comfortable headset I have ever owned and second most comfortable headphones. I am not a pro reviewer who tries tens of headsets in a year, but I did test quite a few before deciding on a purchase, Razer Kraken and Nari, something from Corsair, HyperX, and a few others I couldn't be bothered to even remember. These just hit the spot, they feel light on your head, don't crush on your skull/ears. The mic adjust-ability means it doesn't get in my beard, mustache, or mouth when it's out. And while a little warmer than others it's never uncomfortably so (the 5 would probably be even cooler due to the lesser internal components). The sound is quite good, not quite ... MoreFor me, headphone comfort is #1, sound and functionality come after (in that order). The overall functionality of the on-headset controls are also well done, though I would personally prefer the game-vs-voice roller to be a little harder to push, I have accidentally turned game sounds all the way off before, though in the end that is user failure.Build quality feels excellent but that is only something that can be tested over time, also the aluminum band on the top is NOT grip friendly. Not sharp, but almost.Lastly for those who made it this far there is one minor issue. Sometimes, when charging while off, the power indicator will get stuck, turning it off, plugging it back in, and turning it on again while plugged in fixes it, and it's only a minor annoyance to begin with, but I prefer to be as complete as possible in my review.

This headset is well worth the money. Extremely comfortable to wear with the customizable strap and soft cushions. The sound quality is great as well for a wireless headset. The only reason this didn’t get a full 5 stars for me, is I occasionally get disconnect issues where the headset beeps and disconnects randomly. This is typically after long sessions, regardless of battery level, but no firmware update seems to have resolved the issue. This doesn’t happen every time so overall I’m still very pleased after multiple years of use!

I've bought a lot of headphones, but these are my favourite. The ear cups are comfortable and I love the adjustable headband. I find there's great noise cancellation, it's not total, but I'm ok with that. Battery life lasts me about a week? I use it 6 or so hours a day. I not only use these for gaming but also for video editing and audio editing. I did need to tweak the EQ in the steel series app, but that's pretty simple. I don't use the built in mic since it's a bit rough. They're pricey, but absolutely worth it.

Product Quality:8/10Best Feature:ComfortPerformance:Working fineHonest review of the Arctic 7: When testing it with Valorant, I noticed that the bass was initially quite low, especially for gunshot sounds. However, after adjusting the settings using the 'Steelseries GG' software and increasing the bass, it worked like magic and sounded much better. If you're on a budget, this headset is a good choice.Overall, it’s working fine, legit item. Comfy pads. Can be used for gaming and delivery is smooth.

Excellent functionality and features, nothing to complain about!

This is only the third gaming headset I've bought (and the second from SteelSeries) but it's by far the best I've ever used. The wireless functionality is excellent, I can walk 10 metres or more from the transmitter and still have good signal with two walls between me and the source. A feature I especially like is the line-out jack on the transmitter, which means that when the headphones are off, your audio comes out of your speakers as per normal, but the moment your headphones are turned on the sound automatically routes to them. No software, no settings, it just does it, and vice versa when you turn them off. Also, if you walk out of range while wearing the headphones, they reconnect automatically once you walk back within range, excellent. No software, no settings, it just does it, and vice versa when you turn them off. Also, if you walk out of range while wearing the headphones, they reconnect automatically once you walk back within range, excellent. By far my favourite feature though is that there's an LED on the retractable boom mike, which turns red when you have your microphone muted (pushbutton switch at the rear of the left cup). This is an outstanding design feature. Never again will I mute my mic so that I can talk to someone outside the room, then resume gaming and wonder why my teammates aren't answering me. Also worth noting that the LED doesn't light up during normal operation, so don't be worried about distracting lights blinking in your field of vision, that hasn't happened once. Another feature that's very fun is a dial on the right hand cup that can change the balance of audio between VOIP and normal output. So if you're gaming or listening to music while on a skype call, turning the dial can turn down your game/music while leaving the audio from the call unaffected. I found this very useful for listening to music while on a very boring but neccesary skype call with parents, without drowning them out. The comfort is very good, I've worn them for several six hour sessions over the last week and I didn't notice any overheating or discomfort at the end. Nothing to complain of in the sound quality, and battery life is excellent, though I haven't done a stress test yet I've used them two nights in a row without recharging. All in

Great wireless headset
14 April 2021

i've been using the headset for about 3 weeks now and i can say im very happy with it. My only concern has been the joints where the headphones meet the headband as theyre kind of weak looking - but theyre solid and made out of solid material and after having the headset in hand its not much of a concern. The sound quality is great after a little bit if fine tuning in the steelseries eq software that you have to download for the headset. It doesnt sound amazing out of the box with no eq settings but its still passable but with the eq its definitely a LOT better so play around with it and get it to where you like your sound. The mic is a lot better than i had anticipated aswell. I've watched multiple reviews on the headset before deciding to purchase it and was very pleasantly surprised to find out that the mic is loads better than my previous headset mic. (hyper x cloud stinger). Given that is a budget option it makes sense, but i was under the impression wireless headsets compromise the quality of the microphone. Well that seems to be kind of false as this mic is actually very good. The only thing i would suggest is getting a little foam tip pop filter for the mic as S sounds can have a hiss to them from this mic but other than that i would say its pretty flawless. The skimask type headband also surprised me with how comfortable it is its a very comfortable headset and doesnt cause any discomfort over long periods of time. If you have a humungous head then this headset may be hard to fit on your head but the biggest setting fits me comfortably. (6'4" 210 lbs for reference with fairly sizable head). The only knock i can put on this headset is that it doesnt come with an aux cord so you can plug your phone or what have you into the receiver to listen to music while gaming at the same time. The headset also has a game/chat wheel feature which is very nice if you get into clutch moments and need to only hear the game and shut off any discord sounds in the background of loud friends or what have you. Overall this headset is worth the purchase and if youre looking at getting a new wireless headset i would recommend it as it beats headsets in terms of quality at even higher price points than this. Steelseries has done a good job with their headsets and if you get even newer models im sure they'd have improved on what they had already established.PS: Im glad i did research before ordering as the Arctis 9x and the arctis 7 are essentially the same headset but i thought higher number = better headset like a monkey brain. The sole difference is that the 9x is specifically for console whereas the 7 can be used for basically everything (could be wrong) but it works for PC and should have SOME compatibility with consoles but not full capabilities.. But the 9x is specifically FOR xbox. So if you mainly play on PC then dont even look at the 9x model.

One Year, Disappointed.

I bought this headset about a year ago now and at I was super excited as my boyfriend has recommended these to me. I tested them out and everything seemed fine. They are super comfortable, and the sound and mic quality was amazing.MICROPHONE STOPPED WORKING:About 2 months ago, my microphone started making this awful static noise every 30 seconds or so, which was really annoying. I reset the headset and that did nothing, so I shut it off and just charged it. After fully charged, the static noise went away and I thought that was problem solved. HOWEVER, a couple days ago my microphone stopped picking up my voice. I tried EVERYTHING to fix it, reset the headset, adjusted noise sensitivity, reinstalled the steelseries app, etc. but to no avail. The headset stopped wanting to charge unless the cord was in a very specific spot, and the wireless connection was finicky. Sometimes the wireless connection would cut off, and there'd be a loud constant beep from my headphones that I literally had to throw them off of my head because it was so deafening. It did that a couple times, and I'm not sure why.Final notes:I really wanted to like this headset, but I honestly can't recommend it because it's just not worth it. Find something better.

One of the Best Wireless gaming headsets I’ve used
16 April 2020

I have spent thousands of dollars looking for a great wireless gaming headset and this right here is the complete package; a well-made, super-comfy wireless headset with 7.1 surround sound that lets you attach a 3.5mm cable so you can use it with other devices as well. You don't get the surround sound unless you're using a gaming PC, but we all know it's the superior gaming platform anyway. **sniff** It fits snugly on your head with a unique "ski goggle" band, and you can even buy replacements bands with different colors and patterns to customize things a bit. There's no lighting on this headset, which is a shame but that also helps extend it's battery life a little bit longer to 24 hours. All in all, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 has every feature we could ask for in a gaming headset, and it comes wrapped in an understated package that's both sophisticated and comfortable for all-day use. When it comes to wireless gaming headsets, at this reasonable price it really doesn't get any better than this. With the 2019 Edition, SteelSeries further perfected its wireless gaming headset with a thicker ear pads, stiffer on-ear controls, increased bass, and a simplified cable system if you ever decide to go wired

Very Disappointing Headset
12 May 2020

I initially bought this product due to the excellent reviews and variety of features; it would seem that this is the best wireless headset on the market under $200.Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience and the headset did not meet the expectations I had.Comfort: I found this headset very uncomfortable for 3 reasons. Firstly, the strap on top was very tight and squeezed the top of my head; second, my ear would hit the driver (hard plastic inside of the headphone) whenever I wore them. Finally, it comes with mesh ear cups (rather than leather) which don't feel nearly as good. I don't have a very large head to begin with so this comfort failure was not expected. No squeaking or or breakable components but I would have prefered a more premium feel - similar to the HyperX Cloud II headset that I currently own.Sound: Overall, I'd say it's average. Nothing amazing, nothing horrible and there is an EQ in the software which is nice.Wireless Connectivity: Range is great but..... my pair had a latency issue. Nothing the average user would notice (especially with music or videos) but while playing CS:GO, there were a couple milliseconds between me shooting and hearing the weapon sound. This drove me crazy when trying to play the game but wouldn't be a huge issue for most people.
