The mic sounds amazing and clear, according to my teammates in discord; they even said it sounded better than a Razer Nari headset I had a while back, which was an improvement.

Purchsed this headset after my Astro A50's laid to rest after 5 years of use. I was skeptical cause i paid so much for the astros that i didnt know if these or the arctis 9 were the way to go, but i didnt wanna spend big money on a pair anymore and since these were on sale for 150 i was like hmmmmm.. anyways, long story short after downloading "Sonar" which i did have a bit of troubles with, eventually sorting it out by needing to open the install file by right clicking and "open as administrator" otherwise the install would fail after it "unpacked files". Im not super computer savy so this may have been common sense or i dont know i didnt have to ever do this before it was a wild guess to me.After all that and getting to use the GG program i started to have a bit ... MorePurchsed this headset after my Astro A50's laid to rest after 5 years of use. Honestly theres A LOT of presets which is cool but im never satisfied enough with any factory set presets so i adjusted one nicely myself and honestly i used the default setting and slowly adjusted while gaming/listening to music for a happy medium, and the headphones sound great compared to my A50's.They are super fit and comfy, noticeably lighter than a50's, look pretty sleek and build quality is really nice its got a metal band over the top with a tension strap you can adjust to fit over your head for height its got very nice clamping force, ear pads are pretty thick (velour material) and they surely do a nice job of keeping sound quality in, astros needed the mod kit to produce good bass IMO.Mic is retractable from the headset and it pushes back inside with minimal force, mute is a button and the mic tip turns red. Pretty neat idea honestly it doesnt even need to be pulled out for it to work!If youre looking for a nice headset in the mid range id surely recommend these and i would buy these again.

i've been using the headset for about 3 weeks now and i can say im very happy with it. My only concern has been the joints where the headphones meet the headband as theyre kind of weak looking - but theyre solid and made out of solid material and after having the headset in hand its not much of a concern. The sound quality is great after a little bit if fine tuning in the steelseries eq software that you have to download for the headset. It doesnt sound amazing out of the box with no eq settings but its still passable but with the eq its definitely a LOT better so play around with it and get it to where you like your sound. I've watched multiple reviews on the headset before deciding to purchase it and was very pleasantly surprised to find out that the mic is loads better than my previous headset mic. (hyper x cloud stinger). Given that is a budget option it makes sense, but i was under the impression wireless headsets compromise the quality of the microphone. Well that seems to be kind of false as this mic is actually very good. The only thing i would suggest is getting a little foam tip pop filter for the mic as S sounds can have a hiss to them from this mic but other than that i would say its pretty flawless. The skimask type headband also surprised me with how comfortable it is its a very comfortable headset and doesnt cause any discomfort over long periods of time. If you have a humungous head then this headset may be hard to fit on your head but the biggest setting fits me comfortably. (6'4" 210 lbs for reference with fairly sizable head). The only knock i can put on this headset is that it doesnt come with an aux cord so you can plug your phone or what have you into the receiver to listen to music while gaming at the same time. The headset also has a game/chat wheel feature which is very nice if you get into clutch moments and need to only hear the game and shut off any discord sounds in the background of loud friends or what have you. Overall this headset is worth the purchase and if youre looking at getting a new wireless headset i would recommend it as it beats headsets in terms of quality at even higher price points than this. Steelseries has done a good job with their headsets and if you get even newer models im sure they'd have improved on what they had already established. PS: Im glad i did research before ordering as the Arctis 9x and the arctis 7 are essentially the same headset but i thought higher number = better headset like a monkey brain. The sole difference is that the 9x is specifically for console whereas the 7 can be used for basically everything (could be wrong) but it works for PC and should have SOME compatibility with consoles but not full capabilities.. But the 9x is specifically FOR xbox. So if you mainly play on PC then dont even look at the 9x model.

The sound is decent, pairing, etc is a breeze. They're very comfortable headsets as far as that goes, I can wear them for some pretty long sessions. However, this is the second headset that I've replaced; third from Steelseries overall. My last headset kept crackling as if there was interference around after about 6 months. Decided to try and return them to the store via the GSP. Was denied being able to exchange them (So what's the point of it then? Hell, I used to work at Geek Squad and we exchanged them no issue.)Decided to contact Steelseries about it and they wanted to either place a hold on my card for the full amount of the headset or have me destroy them a certain way, take / send pictures and then wait about 2 weeks for a replacement.Really dogwater ... MoreThe sound is decent, pairing, etc is a breeze. Currently the new ones after a few months still hold up quality wise. No interference but they're having a really annoying issue with staying connected. They start unpairing themselves, won't turn on unless the reset button is hit again, etc.Honestly if you want to test your luck, get these. It's really not a bad headset when it works, but after this one dies out; I'm dropping the cash on a better set of gear. Audio-Technicas or Beyerdynamics.
SteelSeries Arctis 7 WirelessI've owned this product for roughly a month and it's been an adventure, to say the least.PROS:Sound is incredible. Extremely comfortable(The most comfortable I've ever worn). Good battery life. Great range. Good quality wireless headset.CONS:Slightly overpriced. The connectivity issues for PC gaming are absolutely mind-boggling. Works great for a day or two and then it's like trying to solve a puzzle. Each time is different. Sometimes you have to switch audio inputs via USB, restart, plug in/unplug wireless dongle, uninstall reinstall SteelSeries software or play around with audio devices on your PC. This headset would be absolutely incredible if connectivity wasn't an issue. It isn't very user friendly and can be extremely frustrating. When it works, the product is absolutely amazing.I wish I would've sprung for the newer HyperX Cloud Alpha.Save yourself a lot of aggravation and go with HyperX.
I really likeThe Steelseries Arctis 7+ which has become my daily driver headset. Great overall wireless headset that is awesome for gaming and streaming music/videos/movies! Wonderful sound comes out of these. On default settings, the equalizer (EQ) is set perfect for the general use of the device. Punchy bass, high treble are both set at the "green zone" for the Arctis, perfect for my preference. In video games such as "Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 (2022)" it is very easy to hear tones of footsteps, gunfire, and voice chat. Movies on the other hand, have the deep lows of a subwoofer and pitching highs of a dedicated "tweeter" speaker. Rewatching Avatar (2009) put the Arctis 7+ on the board for that movie theatre soundstage feeling. I could not have asked for a better EQ out of the box. I preferred watching (hearing) this movie with this headset OVER my expansive 5.1 Dolby surround sound speaker system. The built in microphone output quality is average compared to other brands, but still sounds good in those online chat lobbies! Easy to use software from steelseries, along with BUILT in Discord functionality! VERY COMFORTABLE! The Ski Goggle Band is perfect to fit, and a major upgrade from my previous cup-over-ear headband! Good ear cups are a must for me when considering a new headset, and so happens, the Arctis 7+ cups are just what the doctor ordered! Comfy, ergonomic, and doesn't heat up your ears due to ear cup insulation! Overall, the Steelseries Arctis 7+ Wireless Headphones stands among the rest of the competition, if not, near the top surly! I have already recommended it to friends and family!
I love SteelSeries headsets, I have the Arctis Pro for my PC/Xbox and was using the white Sony Pulse white for my PS5 (black came out RIGHT after I got the white which bummed me out). The pulse is arguably the best headset for the PS5 but after hours of gaming my ears started to hurt. The cooling memory foam of the Arctis series headsets beats regular foam padding all day. Some people complain about the build quality of Arctis headsets - most of those I determine are poor neckbeards that expect things to last 10 years. Bro - if you get three to four years out of a headset you are doing great, Otherwise, quit rage quitting and taking it out on your headsets. The quality is pretty dang good.My only complaint is on max volume there is a slight static sound - I can't ... MoreI love SteelSeries headsets, I have the Arctis Pro for my PC/Xbox and was using the white Sony Pulse white for my PS5 (black came out RIGHT after I got the white which bummed me out). Bro - if you get three to four years out of a headset you are doing great, Otherwise, quit rage quitting and taking it out on your headsets. The quality is pretty dang good.My only complaint is on max volume there is a slight static sound - I can't notice it during gameplay but when it's silent I can def notice it. Other than that these are near perfect. Battery lasts forever and I love the much needed USB-C update. The perfect headset would be the Arctis Pro with USB-C with an all Aluminum frame. The retractable boom mic is perfect. You can easily slide it in/out and it doesn't get in the way - it glows red when it's muted so can easily detect when mute is on/off. The button layout is nice and it's not super cluttered. I like the volume dials instead of volume buttons, makes it much easier when gaming and worth it even when you accidently lower the volume when putting on/taking off the headsets.I think these are priced just right. I don't see the need to pay anything more for a headset, these have all the features you need when playing first person shooters including spacial surround sound and gives you the battery life you need for long gaming sessions. Anything lower than this price range you are going to get what you pay for - or what you don't pay for. With all that said, the cons aren't deal breakers or even bad enough to take a star away from a 5 Star rating but I thought i'd mention them anyways.
Have had this headset for 2 years now and am replacing it with something else.Pros- Battery life is as rated- In-game positioning is goodCons- Wireless connection is spotty from any distance- Range is awful- Audio quality and microphone are middling- Build quality is not made to last- Software is a confusing mess- Low battery warning starts with 5 minutes of battery left- Only one device at a timeI'm finally getting rid of these. I've had consistent issues with audio cutting in and out rapidly (like someone holding down the space bar on a YouTube video), audio dropping and requiring a headphones/PC restart, and random shutoffs of these headphones, with the receiver literally 2.5 feet from the headphones with an unobstructed view of them. On top of this, the overall range from the receiver is maybe 15 feet through one wall, which may not sound like an issue, but is the difference between continuing to talk with friends while grabbing water from the kitchen and hearing the infuriating, consistent "no connection" beep.In terms of audio quality, the surround sound capabilities of these are good - I've never had issues being able to pinpoint where enemies are in Overwatch or COD. Overall sound quality, though, is on the low side of passable. Bass response is non-existent, and the entire sound signature has a thin layer of mud across it. The microphone's also not great; I've been told that my mic sounds worse than a Logitech G432's, a ~$50 headset. This is absolutely unacceptable for the price these go for.My last complaint is the software for these. It's a steaming garbage mess of confusion and required account creation. None of the profiles make a difference to the sound or positioning of in-game audio cues, and is generally confusing to navigate and do anything with. It does come with a nifty two-sound-source...thing in Windows which splits the game audio and voice audio (i.e., Discord) into two separate audio channels that can be controlled separately, but is otherwise not worth any of your time.Long story short- these weren't worth the ~$130 I paid back in 2020, and they're ABSOLUTELY not worth the $170 they are now. YOU WILL REGRET THESE.
tl;dr any sound that comes through this headset on pc sounds as if you we're in a empty room i.e. the sound is very condensed, when tested against a Turtle Beach headset the TB headset outperformed this headset by leaps in bounds especially in game, the SteelSeries GG software isn't meant to be user friendly and this isn't a headset (ON PC AT LEAST) that you're gonna take out of the box and get crystal clear, crisp, breath taking sound.I bought this because I needed headphones that would work with my oculus and that were wireless. I'm moving to a TWS PC set up and a good pair of wireless headphones was the last item on the list. This works great with the Oculus when you're streaming games via air link, both game chat and game sounds come through nice and sound ... Moretl;dr any sound that comes through this headset on pc sounds as if you we're in a empty room i.e. the sound is very condensed, when tested against a Turtle Beach headset the TB headset outperformed this headset by leaps in bounds especially in game, the SteelSeries GG software isn't meant to be user friendly and this isn't a headset (ON PC AT LEAST) that you're gonna take out of the box and get crystal clear, crisp, breath taking sound.I bought this because I needed headphones that would work with my oculus and that were wireless. This works great with the Oculus when you're streaming games via air link, both game chat and game sounds come through nice and sound real crisp.from here on out all comparisons will be made unbiased and judged purely out of what I was supposed to be replacing, a turtle beach headset.where this headset sorely fails is it tries to be a the headphones you can listen to music with, watch the best of the best movies with, AND play games with all in one. It can't be just a gaming headset. You open up SteelSeries GG which is the software that you use to "customize / connect" the headset to your PC and you immediately realize all the customization options mean nothing to you because to a normal human being who just wants to open the box, throw the headset on, and get good quality sound having them mess with configs like sub bass, bass, low mids, mids, mid range, upper mids, and highs just to get desired sound is gonna need a youtube video and an advil for a headache. Not to mention for a GAMING headset SPATIAL AUDIO IS TURNED OFF BY DEFAULT. This is seriously Beats By Steel Series But For Gamers.I wanted to give it a chance so without messing with any configs or presets, I jumped into a game of Hell Let Loose and believe it or don't the turtle beach headset sounded better. So since this is a music based headset I went to Spotify to see how it sounded. The TB headset performed better in Rock & Roll. Instamentals we're clearer and richer. The Arctis sounded like everything was condensed inside of the headphones due to the earcups. The Arctis did a little better in the Pop category. Vocals were richer. The TB headset outperformed the Arctis by a landslide in the Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, AND Jazz / Orchestra. All for their own respected reasons.
setup was pretty easy when done from the adapter, i could not get the headphones to connect via the usb plug.so far very comfortable.requires additional software to maximize the potential of the headphones.sound quality is very good, i would say they are not close to Sennheiser or Audio-Technica, but comparable to Astro headphones. If you're an audiophile there is still much to be desired (then again you wouldn't be buying *gaming headphones* if you're an audiophile.the headphones so far have been very comfortable, the over the ear style provide good comfort, the headphones do allow a lot of back ground audio through. i have no issue hearing my son and his toys in the background as i write this.the pads themselves rotate so you can tilt your headphones back ... Moresetup was pretty easy when done from the adapter, i could not get the headphones to connect via the usb plug.so far very comfortable.requires additional software to maximize the potential of the headphones.sound quality is very good, i would say they are not close to Sennheiser or Audio-Technica, but comparable to Astro headphones.
