I purchased the Arctis Nova Pro for Xbox after watching Youtube reviews stating it was the best one. What I like about this headset is the quality of its build and the clarity of the audio. It pairs to my XBOX series X as soon as it is plugged in and powered on. No settings need to be adjusted on your xbox. It comes with 2 batteries so you never run out of charge as you always have one charging inside the base station. I also like that you can listen to a bluetooth device while playing your game so I can be on a phone call or enjoying my music from my cell phone at the same time. I have used this for work as well due to its compatibility with PC. I've been able to listen to music while participating in zoom meetings. What I did not like was the learning curve to get the best out of it's feature. The documentation included with the headset is not clear on how each button works so I had to research online. For example, it took me a while to get it to turn off completely. Not only do you have to long press the power button but you also have to long press the bluetooth button to turn everything off otherwise the bluetooth will stay on and drain the battery. Short pressing the bluetooth button will pause your media. You have to control the volume from the bluetooth device as the headset volume control only adjusts what's connected to the base station. Also you need to hold down the bluetooth button for at least 6 seconds in order for it to go into pairing mode so you can switch to another device. You will also want to download the sonar software from Steel Series so you can modify the microphone settings so your voice sounds less nasal to others. Wait for it to go on sale so you don't have to pay $300+ for it as well.
I am a bit disappointed in these given the price, but they work well and are good quality. The headset is a bit tighter and less comfortable than the Arctis 7 i had before (I have a large head) and the ear pads are made of a stiffer and less comfortable material than the Arctis 7. I tried some Wicked Cushions ear pads I got from Amazon, and they are a bit better but the headphones are still less comfortable than the Arctis 7. Also, one of the ear pads is constantly coming loose and has to be clicked back in, and clicking them in is a big hassle. The sound quality is good but I personally don't detect any improvement over the Arctis 7, with either games or movies/shows.I was excited by the fact these have two inputs for audio sources, hoping i could easily swap ... Also, one of the ear pads is constantly coming loose and has to be clicked back in, and clicking them in is a big hassle. The sound quality is good but I personally don't detect any improvement over the Arctis 7, with either games or movies/shows.I was excited by the fact these have two inputs for audio sources, hoping i could easily swap between my xbox and ps5, for example, but this feature is a big let down. You can't easily switch between the 2 audio sources: there is no way to do this using the headset itself, and the receiver doesnt have a dedicated button to switch sources: you have to go into receiver's menu, select switch sources, select the new source, and then confirm the new source, and the last part is buggy so almost half the time it doesnt "take" the new sourced. Overall it would be much easier to just unplug one source and plug it in a new source, but doing that is complicated by the fact that one input is dedicated for an xbox and the other is for other items. One nice feature of this device that may not be obvious from the description is that you can plug in any audio source with a 3.5 line into the input and then have the headphones transmit that. So for example, you can plug a 3.5 from your TV into the receiver, and plug the USB into a power source, and then the headphones will output the TV audio. This feature works great. (The arctis 7 could also do this, btw.)The "would you recommend this item" question is hard in this case. I clicked yes because the product does work well, but it is disappointing in a lot of ways given the price so it is a hesitant thumbs up from me.
Had this headset for about 3 weeks and the sound is pretty disappointing for xbox series x. The Sonar software only works with pc and does not transfer over to xbox at all. I even did a firmware update for the gen dac 2 and everything I tried under audio settings was not very good and the bass on these nova pro wireless is pretty weak and very underwhelming. The swappable battery packs were decent but annoying to have to swap out in the middle of a game of mw3. These are definitely not worth $350 because they don’t live up to the hype for that price whatsoever. I ended up returning the steelseries arctis nova pro wireless. I picked up the razer blackshark v2x wired headset for $50 and honestly they blow the steelseries out of the water in sound , bass is excellent ... The dual bluetooth is nice when it works but half the time when connected to your console and phone at the same time the phone audio would just cut out and not work. After i returned and got another the second started having similiar issues but this time instead if battery issues it was having audio quality issues. With volume at about half any explosions or music with deep bass would cause the headset to pop or crinkle, i had the eq set at almost flat and it still did it. The headset has almost no bass without changing the eq but doing so was bottoming out the speakers. Also this has been praised for making footsteps louder but when they are so loud and it cant reproduce where thwy are coming from exactly you look left when they are on your right, it almost like mono audio instead of spatial like its supposed to be. The anc bulb is also very annoying after an hour you can really feel it pushing on your lobe and the noice cancellation is negligible at best while cutting battery life in half if left on. Sidetone creates a very annoying hum. This headset has so many qc and design issues that you should go with with something else.
I bought the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for two main purposes: playing Xbox online and using it as a meeting headset for work. It performs well in both areas, with one exception. When connecting via Bluetooth on my MacBook, it often shows as connected, but the audio doesn’t work during Teams calls. I have to go through the settings to confirm the audio input and output, which usually resolves the issue. The headset’s dual connectivity (Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz) is versatile, allowing simultaneous connections to an Xbox and a Bluetooth device. However, this can sometimes confuse the headset or my MacBook, especially if I forget to switch off the 2.4 GHz mode.In terms of audio quality, it’s decent but doesn’t match my Sony WH-1000XM5s, which offer superior sound. ... Comfort-wise, the headset is good, though the ear cushions are a bit firm. Third-party cushions might improve this. The included hub seems excessive for my needs; a simpler adapter for the Xbox would suffice. The mic is tricky to pull out and the mute button is awkwardly placed. The magnetic covers over the USB-C port and battery are prone to getting lost and attract dust. Plus, their scratchy lenticular texture might be unpleasant for some people to touch.Overall, it’s a solid headset for gaming, but there are better options for work meetings and certainly better headphones at this price point for sound quality.
These headphones are the most luxurious things I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. However, there are some very obvious hardware flaws that makes the experience incredibly frustrating. To start off, these headphones are notorious for the ANC speaker inside the earcup poking too far out. This inconvenience makes gaming extremely uncomfortable. I was forced to purchase a third-party ear cup with extra padding to avoid my ear touching the speaker. Without it, gaming is enjoyable for 3 minutes max before someone with moderate sized ears, like myself, becomes uncomfortable. It’s hard not to be frustrated at the serious design flaw. When the bluetooth is on, but the Bluetooth device is not actually outputting any audio, there is a constant buzzing in one of the ears ... Without it, gaming is enjoyable for 3 minutes max before someone with moderate sized ears, like myself, becomes uncomfortable. It’s hard not to be frustrated at the serious design flaw. When the bluetooth is on, but the Bluetooth device is not actually outputting any audio, there is a constant buzzing in one of the ears that only goes away when Bluetooth is either off, or actually playing audio.I’ve returned these 2 seperate times, so I’m now on my third pair of these headphones, and all three have at a really cheap plastic-sounding creaking everytime I rotate or move the earcup in any way.The bass is extremely underwhelming. To compensate, you may use the Sonar software (which is one of the most shining features of these headphones) to adjust the bass gain, but if you’re a streamer or content creator of any sort, you later realize that while the bass may sound normal in your ears, it’s actually HEAVILY distorted in recordings. Meaning you’d have to have the bass turned down pretty significantly, which only makes the audio experience more unpleasant.I have a lot of amazing things I could share about these headphones, but I believed it’s glorified enough in any review video ever. The convenient battery switch and Bluetooth/usb simultaneous wireless connections alone is a staple in what makes a pair of headphones this luxurious. But for the price point, my God some of these designs needs to be brought back to the drawing board. The price is not worth having so many frustrating flaws.Overall, I’ve learned to work around its flaws. I plan on returning it one more time in hopes of receiving a pair without the annoying plastic creaking. love it for what it is, but I can’t stand it for how it is. If the issues I mentioned were addressed and appropriately fixed, these would be the most top selling luxury gaming headphones in my opinion. Weigh your pros and cons carefully before making the purchase. You’ll fall in love with it, but this is what frustrating because now you’re dedicating time and money into finding workarounds for issues that should never exist.
