Bought the complete AP 300S battery system and could not be happier. Being a longtime Stihl owner for over 35 years, I swapped over to the battery system. Once a year I blow out my house under crooks and crevices and it’s nice not to have the gas smell. This blower is as good as any other gas powered blower I have owned. It’s quiet and powerful. Now during pollen season, I can blow every day for about 2 weeks before charging back up. Twin City outdoors is the best dealership with the most knowledgeable professional staff. Thanks Jeff@!

Got this blower a couple years back to use as a prop in a short film, made some modifications and added LED's because we needed it for the film. Now that I own a house, I went to use the blower, "stihl" as strong as ever, and battery hadn't died.People who are worried about batteries going bad after a couple of years, do not worry. STIHL won't let you down. Great quality in their products.

I went to my local dealer and was comparing the models. I was between the BGA 57 and 86. I thought and was discussing with the store manager for an extra $50ish bucks I can get a better unit. Had it all lined up at the counter and since Stihl has a “we can’t seek the item with the box” policy I asked where is the battery and charger. “Oh it’s not included!” Oh well how much, battery and charger are an extra $290. For $250 you get just the blower!!! $540 for an electric leaf blower. It wasn’t justified so I went with the 57 that comes with battery and charger for $199. Needless to say I am disappointed with the 57. I am a community new home builder and 20-30 min run times on the 57 just does not cut it and it’s power may be good for the weekend rose gardener but not ... MoreI went to my local dealer and was comparing the models. How do you go from $200 kit to the next model sold as an incomplete tool for $250 with an extra $290 need to even make it function. That is just poor planning.

I bought this to assit will fall clean up because I don't always need to pull out my backpack blower. The BGA 86 is light and has more than enough blowing capacity to help keep the driveway and shrub beds clean in the front yard. I want to avoid leaves blowing into the garage. It is light, easy to operate and has enough charge to blow multiple times. I don't smell like exhaust and don't have to wear protective hearing. To sum it up my garage is much cleaner.
I bought this about 1yr ago, and love it! It has excellent power for my around the house cleanup needs (including fall cleanup). (I have a 1/4acre suburban lot, and when doing the fall cleanup, my arm does start to ache so I need to swap arms every so often)Note though, it does get heavy with the AP300 battery, and your arm will start to ache after carrying it for a bit. A battery mounted in a belt holster would likely be beneficial for extended use with this. However, there are some areas of improvement. First, it should have a trigger-on lock: I find when using it, it's easy for your hand to slip towards the back of the handle (due to the tool's weight), and then it becomes difficult to press the trigger unlock lever as well as the trigger which are both near ... MoreI bought this about 1yr ago, and love it! Also, while the trigger is variable speed, it should have some kind of dial to limit the maximum power output (an electronic control, rather than the manual trigger position stopper like on the FSA90R) -> it's difficult to control intermediate outputs, especially when you want to continuously keep it on a lower power output (such as when blowing leaves out of your garden).-> If the next gen tool can include these improvements, then there shouldn't really be any other blower to consider (unless you need the extra power of the BGA100)
Normally I use a large gas powered backpack blower so I was a bit surprised at how well Stihl’s BGA 86 worked, although obviously it won’t as strong as the gas backpack blower, I like how it’s not as bulky as a backpack one and it’s quieter.A few things to keep in mind also are battery life is average at best with the AP300s, typically only making it to the middle of the day before dying. The onboard battery system also makes it a bit heavy on one end, nothing too major but it is a bit more noticeable when using it for longer periods of time.Overall though, I’m very happy with this blower, stihl did a great job with the design it’s well balanced and has plenty of power for most needs.
Very Happy with the blower/battery/charger! Needed something easy to use (and for my wife) and use between "big blows" with my backpack Stihl BR 700. Live on a Mtn top with thousands of beautiful trees, but leaves are what they are, all year round.=0). This blower easily/quickly cleans up a residence space (1 acre) between the "big blows" (5 acres out of 8 we blow). Lots of power and yes, I get easily 30-40 min, longer with pulsing. Best thing is how quickly it charges to full strength.. (AP300 battery/AL500 charger)I have only run the battery out one time in 100+ uses (on Mtn we blow 2x a day at least, deck always, even in Summer. I typically can blow 8 -10 times between charges). Battery is a very good design (am an EE).
I bought a BGA 86 . AP series is excellent , the blower is a good machine and does an awesome job for the size of the yard with as much power as our old plug-in electric. The balance is amazing and the battery life is groundbreaking , having a full charge used for the AP Mower and trimmer and still 25 percent enough to blow the front yard.I am very pleased with the Stihl battery powered AP series and my BGA 86 blower. I highly recommend the AP series if you are tired of gas , as I am also a little older so it does help!Mike at the Stihl department in Rural King is very helpful, nice . He gave me excellent advice and awesome customer service. I will be going back to see Mike for any other AP products I need in the future.
I bought this blower a few months ago. As a battery powered blower it works great. I would give it a 5 star rating however, there a 2 things that need improvement.1. You have to move, push and squeeze 3 buttons to turn it on. I understand these products need a safety switch, but this is overkill.2. I purchased the largest capacity battery (AP 300 S) to get the longest run time. The battery comes out hard when you need to pull it out to recharge it. It seems to be too large of battery for the springs in the blower to pop it out.I do like that it has a long run time and is a powerful blower.
Ordered online and picked up at Greenway Equipment about 6 weeks ago. Started using the next day. Love the separate battery to reduce weight on arms/shoulders. You don't have to hold tiggers, etc. for blower to work. AP 300 battery life on highest power is good. Definitely noticed difference in battery life on highest power vs. medium or low. Had already purchased two AP 300 batteries with my chainsaw. Charge fast so tasks can be completed without waiting for battery to charge. I do recommend purchasing a minimum of 2 batteries.
