Sunbeam Alinea Select 4 Slice Toaster Black TA2840K

I always read reviews and there were barely any negative ones regarding this toaster. We took the plunge, and I cannot say enough about how fabulous it is. I am still learning to "drive" it - but even with that, it toasts evenly on both sides, to perfection. Crumpets are the best we've ever had and we've had both cheap and expensive toasters. You can even set it to toast gluten-free bread and it understands the different needs of the differing breads. Once you know how to fully utilise everything it offers, you can truly "set and forget", trusting it to do exactly what you asked. No more hovering over a toaster and fiddling around!

Garbage. Thought we'd fork out for an expensive toaster after seeing all the awesome reviews online for this one. I guess we got a bad one as it doesn't toast both sides of bread at the same rate in some slots, so it's going back for a refund and we'll get something different. It's great it has a lot of settings, but half are pointless unless you plan to eat warm bread or charcoal as well as toast.We were also disappoited to find the toaster is chrome all over except for just the front face, so I would not call it a black toaster. The matt black and chrome look bad together, and the chrome gets marks and fingerprints way too easily.

Very very very disappointed it is by far the worst toaster I’ve ever bought. A $10 from Kmart would work better. There is no instructions how crumpets should go in. My old breville one would specifically say which way to face a crumpet. I put it on 9 and my crumpets are still not cooked. It’s flimsy feels cheap. Not worth its money. I am even willing to just donate it to go get a new one. I don’t not recommend this toaster.

Disappointed

Great that the slots are wide but the length is far too short. Besides that, it’s an unattractive design and the the crumb trays are at the back. Last toaster (not this brand) had intelligently put the crumb trays at the front, had long slots and was of a far more elegant look.

Disappointing

I had high hopes for this toaster after putting a lot of thought into our choice but unfortunately it misses the mark. The toast is always unevenly cooked, and even using the highest setting of 9 I often have to cook it twice and it's still barely even brown. We chose a more expensive toaster and highly regarded brand and it certainly doesn't deliver on what we expected,

Looks Great. Hopeless crumpet setting

Bought this to be able to toast crumpets instead of having to use the grill.It looks fantastic, is easy to set and operate but simply will not, irrespective of setting, cook crumpets as advertised.No matter what the "browness" setting or crumpet orientation, this toaster just delivered a basically raw crumpet face. It cooks the back, but that's it.If you're only going to toast bread, this might be for you, but if you want to cook crumpets; look elsewhere

NOT WORTH THE MONEY, not a good product.

Too fancy for a simple task. NOT WORK THE MONEY. Dials do not work well. The toaster has a mind of its own. You set it for light toast and you get a over done toast as end product. The light dial and the numbers are not sync'ed. Its as confused as the light in a disco techs. A simple toaster is a better buy than this.

POOR TOASTER

I purchased this toaster today and tried it out on white bread. The toast is so patchy. The result was some brown and other parts still white. The setting was 5 and 6 on the toaster and set for white bread. Normal size bread with none sticking out the top of the toaster.

Sleek and stylish

So far so good, just replaced a Sunbeam cafe series toaster that has served my family of 6 well for over 10 years. Love all different settings forDifferent breads. Love the pop upQuick view function. Much smaller unit than my cafe series also.

Trendy toaster

Such a nifty toaster. We are loving this toaster. You can select the type of item you are toasting and you can also select how long you want it toasted. The dials light up to show you your selection. They also count down and will flash to let you know it is about to pop. We love that the 2 sides can be different settings and can be used independently of each other. It is definitely worth the extra couple of dollars. It looks nice and works even nicer. Very happy with this purchase.
