It is a good toaster. It toasts as evenly as I've ever seen, although apparently Vogels is the litmus test for these things. I hate Vogels but like the toaster. The 'preview' function is my favourite feature. I think it's meant to have a crumpet setting but haven't found it yet.

I did a search for reviews outside of DJ's and they are generally praising the product and making similar points but are couched in the kinds of phrases most people would use. Sounds like people love this toaster and I may buy it on the back of those outside reviews, but I don't like the Sunbeam marketing department posting reviews of products on DJ's website. I got this toaster sometime in November 2022 once it arrived in stock. The toast only cooks on one side. the appearance is fantastic. Giving the toaster a chance to work and maybe improve, it still cooks on one side. This has to be the worst toaster I have ever bought.I do not recommend this model. I will never buy Sunbeam again.

I love that it can toast white and brown bread at the same time using different settings on each side. And it does so very effectively.It’s not quite the vibrant orange colour in the photo - more a paler matte colourThe buttons also have white writing which is a bit difficult to read at first - okay once you learn which button is which
Purchased this only about a month ago so cannot comment on longevity. It is quite large, but good eye candy for the kitchen. On the positive sides It operates as you would expect an expensive and well known brand to behave. I love the " look and see" function and the fact that both sides operate independent of each other. Its like having two toasters. The LED's on the bottom serve as a unique feature and also allow you to look down into the removable crumb tray.On the negative side, The slots are quite shallow and larger (blanket bread) may have to be rotated in order to toast all of it and not leave white bits. That is all I have on the negative. I absolutely love the matte finish on both the colour and the brushed stainless steel top. All up, so far I am getting ... Lovely toaster. Looks great with matching kettle, works well. However there is a flaw.I've never seen a toaster with such a large metal plate across the entire top of the toaster. It gets super hot and have slightly burnt the side of my hand. I make sure our little one doesn't take the toast out themselves now.
Our original Sunbeam Radiant Control Toaster died decades ago but discovered that a new genuine replacement wasn't available.In our ignorance, we thought that new technology would've surpassed it, frustratingly, we've been on a long & expensive journey of the latest big names toasters ever since & none have came close.Long story short our new Sunbeam Kyoto toaster has proven to be consistent & the best compromise, currently placed as a distant second best.In summary, if you need a new toaster, learn from our frustrating experience, snap up the Sunbeam Kyoto, you'll save a lot of time & money.
Did a lot of checking of online reviews before purchasing and am pleased to say this toaster is so far measuring up to the high ratings it received. Has all the features and functions you’d expect of a good quality toaster but also has a crumb tray that you don’t have to wrestle with to clean, as the toaster just sits on it instead of sliding inside the toaster itself. It fits well in a relatively confined bench space as well, and - as anyone who has had a dud toaster will be pleased to know - it actually toasts the whole slice of bread, front and back.
Sunbeam has hit the nail on the head with this stylish toaster, part of a pair with the Kyoto styled kettle. Shape is great, compact design, magnetic base and crumb collector that looks the part and works a treat. No more crumb tray to fiddle with. And then there’s the colour. Makes a fantastic statement. Everyone who sees the pair says they look fantastic against the white kitchen.
