Sunday Riley - C.E.O. Afterglow Brightening Vitamin C Cream - 15g

I decided to use this for around 3 weeks, before writing my review. I can definitely confirm my skin feels a lot more hydrated, looks brighter, and the texture has become softer. I would recommend this to anyone looking to add a bit of hydration to their skin, especially during colder weather. First of all, I love how it includes a little scoop wand so you don’t have to put your fingers directly into the cream. Secondly, I love the color...it’s a very rich yellow which really does the trick in making skin look brighter, but it's also thanks to the advanced Vitamin C (THD Ascorbate). The moisturizer is very lightweight, blends easily into the skin, and acts as the perfect makeup base. It has a medium-thick consistency without being greasy at all. You only need to apply a few dots around the face and only need a small amount. I find applying the cream in circular motions on each side of the face works best, and if you press lightly over the skin, rather than rubbing it in too deep like an oil, I feel the cream sets better. Today I am reviewing a beautifully smelling and ultra therapeutic moisturizing cream from Sunday Riley. The “Afterglow” Vitamin C cream from the C.E.O. product line is a creamsicle dream for the skin. Automatically, I was attracted to the sleek packaging of my discovery sized orange jar. I will admit, my experience with Sunday Riley products is still quite limited. Reading up on the potent ingredients in this hydrating cream made me all the more eager to try it on my parched end-of-day skin. There are plenty of antioxidants packed into the formula also thanks to Lutein, which gives the cream that deep yellow Marigold hue. I actually really enjoyed the consistency of this product, as it was denser than your typical gel, yet applied just as easily as one. I could really feel the product creating a type of seal over my skin, wrapping it in a humectant blend of the most gorgeous smelling botanical ingredients. There is a calming essential oil blend at play here which prominently features Neroli, among other plants. The hyaluronic acid helps ensure that this product both adds and maintains a high level of moisture in the skin’s barrier. My only caution in using this product is to not “overdo it.” As the product holds a deeply saturated “Marigold” hue, you’ll want to make sure you blend this in fully before applying your foundation or skincare next steps. I just found applying Afterglow to be quite addicting - and I know you will too!

Disappointed

I heard so many rave reviews from so many different women that I was excited to give this a try. First off I really like that SR is clean & cruelty free. I like that this cream comes in a glass jar, the smell is pleasant enough and the texture is so light, airy like mousse. I used this for 6 weeks and here is what I found. For day use after application I tried 2 different primers and they both pilled. Tried w/o primer with 3 different brands of tinted moisturizers with SPF and it still pilled. So I could not use it for day. So using this for 6 weeks at night I personally did not see any of the promised results. It didn't bother my skin at all but then again my skin is not sensitive, I am over 55 too if that helps. Glad others love this just not for me.

I bought the mini to try something new for during the day. I landed on this. I'm seeing reviews of people saying it didn't asorb or was gritty and even it peeled into little balls. OK, I used this as a last step to seal in all my other am products. if its not working properly or not absorbing correctly it could be the other products your using may not be compatible, or your not letting one product asorb long enough before you add the next step.I would definitely do a little research! I used this and it made my skin glow, I received compliments on how bright my face looked. It worked amazing under my makeup, It has a nice smell, not overpowering very light jasmine or gardenia scent. Looks, feels and smells good enough to eat

Just wow! The whipped, mousse-like gel cream is a delight to behold. The bright - it really is bright - orange colour is instantly uplifting, as is the scent (tangerine and neroli) which is strong in the pot but barely noticeable once applied. The texture is delightful - airy-light and soft, like the best whipped desserts.It honestly makes my mouth water but obviously this is strictly skin food. It does an excellent job of nourishing, brightening and firming my combination skin - delivering just the right it of moisture and satin-like effect. It definitely peps up my skin but doesn't cover imperfections - rather it plumps and adds a glow. Sadly, I did not like this at all

I get on well with most Sunday Riley products, so this was a double disappointment. It is a gel cream formula in a very bright orange-yellow colour. This was the first problem, there is so much colouring that if you have very pale skin it actually adds a tint, and orange-yellow on top of a pale cool-toned skin is not flattering. When I cleansed my face at the end of the day, the yellow came off and was the same colour on the cloth. Not nice at all. The second was that this never actually absorbed, it left a tacky shiny sheen on my skin, like I had overheated first thing in the morning. I was hoping for the glow of good health but got an unhealthy yellowish shine instead. If you have a warm skintone, you will get away with the yellow colouring, but you still may not like the finish.

Smells Weird But Smooths Beautifully

I was a little worried about using this product because I have sensitive, acne prone skin and past reviews are not great from people with that combo. However, I gave it a try and it literally worked magic. This is my new skincare holy grail for dry Colorado winters.I've had acne my entire life and also, more recently, some redness and drying as my skin adapts to a prescription cream containing trentinoin during the dry winter season in Colorado. I feel like I'm writing a fake hype ad, but I'm not, CEO Afterglow was really just what my skin needed.It does not pill at all under my Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors HA moisturizer and Supergoop Unseen sunscreen if I let everything absorb between applications, as you should generally with skincare. I also frequently use Summer Fridays sheer skin tint on top with zero pilling or splitting.The product itself applies very smoothly and absorbs without greasiness (I have combo skin with an oily t-zone). It also leaves a hint of a glowy sheen behind which makes my skin look plump and moisturized but not oily or artificially shimmery.The only downside is the scent - it's a little weird and quite strong. I don't consider myself sensitive to smells but this product has a heavy earthy/citrus/chemical scent that I don't love but tend to not notice after initial application personally.Overall, this product really worked for me. I recommend giving it a shot but, given some of the negative skin reactions that others have reported, test in an inconspicuous area for a few days before diving in face first :)

I received a sample size in a kit and because I have very sensitive skin, I started slow with everything. That includes the Good Genes treatment and a retinoid I started. I gradually built up each product so now I use the Afterglow brightening gel and separate Vitamin C cream every day, twice a day. It’s been about 3 months and what a difference in skin tone, brightening and fading of sun spots. I don’t notice any pilling and I like the smell, to me it smells fresh. I think because I’m using a regimen of exfoliating and retinoid along with the creams it’s helped to smooth out my skin. I mainly wanted to reduce wrinkles and although it’s helped a little with that, it’s the brighter glowy look that’s really noticeable. This has become my all time favorite!

I just started my second jar of C.E.O. Afterglow Cream. Although it is pricier than what I was using before, it lasted almost five months, which is awesome especially since I use it on my face and my neck.. I was using a different brand's vitamin C moisturizers and this one blows that one out of the water. Personally I really like the scent. It smells citrusy. It is so smooth to put on, and dries quickly. A little goes a long way. I get monthly facials, and my esthetician commented how my pores have gotten smaller, my skin remains smooth, and the color itself is really consistent. I also really appreciate that this product comes in glass instead of plastic.
