SuperFade Face Treatment Cream is a medicated, pharmacy strength skin treatment to help fade pigmentation, such as brown skin blemishes including freckles and age spots on the face. It contains a powerful active ingredient Hydroquinone (2%), for fighting pigmentation at the source. This cream is specifically formulated for women and men to assist in fading brown skin blemishes, freckles, and melasma, which occur when excessive pigmentation has resulted from the influence of sun exposure, hormonal variation, or skin type. Hydroquinone is the gold standard in pigmentation fading and works by disabling the damaged melanocyte deep in the skin that produces excess melanin which then forms the brown pigment on the surface of the skin. SuperFade Face Treatment Cream should be applied to the affected area only. Results may begin to appear in just 6 weeks of regular and consistent use.

I've tried a lot of things to try to fade dark spots / pigmentation - it is a long process and you need to stick to a routine to monitor results. I used this Superfade Face Cream once a day for 14 weeks, and I did see some general fading of the darkest, newest spots. \nThe cream itself is smooth and somewhat lightweight. and I had to wait for it to sink into skin before applying my next layer of skincare or there will be balling! Subtle smell, but unfortunately has a tacky / sticky finish that can feel uncomfortable. \nTo be honest, I didn't see fantastic results for the time put in, and I will be going back to a strong vitamin c product. \n

However, with more Google research I found John Plunkett's Superfade Cream which contains the active ingredient, Hydroquinone, at a good amount of 2%.\n\nI used it three times daily as directed on the package, for two months, and it is very quickly effective for post inflammatory redness, it will remove that in a few days. It was mildly effective for lightening my pigmentation while I was using it. However, I have stopped using it for the time being because it has Salicylic Acid as well as the Hydroquinone and both of these in cream form tend to travel from my forehead throughout the day and end up in my eyes causing a stinging sensation and copious weeping, which isn't practical. Since stopping I believe my pigmentation has returned to what it was before I began using it. I am considering using it purely at night and assessing how it impacts on my pigmentation over time, obviously the results may not be a fast as the brand's suggested six moths, with three times daily application, but since I know it can be effective at fading this may be a better approach.\n\nAt $30 odd dollars I would recommend you try it especially for post pimple redness, it perhaps more viable for smaller facial areas away from the eyes. \n

I have really bad pigmentation like a big brown butterfly over my face and forehead from years of sunbaking in baby oil, solariums, etc. I used to get stared at all time as my face looked like I had scars or a huge birthmark. I have spent thousands of dollars on IPL Treatments, Fraxel and very expensive high end products both in Australia and from overseas. I must say this is the best money I have EVER spent and I just wished that I gave it a go earlier. I have been using for about 2 months now and my friends and family just cannot believe the big difference it has made - I reckon by about 70% and about to purchase a 2nd tube. Be patient and consistent, however I begun getting results after a few weeks. It's so nice to actually see what my skin looks like underneath ... MoreI have really bad pigmentation like a big brown butterfly over my face and forehead from years of sunbaking in baby oil, solariums, etc. I used to get stared at all time as my face looked like I had scars or a huge birthmark. Crazy, I started seeing results after 2 days
9 February 2022

I was expecting to have to wait 1 to 3 months for any kind of result, but I started seeing a noticeable fade of my very obvious sun moustache (Inspector Poirot anyone?) after 2days. Now it has been a week and you can barely notice any pigmentation at all. Magic! So grateful that I bought this instead of spending $$$ on laser treatment.

Gently fades spots over time
19 September 2022

I have been using this cream for over a year now and have noticed significant fading of sun/age spots. They have not entirely disappeared but they look much better and aren't noticeable anymore. I am satisfied with the outcome considering this is an over the counter product.

It works!
5 May 2023

I have a number of stubborn dark spots on my cheeks and around the eyes. Tried many dark spot correcting serums, whitening creams and even laser over the years. Nothing worked. I came across Superfade by chance. Decided to give it a go after reading the product description and it is inexpensive. There was no noticeable change after the first 3-4 weeks. Then I was so excited when I looked into the mirror (week 4) to find that the dark spots under my eyes faded so much that they were hardly noticeable. The rest have become much lighter.

Miracle Cream!!!
4 October 2021

I had finally had enough of feeling very self conscious about an area of pigmentation/age spot on the side of my face. 2 years previous I had the same area lasered and unfortunately it came back bigger and darker pigmentation than before. I visited CW and asked advice from the Pharmacist who was very happy to suggest this Superfade Cream. I followed the directions carefully using twice a day and before bedtime and very sparingly to the area only ....... 4 weeks on and I am absolutely thrilled with the results!! The area has drastically faded and I have my confidence back again. Would highly recommend, this product is AMAZING!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!!

No results after 6 weeks
4 May 2021

I was told to grab this product after trying to get rid of dark pigmentation on my skin and dark spots on my face. I was prepared to spend a lot of money to see a skin dermatologist but a friend told me to try this first. I have been feeling a bit insecure having dark spots on my face that I constantly have to try cover with my hair down or with heavy makeup so I have become desperate to try anything. I've been using super fad for 6 weeks now and on the box it says results should start occurring within 6 weeks.... that is not the case for my skin. I'm a little disappointed but I will still continue to use the product like normal because I want to give it a chance and even if it lightens the dark spots a little bit, I will still be happy about it. The consistency and smell is very similar to sunscreen which can be a turn off for some people but it feels nice on the sink and soaks in quiet well. I'm sure this product has worked for many people as my friend said it worked really well for her so it might be my skin tone and texture that the formula isn't working on. If I see results after finishing the product I will be writing another review.

Takes time but worked well
28 April 2022

Takes time but worked wellI used this for 3 months to target my pigmentation on my right hand. It was showing signs of aging from being in the sun while driving. used 3 times a day. Saw results from about 6 weeks, By 12 weeks it was gone. I now use once a week to make sure it doesn't come back. It does take a a few minutes to absorb into the skin.I clean and apply my face serum. then I dad a little on my pigmentation. Let that absorb then I apply my moisturiser and sunscreen. And now I make sure I put sunscreen on my hands when I do my face. So glad I found this in Chemist ware house. I will now recommend to friends and family as I am so happy with the results.I found the price reasonable and I like the easy to squeeze tube.

Unbelievable
12 August 2021

I have been using this product for a week and the results are amazing.Years of sun damage, surfing most days throughout summer, left the skin on my face and chest covered in brown spots. With two very dark patches developing on my cheek. After a friend mentioned Lazer to get rid of these spots, which I thought would be expensive and no appointments available due to Covid. I did some research and found this.Just awesome, the two really dark spots are now cream in colour and the others are so faded they are hardly noticeable. My skin looks fresh and smooth. Highly recommend this product. Can not wait to see the final results. No make needed anymore.
