It hits lows I knew were there but never heard before out of the old Klipsch. Now some of that might have been because of the receiver as it is old as well. But this PB1000 is so powerful and deep, even at low volume, that it makes me so glad I chose it over any other sub. The PB1000 exceeded all my expectations. I purchased mine from the outlet and saved $100 and it looks like new. You have to get the Soundpath isolation feet if you don't want your house to rattle. The feet also lift the sub-woofer a couple inches which makes it look a little cooler and helps any dirt or dust stay off the bottom of the cloth grill. I have an open space which is more than 2000 CF with 12 foot ceilings and the sound wraps around you and immerses you into whatever you are watching or listening to. You really feel the lower frequencies without any ear fatigue. I could not be happier with the SVS PB-1000! I paired this sub with the Elac Debut 2.0 5 series of home theatre speakers. I was initially planning to get the Elac sub because I was nervous about mixing and matching a different sub that might not go well with the speakers (that's happened to me before). But while researching home theatre setups, I kept coming across SVS as the best in the sub business. SVS subs are not easily available in brick and mortar electronics stores, so I didn't get to test one out. It's honestly so good I couldn't believe it, and I had to call them up to confirm I wasn't reading things wrong! 45 day trial period, 5 year warranty, low price guarantee PLUS a 1 year trade-up policy! SVS also has informative reviews on YouTube explaining subwoofer technology, and their customer service was very helpful in guiding me on how to set up and calibrate the sub properly. That assuaged my concerns about not getting to test the sub before buying, so I went ahead! The PB-1000 is everything I hoped it would be! It is SO powerful, it shakes my living room even though I have the volume set at only 65%. I don't dare turn it up to 100%! Those of you looking for deep bass in your movies and games will not be disappointed. But of equal importance to audiophiles is clarity, and I know ported subs are often criticised for being less accurate on that count. I have to say, this sub is fantastic for clarity too. There is almost no distortion at loud volumes, and at low volumes one can still discern enough bass for listening to be enjoyable without disturbing the neighbours. Given the location of the sub the corner of my living room, I did detect a bit of boominess in the beginning. So I bought and installed the SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System, which really helped make the bass cleaner and tighter without sacrificing depth. All in all, I highly recommend the PB-1000 to anyone looking for a great subwoofer at a decent price! You will not be disappointed with this model, whether you use it for movies, games or music!

This is more than an entry level sub in my opinion, even if it's one of the smallest in the SVS lineup. BTW, small is relative, this is a sizeable and solid unit. This is my 3rd sub in 30 years but first SVS. Build quality and appearance are amazing and sound is better than anything I've heard and blends perfectly with the rest of my system that does not contain any other SVS products. Customer service is also first-rate with prompt helpful chat. I suggest also buying the isolation feet which I did a couple years ago for my previous sub and moved them to this one. The ones that come standard are sufficient and not cheap, but the optional ones they sell really cleans up the base and provides good clean sound w/o a lot of rattling of other things in the room. I had an Infinity PS-12 and it put out tremendous bass that would rattle the house but due to poor design it died and I spent 3 years without great sound. I started looking at other 12" subs and ran across the PB-1000 10" and thought that it could not possibly out perform the cheaper but larger Infinity. The 45 day trial peaked my interest and great reviews so I jumped on it.After changing a few settings on my receiver and finding an optimal place for the sub I watched Avengers Infinity War and words can't express the joy of the super deep, tight bass that enveloped the room. Had my old PS-12 still been working and heard what this little guy can do, it would have hung itself by a speaker cord. Had my old PS-12 still been working and heard what this little guy can do, it would have hung itself by a speaker cord. My surround system sounds the way I have always wanted it to and didn't know what I was missing out on.Now the negative that dropped it a 5 star which others have said as well . . . playing music that is not a part of a track in a movie is underwhelming. I had to fidget with all sorts of settings on my receiver to give it the thump I want for listening to music. When adjusted, it can sound pretty good but comparing it to what it can do for a movie it's kind of "meh" with music. For its credit I cranked my system, played some hip-hop with deep bass and it handled the bass like a champ with no over-driving artifacts in the sound but did have a very slight delay when the peak of the bass should be hitting. This could be due to my set up and not the fault of the sub. With all of this said, I am so pleased with the purchase I will be saving my dimes and quarters to probably create a dual sub setup with another of these great subs!

If you have the space to fit it then just go for it. As its entry level subwoofer for most buyers you really cannot go wrong with this one. It's a winner for both movies and music. Once I got it set up properly with Audyssey and fine tuned it furher to my liking few days later - I really cannot ask for anything more at this price point. I probably only use 30% of its power but its perfectly fine for my liking and if anyone would want to drive it further it has plenty of more to offer. But what I actually wanted to stress the most is the unmatched customer service that SVS offers. I had a small issue with the subwoofer and after reading so many positive feedback and encouraging posts online about SVS customer service I decided to give it a try as well. You can imagine my surprise when I received an answer via e-mail already the same day that they are investigating it but I was completely blown away when the decision was to ship me the replacement parts that were needed considering a) I had not bought the woofer from their site directly b) I'm located in a tiny country in Northern Europe c) I'm actually the second owner of the item and d) Well over 2 years had passed from original purchase which was done also in another country. Of course the parts shipped in perfect condition, instructions provided for changing them were superb and needless to say it solved my problem completely. All the craziness in 2020 and this might be the biggest surprise yet - to see a company who truly stands by their product and name at this day, I really have not yet seen such dedication anywhere else. Big thanks goes out to Jeff for assisting me through this and I really wish you all the best and everyone at SVS to keep up the exceptional service! Thanks and will for sure recommend and come back to your products when in need.

I have had the PBS-1000 for about two months, maybe a little longer, and I listen to it every day one way or another in a mix of two-channel and surround audio and 5.1 ht formats--audio to video is probably 70/30 favoring audio. I am impressed. My unit is presenting source material through strong and tight Cambridge equipment with good quality cabling but nothing fancy. Approx. 20x20 partially open listening space with high ceilings and some dampening on walls and floor: I'm sure I could fiddle around with placement, but front of the room, down beside center channel and between mains set in the same plane is how I've got mine and I have been nothing but pleased with its voice and overall performance. I have had zero problems with the unit, I called in on a setup question and customer service was friendly and helpful, and basically I do not have to think about the sub except to enjoy it--standby mode works exactly as it should when my sources are shut down. Video and audio source playback are greatly enhanced and the sub blends nicely with my vintage Klipsch setup. There is no distortion under load and the sub will jam if you call on it, but I do not use it to rock a regular party and would not recommend this unit for that primary purpose. Solid, detailed bass and effects performance, perfect blending with other equipment, and no problems. I would buy SVS again for sure and have never given the purchase a second thought except to be happy with it.

SVS Sound was not a brand I had ever come across, considering I come from a musical background. I'm not an audiophile by any means! That being said, I am extremely happy and excited I did! It's been 30+ days and counting since purchase! Dual subs is key for any home theater set up...that I did know from my personal system. Quick reference, I have a Denon 3313ci, MLT2, 7.1 set up, 13x13x8 room. When the original 2 ML subs finally retired, after a good number of years, I was looking for "more bass". Wow! These Dual PB1000's just took me to another level! Since I'm into music and movies 50/50, a word of advice, take the time to really dial in your subs. Placement, calibration, listening to different content etc. Get educated on how you can make your existing system ... MoreSVS Sound was not a brand I had ever come across, considering I come from a musical background. I carefully considered this and the sealed SB-1000. After days of reading reviews and watching YouTube videos, I went with the PB-1000 because it best suited my intended use. My purpose is 90% home theater and 10% music. I have a Denon DRA-800H and Klipsch RP-600M speakers in a carpeted room 15' wide and 28' deep, and now a single PB-1000 (with the Denon set 100hertz after some fiddling...default is 80hertz) . I originally bought a Klipsch SPL-100 to match the speakers I already owned, and was not happy with it. The controls on the SPL were basic, the sound was a little rattlely for lack of a better adjective, and other than shaking the room a little didn't add to the theater or hi-fi experience. Worst of all, the SPL wouldn't power on, regardless of settings, until ... MoreI carefully considered this and the sealed SB-1000. I originally bought a Klipsch SPL-100 to match the speakers I already owned, and was not happy with it. The controls on the SPL were basic, the sound was a little rattlely for lack of a better adjective, and other than shaking the room a little didn't add to the theater or hi-fi experience. Worst of all, the SPL wouldn't power on, regardless of settings, until the room was ear splitting loud. The PB-1000 has multiple connection options, better switches...make that waaaaay better switches, and has terrific, unassuming sound quality. By unassuming I mean it blends in perfectly. It's deep and rich, drums and bass guitar sound like they are live, and explosions and earthquakes on movies make me feel like I'm there. Also, the PB-1000 has an always on switch, but it's not needed. In standby mode, the PB-1000 kicks on with the first strum of a guitar string or any low frequency sound during a TV show or movie. I am very glad I returned the Klipsch and bought the PB-1000...and now I'm wondering if I should have tested SV bookshelf speakers before buying the RP-600s. I would definitely take advantage of SV's 45-day trial before making any more sound system decisions. Again, I am a very happy customer. The PB-1000 looks good, sounds awesome, has great build quality, the grill comes on and off easily (and stays put), and for my needs as well as hearing, a single PB-1000 sub works perfectly. It would be hard to find better at this price, and not many let one test drive it for 45 days...but I made up my mind to keep it after a few minutes!

Nice sub for the money . These guys are doing things right I have built many sub enclosers for automobiles in my time back in the day using JL , Memphis Audio, Image Dynamic, and so on you name it I have a thing for subs I guess and when I open the box and looked at this entry level sub I was impressed with the attention to detail and quality of the encloser . It is easy to build a sub box with no worry about cost but a challenge when you are trying to hit a price point and these guys have got this down perfectly when it comes to quality per dollar they are setting the standard . Do your research and you will see a high satisfaction rate from owners . I bought this sub and a pair of little satellite speakers for my basement . Do your research and you will see a high satisfaction rate from owners . I bought this sub and a pair of little satellite speakers for my basement . I unhooked a pair of polk lsi 25 powered towers and did a comparison . 3 grand vs under 700 bucks .( I shopped the svs outlet store ) and There is no lost in sound I let some friends judge for them self and it was half in half on what sounds better that just tell you the quality of svs products . The receiver I was using ( yes receiver) is a mac6700 McIntosh and the svs setup took everything the mac through at them best fun I had in a long time. I just ordered a outlaw 2160 to feed the svs and that should be more of what the svs set up will need and bring a long enjoyment for me . I love seeing products like this I have been saying for years the audio world is so inflated on prices Don't get me wrong I love my mac but what I paid for it is embarrassing and you get what you pay for so when I see companies like SVS offering what they do for the prices they offer it makes me think this beautiful hobby of audio is still alive . You go SVS . I will be looking at the ultra towers to replace my old polks because of satisfaction I am receiving from this last buy thanks SVS .
