I bought a Night Owl 1080p camera system and a few days later bought the Swann 5pc wifi cameras. I charged cameras for about 3 hours each before testing them. I took a long time to sync them because they only worked on a 2.4GHZ network. I borrowed a Lynksys EA9500 router and after tinkering an hour or more I got the first camera going. The picture is really not that great and the Night Owl where way better quality but did not have microphone. I did make changes to quality, detection and other features.As I type the review my rear door camera is showing ( Device Disconnected again ).. I am not sure if the wifi don't reach it but the router is about 25 feet away from camera. Notification shows low Wifi Signal.The plus is they are wifi and can me moved around and ... The cameras do not perform well at all. Motion activation is slow and either misses the action all together or an unusable snippet of I.e. a person walking by.1 out of 2 cameras failed in the first couple of months.This same camera failed almost immediately after reinstalling the camera with instructions from Swan helpdesk.Reported the issue again, but Swan won’t respond.I will never purchase another Swan product.

They didn’t have 2 sets in stock so I bought the second set from Bunnings, $100 cheaper! I set up the cameras really quickly. I was impressed. Bought this a few weeks ago to use with my wired Swann system. The wireless cameras are terrible. They connect and show the live image 1 out of 10 times. Most of the time you get an error saying ‘cant load’. Used both within a few metres of router and didn’t change a thing. Don’t waste your money or time with them. I wish I could get my money back.
Returned 2 days after purchasing. App is horrendous and all Swann does is respond with the generic “check your internet” answer. App lags and barely ever connects and then when it does you might be lucky to have 20 secs of stream. Bought a Eufy system instead and immediately it is 1000x better, app always connects and have not had a single issue! The person at the Bunnings store said they often have people returning Swann camera systems for the same reasons! Honestly save yourself the run around and get a different brand!
Live view is slow, sometimes will not even load. When I go to review recordings it takes a few hours before it will allow me to watch it. Audio output on camera is not loud enough and very lagged, to the point where you can hear yourself talking back on the camera to app audio. Settings never seem to save. Should have stuck with Eufy! A much better system that actually works.
Works well, easy set up, sometimes a little finicky. Easy installation and motion sensors and recording is good. Initial product was priced different, in store and online. Staff quickly rectified it. First purchase was already opened and paired before return so I was unable to pair. Swann call centre couldn't fix it, but Good Guys staff made a quick replacement.
I installed these cameras yesterday to see great pics of my front door and with another camera my back door. But woke up this morning to look at them again to find blurry pics because of rain water. The box and this website clearly show the camera outside in the rain in photos with no problems. I shouldn’t have to wipe clear my cameras each day it rains to keep images clear surely? I know there are other cameras available with the hooded option, but i didn’t go for these as this camera as I said, clearly showed it outdoors, and said it was weatherproof in rain and snow. It may be weatherproof in terms of working and recording but if you can’t see the images then whats the point?

Setting up is supposed to be straight forward but I had a little problem because the app had a tendency to freeze while communicating with the device. After setting up, it was unable to record. After many trials including rebooting and repairing the device, I deleted my app and reinstalled it to resolve the issue finally.The device performance is disappointing. It ability to detect motion is intermittent. I tested the motion detection. Out of the 10 passing I made across the cameras in an hour, the camera could only managed to detect the motion once. Received an alert that a clip was created but it never shows up in the playback even after 30 minutes. Meanwhile the ... Hello, i would like to take a moment to decuss Swann Securities Refurbished Wire-Free Camares. First of all, let me say that this is my third set of, Refurbished 2 pack Swann Security Cameras. Every time i orderd the wire-free camares, i was never disappointed 😞. Right out the box, First, i charged up the battery to its maximum level. Secondly, i programed the cameras to work with my security system, thirdly, with the mounting kit provided by Swann, I installed the camares outside the house. Lastly, i though the camara installation was easy and the camares clarity is amazing.
