I recently bought the 45580WL and I am pretty happy with it so far but have found a few flaws that I think could be fixed with updates.1. The PIR sensors are a bit laggy when they activate the night led light for the colour vision. It takes around 2 seconds before the lights are activated when the PIR activates at night which means any car driving past or person on a bike will not show what colour the cars/bikes as they have already pass and out of view. Could be a deal breaker if vision is needed for the police.2. When using the main hard-drive to view on a tv or monitor you do not have the same functions as the app does, mainly the alarm feature. Common issue with Swann apparently - DVR/HDD stuck on loading screen after initiating random reboot. Requested service via Swann website, after 2 x emails, Swann stopped replying to me. I sent two further emails requesting communication and stating the importance of having an operational system, but never got anything back. I then took out new service request via chat, Swann finally determined unit fault, sending me a return authorisation (RA). However, Swann declines to pay for postage of their faulty DOA unit and don’t allow it to be dropped off, despite fault occurring just 2 weeks from purchase. Previous system was Swann (4 x battery wifi cameras) and previous to that was Uniden. Wish, wish, wish I still had the Uniden. The PID / heat / motion sensor seems to have alot of false triggers in the queensland heat. Decent configuration options however disappointed that this model DVR does not support audio or analytics on more than one camera
I upgraded my 720p to this 4K and besides the better resolution, the initial configuration was simple and the "Modes" was simple to setup. I used the editing cables so the upgrade process was very quick. The modes are simple to setup but more importantly they are useful. Playback within the SwannSecurity app is very easy and user friendly enough for my wife and kids to use. I setup Google Assistant to play cameras on our chrome cast devices. Also found the 4K cameras had a better wide angle compared to my previous Swann 720p cameras.
