Swann AllSecure650 4 Camera Wireless 2K 1TB Security System

I have never in my life been so infuriated with how un-user friendly something has been. Set up is all but impossible, it requires connection to your tv and using a mouse to key in/create username and password. Cameras seem to automatically connect to the base - as soon as it was given power the camera displayed on the TV, yet the app did not know it existed. Home base will display in the app then disappear completely repeatedly. The camera although the app shows no sign of knowing it exists was quite happy to spam my phone with notifications. You would think you could get tech support right? WRONG. They only have an online live chat, which you have to sit in for eternity until someone responds, but god forbid you miss a reply from them, you only get 7 minutes or ... MoreI have never in my life been so infuriated with how un-user friendly something has been. Then they send an email so sarcastically saying you didn’t respond and if you still need help you can reply to the email - great except NOONE EVER RESPONDS. This is the worst product I have purchased in my life to date. Do not buy SWANN.

Cameras are a let down

The features and simplicity of this design would make for the perfect wireless security system. The 1tb hard drive with back up battery is an awesome idea, interchangeable battery is another great feature. Heaps of setting to play around with. Cameras are a let down If the cameras don’t detect motion or are not woken via live view for around 4-6 hours the cameras fall into a deep sleep and won’t wake up. Every morning I was having to go and press button o top of camera to wake it up. Couldn’t wake it through the app or hard drive and could jump around like a mad man and wouldn’t wake up. On the 3rd morning couldn’t wake 2 cameras no mater what I did. Disappointed

The concept of a spare battery charging, ready to go is great. The wifi cameras appear to be well built. The reality of the system is it is badly let down by poor wifi connectivity. Typically someone buys these because getting a wired install is to difficult because of obstructions or lack of access. So you go with a wifi system. But the tiny antenna that cannot be changed on these cameras means they need to be close to a wifi signal. Mine keep dropping off the wifi, and the hub regularly loses connection to the cameras and wont reestablish a connection without the camera being reset. I have nearly binned these cameras multiple times. And Swann support are useless. I have a support case open today that was opened 2 months ago. Easy install but disappointed with App integration

I've had the system running for a little over a month now. The cameras were easy to install and get running. I like the ability to configure a detection area for each camera, which is especially useful for cameras along the side of a house. I have already had to recharge the batteries for one of the cameras, oddly enough this it the camera I would have expected to register the least number of detections and therefore consume the least battery. I am hoping this is an anomaly and I get a lot more than one month from a battery. The cameras don't seem to have a 100% detection rate, seemly missing some people passing a camera. I have also installed the Swann App on my phone and was hoping this to be a lot more useful than it is. I was also hoping to make use of the Modes feature where you can select Home Mode or Away Mode, allowing you to specify whether you receive notifications or not for each camera. While at home, I wanted to allow notifications for the front door camera but not other cameras, as family members pass these other cameras on a regular basis and getting a notification each time is annoying and of no value. I was planning to then switch to Away Mode (on the App) to activate notifications on all cameras. However, after contacting Swann Technical Support, I've been advised that the Modes functionality on the App is not designed for this system. This is disappointing given the features are available in the App but simply don't work. Interestingly, the feature in the App for Do Not Disturb does work, but is applicable to all cameras.

It was so easy to install. I am 74 years old and not very good with all these modern inventions but willing to learn. I purchased the All Secure 650 setup and as soon as I had connected all the cables charged the batteries turned on the television and hey presto it worked. I have installed the four cameras, two at the front and two at the back of the house. I can't climb ladders, so I installed the cameras underneath the window ledges beside an opening window so changing the batteries is easy. I downloaded the manual for this model and have spent many hours playing with the setup getting used to its very many features such as the very bright lights and the sirens. I downloaded the app for my mobile and get email alerts whenever a camera is activated. I worked all ... MoreIt was so easy to install. Mediocre product, further marred by terrible customer support.

Purchased this as I didn't want a cloud-based service, nor did I want to get a wired system installed. It ends up being worst of both worlds. So not only do you need to swap batteries frequently, can't feasibly have loop recording, but it also has a rudimentary app and the base station interface is limited and difficult to navigate with only a mouse. Detection is poor, often not triggering with obvious human movements in the camera range. That's all fine but when you contact Swann AU to follow up on an enquiry ticket for a replacement component, they refuse to do the bare minimum of their job. Instead they simply tell you to contact Swann AU, even though that's what I did for the initial ticket and the follow up ticket. Never have to take down camera down to recharge

Smart system, has a battery in recorder tower and recharges so when battery gets low on camera you just unclip from camera and swap with the one in recorder tower. I've had this for 2 weeks now, this is an upgrade from a previous system, 2K cameras have excellent day and night quality, you can turn on the spot lights from within APP. We wanted something for our vacation, easy to set up and use, set up took me 45 mins that included drilling in base for cameras, easy to do. I don't think anything else on market comes close. Also no fees, swann gives you lots for free, 1 day free cloud back up.. One trip with a ladder to take the camera down, 3-4 hours of lost security while it's re-charging, and another trip with the ladder to put the camera back up. Wire-free, reliable and 2 years free storage!!

I've had this for 3 weeks now, i was recommended it. So far I'm really happy with the performance the battery life is really good, so far I'm at 95% still, i estimate most my cameras will get 6-7 months battery except my front driveway that has a lot of traffic. We live in a court and cars use it to enter and exit, there's not much street lights and i find the night vision on the cameras is brilliant, 20M plus i used the masking feature to block out the street and only detect motion when person or vehicle is on our footpath or driveway, storage is massive I don't think we would fill it in 2 years. It also an HDMI input, so we've connected ours to the Tv and can switch over and see all 4 cameras, it is expandable to 8. With swappable battery this product will last!!

Firstly let me tell you this - with lithium batteries they all deteriorate over time and I've replaced 2 systems, it can be expensive when your batteries don't recharge and last due to battery issues. The colder your environment the quicker it happens. With this system i was drawn to it because you can interchange batteries, this system gives you 5. And if in the future a battery deteriorates or dies I can get a new one. Another massive plus is when a battery gets low i simply unclip the battery, replace it with freshly charged one and there's no down time of having a camera sitting on a charger. Wifi is awesome - the swan net allows you to connect to the hub or any other wireless access point or router, this was a little tricky, but if you have issues Swann will guide you through it. cameras have a light, massive 1TB local storage, no need for cloud but it does have a feature where you can drop video into a Dropbox storage, I have a free 2TB - it was easy to set up the link, the alerts and notifications is fast, it detects people. i've found the battery life to be really good so far. i have a camera 35 meters from hub in a shed, and everytime i go in there it pings person detected, day and night video is excellent, audio is a bit average. i think this is the best product on the market.
