A big upgrade to the original Hub

I was surprised by the size of the unit, with dimensions similar to the original hub. Don’t let the size fool you though, this thing is full of great features. It was a stroke of genius to redesign the hub this way. I have two of the mini hubs that are practically hidden from sight, but this simple yet attractive device is a welcome addition to a bedside table. I’m really looking forward to exploring all the features. Thanks SwitchBot.

Add IR devices to Alexa

An excellent device to control infra red devices from your smart speaker. I used this to allow me to control the power and volume of both my living room TV and sound bar after my remote started to fail. The app allows you to select from remote control templates or learn from an existing remote. This worked really well and I am now able to control them with voice commands via Alexa. As well as this the device has inbuilt temperature, humidity and light level sensors to allow for remote monitoring or to add scenes like automatic switching off devices based on temperature etc.

Flawless Use with HomeKit for Curtains

This makes using the curtains, incorporating them into your HomeKit routines, and setting timers so much easier as it can all be done through the HomeKit app once you set everything up. The Switchbot App is still required for the set up of the hub and then passing the curtains through to the HomeKit app.Only thing I found a little strange is that the Hub 2 ships with Celsius being its default temperature read out, which is great for most of the world but not us in the US. To fix, open the switchbot app -> click on the "Profile" button in the bottom right -> Click on Preferences -> Click on Temperature Unit -> Select F

Good Hub, Matter support
8 May 2023

Nice update to the SwitchBot Hub capabilities. It has some nice additional capabilities Matter support (which directly onboarded with Homekit the first time I tried, smooth onboarding). Has some defaults that are a bit high (as in the default beep volume, brightness, etc.). I didn t necessarily need yet-another temperature/humidity sensor. Matter was the main capability I purchased it for and that works well. Nice that it has IR sensor capability, but it s a little poorly designed (the IR is on the front where you d interact with the buttons and view the temp/humidity. I ve not fully tested it with the TV I want to use it with, but it s going to be tricky to orient it so that I can see it and have it be able to reach the TV. Also other 3rd party zigbee devices in general.

Great Product that looks good and function well
7 April 2023

Let's start off with the parts I like about this product1.) Everything you need is in the box including a USB brick which lots of companies are now ditching.2.) The USB cable is plenty long and flat3.) The IR function on this is amazing, everything in my home is voice controllable except for my home theater projector for that I still needed to use the remote to turn it off and on. Not anymore this product has 10's of thousands of IR codes built in and for the ones it doesn't it can learn them if you have the original remote. For me setup was easy, I added the IR device, it asked me to point my remote at it and hit the power button and it automatically found the right code to use. Even the virtual remote layout it built was spot on and as soon as I hit ok Alexa ... MoreLet's start off with the parts I like about this product1.) Even the virtual remote layout it built was spot on and as soon as I hit ok Alexa popped up saying it discovered a new device and it was my virtual remote. Now I can control my non-smart projector with my voice. Also this supports having multiple IR devices added so if you got a room full of IR and want to make it voice enabled this has you covered. Now in terms of the IR range it's impressive, I had this device basically pointed away from my projector and it still worked plus the manuals included in the box give you accurate angles and ranges so you can position this perfectly.4.) The display is crisp and you can customize it to your liking such as the temperature unit and if you want it on or off.5.) The accuracy of the temp and humidity sensor matched by ecgobee remote sensors and my Wyze remote sensors. I have had other devices get those measurements wildly wrong but this device matches all my other sensors.Really the only con to this is the temp and humidity sensor are built into the USB-C cable so if you damage it you need to get another factory cable from this company but like I said the included cable is well built so really not a concern.Overall this is a fantastic product and the best device I have ever purchased in terms of making IR devices into voice and app controllable devices and I have tried a number of them.

Nice addition
29 March 2023

I recently received the SwitchBot Hub 2 and have been using it for a few days now. I am impressed with the variety of functions it offers - from being a thermometer and hygrometer to an IR remote control and light sensor, it definitely provides a lot of convenience in one device.Setting up the Hub was fairly easy, although it did take some time to link it to my WiFi network. Once connected, I liked the simplicity of the app interface - it was easy to navigate and set up the different functions. I especially appreciate being able to use it with Alexa and Google Assistant, which allows me to control my devices with voice commands. As for its accuracy as a thermometer and hygrometer, I found it to be reliable - it gave consistent readings that matched up with other ... MoreI recently received the SwitchBot Hub 2 and have been using it for a few days now. The IR remote control function works well too, and I have been able to use it to control my air conditioner, TV, and other devices. The light sensor is a nice addition as well - I like being able to see the brightness level in the app and adjust accordingly.Overall, I would recommend the SwitchBot Hub 2 to anyone looking for a multi-functional device to make their home smarter and more convenient.

Really good little hub
6 April 2023

This is my first switch bot hub and I am really liking it as I can control non smart devices that use IR like lights with remotes,my tv, you can also control switch bot devices. It also detects light and temperature due to this you can create routines like turn a fan on if the temperature gets to a certain temperature or turn it off when it gets too cold. And it works with alexa,Google home and apple homekit. It's really easy to set up , download the switchbot app from your phones app store (if you haven't already) create an account (if you haven't already) you then press the on and off lights until it beeps twice and then the light at the top left will flash quickly> you can then connect to your home WiFi ( it will only connect to the 2.5gz) WIFI signal so you ... MoreThis is my first switch bot hub and I am really liking it as I can control non smart devices that use IR like lights with remotes,my tv, you can also control switch bot devices. You can also add the alexa skill via the alexa app and set routines .if you want to add your app home kit you need to click on the hub within the devices section of the switchbot app then the settings cog at the top right and click on matter configuration. To add a IR remote click on the hub within the devices section of the switch bot app and select add a remote and go through processOverall really liking it , it looks sleek, doesn't take up too much space, and is really easy to use and set up

Slick...
4 April 2023

Excited to see the matter integration in the Switchbot network is going to play out. For now, the Hub 2 is a slick looking upgrade to the mini hub. Love how it looks on my shelf, light is bright and having a humidity sensor is surprisingly gratifying. I've not had a chance to install my contact sensor or my lock after a move, but am looking forward to setting those up and creating security scenes for them. Also intrigued with what types of scenes I might be able to create after the matter integration into other smart home devices that I have. All in all, another solid expansion of the Switchbot ecosystem.

SwitchBot Mini Hub 2 w/Matter
15 April 2023

The Hub seems to work fine within the SwitchBot App. No complaints about that. Seems to be a decent upgrade/add-on to my system using the 1st Gen Mini Hub.I have yet to try using the Matter functionality to add my Tilt Blind devices to HomeKit because of the lack of Group capability. The number of Accessories that can be added to HomeKit (using Matter) is limited, so I want to Group my 3 Tilt Blinds together before integrating into HomeKit. I m unable to do this until SwitchBot re-releases the Group capabilities.Oh. I think an option to have a clock on the Mini Hub 2 display was a missed opportunity.

Works within the smart home environment
29 March 2023

This device is meant to be used as part of a 'smart home' environment--meaning that you have installed devices which can be controlled by your voice or by a hub such as this in order to automate things like turning lights on and off, controlling devices with your voice (ALexa, turn on the TV) or simply triggering certain notifications to you when something happens (Dave, the pod door is open.)Note that if you are newbie to smart devices, this, by itself, cannot turn anything on or off. But the fun is when it is integrated to do useful tasks. This is a hub and sensor combination which also is capable of issuing IR (infrared) commands to appliances which are controlled by remotes--TV's fans etc.The hub can also accurately read room temp and humidity as well as brightness and can be used to trigger events based upon those metrics. For example, it can tell you whether your greenhouse is too hot or too humid and turn on a controlled fan or A/C depending upon how you have programmed it.I find it reliable, well designed and a nice addition to my smart home environment.
