This is a piece of garbage, it didn't work fromThe very beginning. I will return it. I saws couple of reviews saying this, but I hoped it was a fluke. These thing don't work anymore why? It does not make any sense.

Destroyed my new cassette tape the first time I used it! Thought it was user error until I put a second tape in and it did the same thing. Terrible product now I'm out 2 tapes from my book on cassette story. Don't risk it.

I was so excited to get this so I could play some newly discovered cassette tapes of myself, my parents, brother and sister, who have all passed away. All went well for about 10 to 15 minutes, then the player chewed up my tape and I had to disassemble the entire machine to try to unwind it and save it. Now it is very wrinkled and stretched and probably won't be playable. I even tried a second cassette that was newer, and it chewed it up within the first minute of playing it. Don't take any chances with priceless memories on this player! Or maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad one..

I started to listen to a tape I bought in Venezuela. It played less than a minute when I heard a grinding noise. I pressed stop and opened to find the tape tangled and stuck inside. I cannot extricate the tape without cutting it!
One is the lowest star it would allow but I would not give it any if that were an option. Don't waste your time ordering this because it doesn't work at all!! On top of that when I went to the store to return it with my express return they haggled with me and had to call Walmart.com before they would return it because the serial number on the box and the serial number on the item didn't match, WHICH IS HOW IT WAS WHEN I RECEIVED IT!!! After returning this I went ahead and bought another one in the store (different brand) and guess what? That one didn't work either.
The positive thing is this has an external mic which was helpful, but there was still a little bit of background noise that was just like white noise . But the mic helped and it was easy to work, and did the job. The battery has lasted well as I have used it quite a lot in the short amount of time I have had it.
I thought cassette recorders were no longer available but they are and this one is perfect just like the one I had before that wore out. It is everything I wanted and more....like having a slot for MP3's.
Cheaply constructed, noisy little machine with less than stellar sound quality. On the other hand, it works satisfactorily and for the price, it's okay.
Total junk for recording tapes guys. Trust me don't waste your money. I am returning it. We tried everything and this records in a terrible wavey sound. Direct from computer to tape recorder.
my 81 year old mother loves it . taping quality is great, she loves the microphone feature and the plug in adapter very light as well for her to transport
