I really love Tabac shave soap. I thought this EDT would be a nice compliment but I was so wrong. This thing smells nothing like my beloved soap. It has this lingering SOUR smell and it lacks the woody, tobacco base notes present in the shave-soap. I feel bad returning this, so I'll probably give this EDT away. Maybe buy the Cologne instead; I heard it's more similar to the soap.

Last year I had originally purchased a TABAC soap puck from a shaving supply vender along with other shaving equipment razor and a brush. I had been reading about it on the Shave Forums. I had wanted to try it.I have found that TABAC is a superior shave soap once you learn how to load the shaving brush with enough soap. The soap is milled hard and lasts along time. That hardness means you need to take time to soften the soap before making your shave cream from it.I put hot water in the TABAC soap bowl and let it soak for a few minutes while I am preping my face to shave. Once the soap is softened, I use a boar or badger brush that has very little water in it and load the brush for a minute or so.
