Cyclists need a gearshift that responds instantly. The Neo bike's virtual gearshift has solved this challenge. You can even digitally adjust the gears to any configuration you want. Neo technology not only makes the trainer extra quiet, but it also allows for sub-1% precision and power levels up to 2200 watts or 25% incline. This feature ensures realistic control of inertia by ensuring the most natural feel possible by balancing weight, speed and angle - unlike a flywheel. Experience the feel of driving on cobblestones and shifting gears. The "Road Feel" and "Gear Feel" functions simulate the vibrations of different road textures and the shifting of the chain into another gear. Note: Paddles are not included.

A leap forward from the tacx neo direct drive

The move to the Neo bike was far better than I thought it was going to be. Compared to the direct drive turbo the pedalling is so much smoother, no need to constantly tune the groupset, takes slightly less space, no worries about cracking a frame or wrecking a decent bike, easily adjustable far easier than a road bike. Why the Neo? More stable than the Wahoo, less to go wrong, more functions than a Wattbike,I like the integral fans, the ipad holder tray in front of you, Nearly £1000 cheaper but does everything I would want with some snazzy extras not found on all bikes such as two USB charging points. Why from Start Fitness? Excellent service, well stocked with the latest version with easier to use crank length optiins and 10% off my first purchase!

I'm pretty new to cycling, and was looking for a way to get/stay in shape over the winter. I decided to splurge and just buy a smart bike rather than a smart trainer (I'm not handy, and I'm lazy, there's no way I'd be taking my bike on/off a trainer on a regular basis). I'm very happy with the purchase, the bike is great. It's very sturdy, the fans on front are nice, and I've had no problems with it.I'll also add that the customer service from Recovery for Athletes is phenomenal. I've never purchased anything from here before, and I was a little hesitant spending $3000 on a website I'd never used before, but I was having problems finding the bike elsewhere so I went for it. Combined with road feel, it really replicates my outdoor rides when I use the Tacx software and films. Zwift cobblestones are a killer and the smooth tarmac bliss. I love the road feel and getting to as near as possible a real ride indoors. For serious training, the responsiveness is super. Much better than a couple other smart trainers I have (my kid use them now). It also lovely and quiet!I pondered buying this as the cost was pretty high, but now see its a worthwhile investment - even managed to convince two friends to get it (when I say I did, I mean the 'trainer' convinced them!)

Extremely High Quality, Disappointing Performance
9 June 2022

The quality and technology of this machine is as high or higher than everything else on the market. It's a solid product. Here's why it doesn't work for me and my wife:Adjustability - my wife is on the shorter side. According to this seat post, she is best fit at around a 2. However anything under a 4 in seat height requires the adjustment levers to be rotated at less than 1/4-turn every rotation in order to raise or lower the seat. The seat post is justifiably very mechanically difficult to move (if you've ridden other bikes, you'll know one of the most annoying things is a wobbly seat post). Given how tight the seat post is, it would take about 4-5 full turns of the level to loosen it enough to get movement each time. Given how tight the seat post is, it would take about 4-5 full turns of the level to loosen it enough to get movement each time. The 2 of us ride the machine enough in a given week that this amount of effort just to move the seat up and down ~5 inches makes it not worth the money. Not ideal for folks who want to adjust between short riders and average-tall riders.Performance: I've spent the better part of the last year competing in virtual bike racing. My 20-minute average has been around 265 watts of power for the past 6+ months. I got on this thing and played with the settings up, down, in every direction and back to factory default, but the thing feels like it's forcing you to pull a plough behind you. This is a complaint I've seen a lot about this bike but I wanted to give it a shot given the amount of time Garmin/Tacx have had to develop. Unfortunately I ran into the same issue and after 5 minutes of riding it at around 200 watts I'm falling off of it from fatigue on multiple setting levels both on the Tacx app itself and the virtual ridings apps I use.I was really hopeful that this machine would work for us, but it's really designed for individual riders and something is off about how it feels and so we're going to look at alternative options.I think this is a great product and I can honestly say I would recommend it for solo training depending on the feel issues, but it didn't work for us.

Fatness away, Fitness Yay!

I previously had a Tacx NEO 1st Gen Turbo for 4yrs that got hammered everyday, so I knew the technology was decent and proven. After a period of 18m where I got very inactive and sold the NEO and my road bikes, I needed to start from scratch and so the NEO Smart Bike -although twice the price of my previous kit - got me everything I needed in one hit.So far the new equipment has exceeded my expectations and proven a great purchase. I've been really surprised by how much quieter the unit is than the already quiet previous one; not having a bike chain and groups etc etc means that the only things annoyingly audible are my breathing!Everything was super-simple to connect to WiFi, Zwift, and the like so pretty much plug and play. Game Changing for Indoor Cycling Enjoyment
13 February 2023

I’ve had a turbo that I d always felt had ‘an issue’. Some friendly testers told me it was fine.It would clunk away and standing up was pretty much a no no. Changing gears would see the gears click, click, click and slip. So I basically never used it.And then I made the leap to get the Neo Bike. It’s a beauty. Super solid standing or sitting (so I mix it a lot), love the gear change action, and the adaptability of setup position leaves you feeling you’re on your own bike. It’s not cheap (and I wouldn’t shell out the extra grand plus on the newer model) but this bike is sensational. A couple of weeks and my fitness is soaring with daily use. Would never have done this previously with the indoor trainer. Highly recommended.

Great Trainer
11 October 2021

This is a great trainer. It does everything that I would expect from a trainer in this price range. Setup was easy, but requires two people to install the legs, as the center section is very heavy. Some other reviewers claim the center top section rubs on their thighs, but I don't have this problem. I really appreciate the tablet holder and tray in front of the handle bars. The first time I used the trainer, I noticed a very slight clunking feel while pedaling. It turns out the left crankarm pinch bolt needed to be tightened. The bike has been smooth pedaling since. The only minor issue that I have with the bike is that the seat height adjusting handle is too long and hits the top rear section of the bike when trying to rotate the handle 360 degrees. I had a Kickr Bike, and had so many problems with it, I had to get rid of it. The Tacx NEW Bike is most of what the Kickr Bike promised. The packaging is top notch. It doesn't require a trucking company (to my knowledge) to deliver it, so it's not beat up in transit. The assembly was easy. Updates were also easy. Setup for different cassette sizes is a little cumbersome, and the 'brake levers' feel great, but the shifters are not realistic, and hard to find when riding. The fans actually move quite a bit of air. And it's so quiet. Road feel is great, although sometimes it doesn't trigger, or stays on a little too long, but a great feature. All in all, I wish I had bought this instead of the Kickr Bike. I miss the 'climb' functionality, but it's all just gimmicks to keep us interested. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product. It's quiet, it's stable, it's fun to ride, it's reliable (so far), and though it has its quirks, it is a great product.

Love the Technology but not the quality

I preface my review with the comment that I may have had really bad luck. When I got my Neobike it was awesome, looked well made, sturdy assembly was easy but a bit strenuous for someone who is out of shape, to put togther. I rode it for about 4 months and started noticing slippage on uphills. Finally, I did an uphill and it got to the point of not being rideable anymore so I called support, email was terrible, they never responded but phone was great and they sent out a new belt, with a free belt tension tool ($100 if you bought it).So about 3 months later I start feeling the slip again, again I call them and I am told that they have an issue with some of the bikes. I could put a deposit on a replacement while I send mine in ($1500) so I did that. I could put a deposit on a replacement while I send mine in ($1500) so I did that. The bike I got was a used one and did not work from the onset, the flywheel would just start spinning whether I was going uphill or down then it would overheat in about 5 min. So I kept mine and sent the replacement back. They refunded the deposit then I had to do another deposit for another replacement. Again I get a used bike and this time it works so I start using that, after a month I ask how the bike that I sent in is doing and I was told that the way it works is I keep the used bike and we are done. I did not like that but if it works then fine. After a couple of months I start to get disconnects from the bike to the training computer over Bluetooth, it was weird as it would be fine when I started then after 5 miles it would start to disconnect to the point where it stopped connecting altogether. As I tested multiple computers, different OS's, disabled any wireless tech near the bike it just got worse and worse. So I call up Tech support and after a month of waiting for the engineers to get back to me I finally just asked for my money back, which they gave me.To be honest, when the bike worked, it was well worth the money, when it did not the tech support was good and bad but each time it would take about 1 month to get a replacement, about another month to work on troubleshooting with support so in the end, for the year that I had it I got to use it for about 6 months.I still think, maybe if I would have got one more replacement I would have got the good one, the one that did not break in some way or another because I loved the bike itself.I will hand it to Garmin, I bought the bike from Zwift and they still sent me a full refund check, and when I talked to their Tech support they were great so I really hope I just got a lot of bad luck as I still miss doing some of my rides on TACX and even considered using the refund check to buy a brand new one.

Very pleased so far with Neo bike, easy to setup, very well made and super quiet - even quieter than Neo2. Love the fact I can stand up without feeling like I’m going to topple over or break it and I’m 90kg. Gear changes are very slick (make sure to update the firmware!) you get a satisfying jolt through the pedals when you shift gear, its very cool. The bikes storage is good although 2 bottle holders would have been nice, the phone and tablet holders are well implemented. The fans are just alright but a bit annoying you have to go through the app to set them up. Takes a few rides to get the adjustments to your fit, however a handy guide is included to assist.Superb service from Start fitness, excellent price match, arrived on time and well packaged.
