TC Helicon Go Twin 2 Channel Audio Midi Interface For Mobile Devices
Midas 12-Input Digital Mixer for iPad/Android Tablets with Wi-Fi and USB Recorder - MR12 The MR12 from Midas is a 12-input, portable, rackmountable mixer for iPad and Android tablets. It can be used for both live and studio environments in applications for live stage, theater, houses of worship, rehearsals, and more. It features four Midas mic preamps and an integrated Wi-Fi module for wireless control, giving you the ability to move around and manipulate all parameters of your mix. Furthermore, it has USB connectivity for file storage and future system updates. The built-in USB connector makes it easy to store files or record and play back uncompressed stereo WAV files of your mix. You can then dial-in a monitoring mix with effects and zero latency while sending your stereo mix and the keyboard player's MIDI notes to your DAW for recording. The MR12 has additional features including the MIDI in/out jack for controlling the mixer via MIDI equipment, using Mackie control protocol via a live-performance controller. This mixer also comes with several Midas effects, such as a Leisure compressor and leveling amplifier, mid/sides Fair compressor, a 5-band Combinator compressor, modulation delay, Sub Octaver, and an Edison EX1 that enables simple manipulation of the stereo field. Finally, the MR12 includes Sound Maxer and a dimensional chorus effect, which can help you to restore natural sheen and clarity to the original audio signal. Whether you're recording in the studio, or you want to capture intimate live performances, it's never been easier to record professional-sounding tracks with clarity.

Im so happy with this find, which is essentially a budget alternative to a similar, well-known branded device. The TC Helicon GO TWINs preamps have ample gain and are quiet; two channels lets you record stereo signals or two separate sources simultaneously, like vocals and a guitar; although of course, youll need to mic acoustic instruments and vocals. Onboard, dual LED strips give instant feedback on recording levels. The mobile audio interface records at industry-standard 44.1 or 48 kHz sample-rates, which if you do your research is what the pros use and is plenty good enough for high-quality recording as the GO TWIN records everything at 24-bit resolution, giving you ample headroom and accuracy. This device is also very adaptable, with phantom power available for condenser mics, and cables provided for connecting to Apple's iPhones and iPads via lightning or USB-C, as well as just about any desktop or laptop computer via USB. It even has MIDI I/O for connecting a synth or drum machine! The device is battery or USB-powered and two AA batteries are actually provided in the box! The TC Helicon GO TWIN outputs to a headphone mini-jack and/or dual-channel, balanced TRS jacks (you need to get the tip/ring/sleeve "stereo-plugged" cablesnot the mono, TS guitar cablesto carry thebalanced signals to suitably balanced-input monitors). Everything you need to get going is right here, including some basic, fun recording software (downloadable from the TC Helicon website) but if you need a more capable DAW, Apple users can get going immediately with GarageBand. Windows people can choose from several free and very capable programs like Cakewalk by BandLab, or the trial version of Reaper. I don't know Android but I can report that this device is recognised by the FL Studio Mobile app in Windows RT on an ARM-powered Surface 2, which is truly astounding! Although it's geared more for EDM production, FL Studio Mobile is most definitely available for Android (as well as iOS, Chrome OS and Windows Mobile) and it's dirt cheap too. An audio interface with this level of performance, features and flexibility for only around 150 Aussie-bucks is truly amazing value for money, and I cannot recommend the TC Helicon GO TWIN highly enough. It is ideal for beginners in home or mobile audio recording and good enough for anyone short of professional studio audio engineers. Even they might appreciate this cheap and cheerful solution for recording on the go, and I expect this device will surprise many people. Well done TC Helicon.
