This upgrade replaced my three yr old Emerson 32 inch which I got during a Christmas sale at Walmarts for &107. Though a few dollars more than it it was soooo definitely worth the price. You would never know this TV was refurbished. It has all the bells and whistles with built in WiFi and immediate ROKU access and apps being the best features. I ran the tv for ten hours straight out of the box. Hooked up my roof atenna as well though it doesn't really need it as it can stream local channels straight from the router. It is really easy to use and the hardest part to set up is unpacking the material carefully and finding the screws to screw in the legs. (You will need to turn the TV upside down to do that so plan for it) For the price tho, you can't go wrong. You can even hook this up as a monitor for your desktop computer and/or gaming console and switch between your devices without switching up cables. Its all in there Definitely a good buy and a good product. I have been running it like mad for a month to see if there were any problems or if it would fail as the word refurbished tends to put people off. If you are hesitant about buying this tv don't be. The color comes in brilliant (just adjust it to your taste) and the hd it shows is so lifelike on the channels that give it. (it does so automatically). I'm so satisfied with this product that I plan on buying the 55 inch as well. This is not hype just an honest review of a very good experience with the ROKU refurbished 32 inch TV after a month of continuously running the tv for long periods of time throughout the day and night as that's the only way anyone ever really knows whether its worth buying. For me it was cause I cut the cable but I haven't lost the ability to watch the news or movies.

TL;DRRoku TVs are great when the WiFi unit works correctly. I have 6 Roku devices and recommend this brand tv.Had to return this one to the store. It had no Ethernet port to try to connect that way, but after doing 3 factory resets over the course of 3 weeks, the unit would not give a MAC address besides zeros, and therefore could not connect to the internet. The store pawned off the S335 on me instead of this S325 to replace it saying it was the same, even showed me the remote. (I think they did this because they were out of stock, but didn’t tell me that). Ends up the tv they replaced it with doesn’t have the same ports on the back. I have been using Roku streaming devices for about 6 years now, so my review is less about Roku and more about the TV. That said the TV perform faster then the Roku Express it replaced. The picture quality is good for this price range. TCL TV's appear to have good sound. If asked by older friends to help them get a Roku device, I like to recommend a Roku TV over the player, since everything including the inputs come up right in front of you on the screen. What I like. The ease of use. Out of the box, it starts on the home screen, letting you go to the inputs or apps and it goes back to homes screen everything you power on the TV. I also like that in the settings you can change that so it will also start on any TV input you want to start on. What I dislike. The lower power settings give poorer picture quality, however you can change that in the settings. I use an antenna, and I found the channel scan to be subpar, I have multiple TV's on the antenna. The TCL TV took numerous repeated scans to pick up all my available channels. That said, once it picked up a station in the scan, it preform well, as far as locking onto the channel, but it was terrible as far as finding the channels on the scanning process, I had to repeat the scan, perhaps 6 to 7 times to get it to see all my stations. As a bonus it does have a great program guide for all the broadcast channels and gives you the option to pause live TV and find the same program via the Roku Apps. Overall I highly recommend the TV. Well worth the price.
When I bought this TV, I was able to compare this model to the 32S327 (120Hz, 1080p) in person. In my opinion, the differences are very slim. Sound, color, motion seemed the same! The motion on 60Hz looks the exact same as it did on the "120Hz" on the 32S327. Since I am usually up close to my TV (~2 ft) I couldn't even tell the difference between 720P on this model and the 1080P on the 32S327 when I was playing games or watching cable. Both TVs do have the same issue when brightness is turned up over 50, the blacks will have a strobe effect, even when Dynamic Contrast is turned off. Like it fluctuates between dim and bright. It annoyed me at first and I did return my first unit (which was the 32S327). It's still apparent even on the 32S325. It annoyed me at first and I did return my first unit (which was the 32S327). It's still apparent even on the 32S325. So it's either from the Roku OS or TCL. But it does become unnoticeable on brightness settings 50 and under. The panel is nice, blacks are deep and colors are true. There was uniformity across the screen with little to no Dirty Screen Effect. One thing I don't like about this TCL TV is the settings for fine tuning are very limited. For instance, on my old $99 Insignia I used to be able to customize speaker settings (bass, treble, balance, etc.) On this TCL, you can only choose from factory presets. They aren't bad speakers, but I would've liked to see more advanced options for $130. The stands are okay. Overall, it is better than my old Insignia though. There aren't many options for TVs around $130, let alone Smart TVs. But if you're thinking about this TV, I'd say get it. Save an extra $20 and opt for this model over the 32S327, you get a newer model, and the extra $20 isn't worth the fake 120Hz. Or use that $20 and buy the protection plan. It's a very nice, almost perfect TV from TCL.
I bought my TCL Roku TV after first buying a Roku Ultra (and cutting the cord from a terrible cable company) three years ago, and until recently I have gladly recommended Roku devices to others. I have even purchased a Roku stick for traveling. I recommended Roku because this is a hardware device that allows me to stream the content that I want, when I want.Or, rather, it used to be. Roku is apparently desiring to become a content gatekeeper now, the way cable companies have been. Roku is apparently desiring to become a content gatekeeper now, the way cable companies have been. Recently, HBO started a streaming service called HBO Max, which gives subscribers access to all regular HBO "cable" content, plus an expansive library of movies and series not carried through the HBO network TV channels. Accessing this expanded library of content requires the HBO Max app, which Roku is refusing to carry in its app store. Therefore, I cannot watch the streaming catalog offerings of HBO Max on any of my Roku devices.Other content-related issues have frustrated many Roku users lately. It seems that Roku is no longer a hardware manufacturer, but instead has become the content gatekeeper that pushed streamers into cutting the cord from cable to begin with. I can no longer recommend the Roku brand, the same way I would not recommend a brand of laptop computer if the manufacturer blocked users from installing certain software.
This unit was a great replacement for our old, bulky bedroom TV. The Roku Smart TV function allowed us to disconnect the unit from the cable and still have access to all of our streaming and Xfinity functions. Picture quality is excellent. Sound is mediocre at best, so a separate sound system would be recommended if you want to use this model for serious watching. This is a great, economical option for a secondary TV.Only complaint is that between uses, the TV often drops the wifi connection and must run thru the reconnect steps.
I recently purchased this television after some exhaustive research for a "cheap tv" for bedroom. Having never heard of TCL, I was also hesitant, but for the price, I figured I would try it and I am happily surprised. (cant speak to long term prospects yet). I tried some of the various apps and everything seemed very responsive and smooth. I have another vizio Smart TV and the apps in it seem very clunky and not as smoothly integrated as the roku. The roku app/remote is a very cool and useful addition. I was very happy to see the recent upgrade in the roku software that allows you to pause live TV for up to 90 minutes.I think the fact that this tv is 720p, and not 1080p or 4k might lead people to believe this TV is substandard or obsolete, but for 95% of the programming, you will never see the difference so paying a premium for a crazy high resolution is usually just a waste.I would happily purchase this Tv again if I was in the market and would recommend you atleast give it a fair look if you are in the market for a smaller/bedroom tv.
It gets 3 stars because as a TV it works.Unlike most remotes for Roku it has a mute button, nice. But the Roku being the OS leaves much to be desired. It’s nice if you have an antenna hooked to it, the Roku OS can see those over air programs and report that a show you have an interest in is available, along with a group of selected by Roku channel apps, it will search the apps too.So telling Roku to follow The Big Bang and it will see it on the over the Air channels. This can not be done with an add on Roku device to a TV, that is, see the over air programming. But the love stops there. My set just purchased 4 months ago has upgraded to 8.0, it’s been months since a new 8 dot release of Ruko OS has out and I have yet to see it on the TV. My Roku Streaming stick plus picked it up. My guess is this set will never see it.Worst and I don’t know if it’s because the TV is behind in its OS, PlayStation Vue’s app doesn’t seem the same as my Roku stick, the stick has a proper TV guide, time line arcross the top in columns, the TCL TV? A guide with Now, and Next, I kid you not.On any given channel you can see what is on now and what is coming up, that is it.Now I’m not sure it’s because the OS isn’t the current that I’m not getting the same TV guide, you will get nothing out of either Roku nor PlayStation, both seem to have outsourced their support to cheap labor, who never really will answer your question. So I had to spend about $65 for another Roku Plus stick. My advice by a regular TV, then the disposable streaming device.Personally I would go with the Vizio for $148, none smart, add a streaming device.
i bought this TV in april and my mom bought a slightly bigger one soon after.less than a month of having them they both starting experiencing audio issues. there are several volume modes to choose from and my mom and i both found “night” to be the best. it makes dialogue loud enough and action scenes quiet enough to enjoy listening without worrying about our neighbors. sadly, we’ve been experiencing issues on both tvs where both “night” and “leveling” completely cut off audio. no sound at all. every now and then there will be audio in these modes, but it is extremely scratchy and uneven.on my mothers larger tv, everytime we rewind we have to cycle through the volume modes to get the audio to restore. everytime. my mom rewinds a lot.i find this to be ... Morei bought this TV in april and my mom bought a slightly bigger one soon after.less than a month of having them they both starting experiencing audio issues. there are several volume modes to choose from and my mom and i both found “night” to be the best. it makes dialogue loud enough and action scenes quiet enough to enjoy listening without worrying about our neighbors. sadly, we’ve been experiencing issues on both tvs where both “night” and “leveling” completely cut off audio. no sound at all. every now and then there will be audio in these modes, but it is extremely scratchy and uneven.on my mothers larger tv, everytime we rewind we have to cycle through the volume modes to get the audio to restore. everytime. my mom rewinds a lot.i find this to be unacceptable for a tv of this price. it’s extremely irritating as none of the volume modes actually work, which makes it difficult to hear everything happening. volume mode has to be off in order to hear anything. i paid for both of these tvs and they both have identical problems.i haven’t experienced any other problems but this one was enough to make me write a review, which i rarely do. i don’t regret my purchase necessarily, if this was fixed the tv would be perfect.i’m rating it as average because it does everything expected but the audio problems are unacceptable.
