SLOW! full of bloat apps that can't be deleted (even though a few of them can't be used in oz) internal Chromecast is all but useless, and apps that do function are slow to respond and often stop working for no apparent reason. Pic and sound quality are fine, and if you don't mind watching all of your apps using an external Chromecast, it's not too bad. It's the 'smart' components of this tv that are a total let down. Also - I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to bury the sleep function 4 clicks deep via the screensaver settings, but it took 20 mins of google searching just to figure out how to set the sleep timer...not great.

My TV died one morning when I turned it on. Being a big TV watcher, I needed to replace it that day. My first call was made to The Good Guys, as I'd had excellent service from them on a number of occasions in the past. A very helpful lady asked me what my needs were to select an appropriate TV. I was delighted when she recommended a TCL which was on sale, saving me approximately $100. I was sent the Digital Invoice to pay for the TV. Once I completed that transaction, I was then able to ask a friend of mine to pick it up for me. Excellent outcome. I was back enjoying my TV that day. I have utilised this payment system in the past. I am delighted with my TCL. So easy to set it up. I bought this to replace an old TV that didn't have bandwidth and couldn't get certain channels. The store had them on special and II had been told that they were pretty good. I mentioned at the time that it was for my wife who for medical reasons cannot handle any tech and needs simplicity. The store had no demo models and I bought this on faith. I have been using computers from the days of DOS and 40Mb hard drives and am pretty good with most tech and menu systems. The remote on this TV is absolutely ridiculous. It has no channel numbers. It is easy to go to Netflix, Prime, Stan, Disney by just pushing a button. The problem is getting back to free to air TV. There are numerous ways but the buttons are all icons and require round about ways to get there. However, for non-tech orientated people it is nearly impossible and make the whole TV useless.On the positive side, the picture is reasonable and the sound better than the old TV with the limitations of a small TV and therefore small speakers. If you are ok with the remote and used to it, the functionality is good albeit a bit slow. Personally, I would rather pay a bit more and get the above stuff out of the picture. I may have to look at the feasibility of an aftermarket programable remote.

Audio is much better than I expected compared to just a few years ago when budget TV's had budget sound to match the low price. The TCL sound is quite good. Now for the bad news. The remote control is woeful. It's complicated, slow and sometimes won't respond to button clicks. In particular, when turning TV on, it takes a full two to three minutes before the remote will respond to user input. Maybe it just needs to boot up ? Don't know, but I'm willing to accept this shortcoming and accept the good features of the picture and sound. Netfix and YouTube work great which is my normal viewing. No doubt there are better quality Smart TVs on the market, but with higher prices to go with the better quality. However this TV does everything I require. Picture quality is fine, sound is good and it allows Bluetooth connection to a soundbar for improved sound. It was easy enough to set up using my google account, updating software and apps as it went. We have had it for few weeks and so far find it hard to fault. My only quibble is some of the streaming apps seem to flicker from time to time while watching a program. But overall I'm happy and think it would suit most needs especially for those who are budget conscious.
A good price but you pay for what you get. Average picture quality and serious lag in-app and changing between apps. And if you have an episode on pause it eventually goes to a screensaver, but when you hit play again it's back on the TCL home screen, not even the app home screen let alone the episode where you paused it. So you then have to go back to the app and back to the episode which takes time because of the lag. I returned it and spent the money on a better quality product. If you can afford to, it's worth it. If not, it does the job and has all the latest apps.
Bought on sale for the bedroom. Reasonably easy to set up. Could have done with more storage space, had to remove some pre-installed apps before I could install others. It's quite slow to start up and the volume control is pretty poor, have to hold the buttons down for a few seconds before anything happens and then you find it's either gone too loud or too quiet all of a sudden. Image is pretty good but don't watch the TV from an angle, as the image gets pretty washed out. Would I buy another one Probably not, unless these little bugs can be sorted via software updates. Definitely wouldn't pay full price for one.
My tv can not link to my 5G so this is grossly effecting performance. Will only connect to my 4G and if a single other device is using the internet it comes to a standstill. Very hard to leave a review as if the device could connect to 5G it would be a totally different story. One thing I have noticed is that to use the sleep timer there is no button on the remote and you have to scroll through loads of menus to get your tv into sleep mode. Considering sleep buttons have been on remotes for about 30 years this is a massive oversight. Bought this a few days ago and surprised how many apps and features this has. Read a lot of reviews about how slow it is and all but works just fine. Comes with a 3 year warranty also. Bought a wall mount and mounted on wall, very simple. Comes with stand also included in pack. Easy to setup Wi-Fi and download apps. Sound is good too, if you want the home theatre experience, buy something bigger and better. I like it, serves the purpose.
Remote not very user friendly. No number pad for channels. Allchanges have to be done via the screen. I am a 77 yr old. Bought this tv for bedroom. I am changing channels from bed - 3-4m. Text on screen not large and bold. Is there a more user- friendly remote for this tv Also as its for bedroom a sleep button would have been good To set sleep, i have to make 3-4 moves through system settings. Because of this i would not be recommending this tv for a bedroom, especially for a senior.
