An excellent TV for your bedroom

TCL 4K UHD TV, I have a 43" diagonal. I love it, it's very bright, light and thin, perfect for my bedroom. The sound quality is also high, the volume is quite strong, you can hear it perfectly even at 6-8, unlike many other TVs. I set it up quickly enough by downloading the Google app. And additionally entering my Wi-Fi password. I also liked the remote control, which has a quick access button to YouTube, which is very convenient for me. TCL also offers a 90-day guarantee for registering on their website, which can be helpful.

It's so, SO nice to not have to worry about crap tv interfaces anymore. As much as I wish GoogleTV wasn't so packed with ads, I do understand they need to pay the bills. And it's a lifesaver for cheaper OEMs like TCL, Vizio, Hisense, etc - no longer do they need to spend money on developing their own, probably awful OS - just like Android, they can slap GoogleTV on there and at least people will be able to find their way around. It's even more important for TVs than phones because the hardware is so much more limited - if you have to spend 5 seconds waiting for a remote button press to actually do anything onscreen, you really want to know you're going to the right place, and GoogleTV helps develop muscle memory. As for the hardware itself? It's fine, you get what ... MoreIt's so, SO nice to not have to worry about crap tv interfaces anymore. As for the hardware itself? It's fine, you get what you pay for - the audio is passable, the brightness could be a little better but fine for the cost. All and all, for the sale price at Target, I think it's worth buying. I have had mine for a month now, and I think I'll be buying another one to replace an 8 year old Vizio in my bedroom.

Shockingly good, at an exceptional value!

29 September 2024

I purchased this right before my 65 inch Roku TV gave up on me. I had my Roku for over five years and the only reason why I gave up on me was because my son actually broke it so the TV was not gonna give up anytime soon, so I decided to get another one from target ,This by far was the worst purchase I ever made in target and I’m so mad that I didn’t get warranty nor that I can’t bring back this TV , nearly $600. Yes it was a great price but for the TV to break within two months that ridiculous you guys gotta do better with the TV model and even if I would’ve did a warranty for three months, I still wouldn’t got my money worth. But by far, let me state that from the time we purchased this TV we had no problems. Everything was perfect until two months down the line.

Awesome tv especially for the price. I don’t get why you would get any other brand. I was always loyal to Sony, but now I’ll be loyal to this cheaper brand. Video games look amazing on it and so does college football which is the primary use for this tv. It’s huge, if Best Buy delivers it, remember that they don’t take the packaging away. It’s literally just a delivery. That was the only bad part about delivery especially them not setting up the tv. Doing it by yourself isn’t the most fun on such a big television. Great tv though.

As for my 14-year-old? He’s a tech wizard, so within minutes, he was downloading apps, setting up voice commands, and telling the TV to play his entire playlist of Lo-fi beats for studying... though, mysteriously, I’ve yet to see any studying. The picture quality is amazing, so real it’s almost creepy. I walked in one night, and for a second, I thought he had invited a celebrity over to hang out. Nope, it's just the 4K doing its thing again. And the HDR? It’s like every movie scene has been sprinkled with magic. I half-expect to get blinded whenever I open the door, and sunlight hits the screen. In conclusion, this TV is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, my 14-year-old is happier than ever. On the other hand, I now have to bribe him to leave his room. Do yourself a favor—if you’re buying this for your teen, you might want to also invest in a good old-fashioned intercom system because you’ll need it!Five stars, would lose my child to it again.

I have severely mixed feelings about this TV. I bought it to replace a 49” TCL 4k TV I’ve had for about 5 years. The screen is very nice. The bezel is very thin so the screen barely has a border. Once you set the picture to your liking, movies, TV, and YouTube all look great. It’s not going to compete with sunlight, but the screen is bright. I turned my brightness to about 65% (but I mostly watch at night and/or in a darkened room).Connected instantly with my Sony soundbar, and controls its volume with the tv remote. I HATE that when you adjust volume there no number or progress bar to show you how far you have it to min or max. It has a little pop up display that shows you are adjusting the volume, but not if it’s at 50% or 100%. Not a dealbreaker but I never ... MoreI have severely mixed feelings about this TV. It has a little pop up display that shows you are adjusting the volume, but not if it’s at 50% or 100%. Not a dealbreaker but I never thought I’d miss such a small feature. The issue I have is that the google software is SLOW. My older TCL is a Roku TV which for the most part is much faster. Booting up it’s got a TCL logo, then an animated TCL logo and then a Google logo. Going from menu to menu and to apps there’s a mild delay. It does not seem to have a very good antenna to catch WiFi. I pay for gigabit Verizon fios and I live in a small apartment. It took a couple of attempts to get the TV to even connect to WiFi, and then it updated its software and took like 20+ minutes. It then could barely connect to the apps to let me log in to my streaming services. The other OLDER TCL tv I moved to bedroom continues to have no issues with connection or streaming. After turning the TV off, restarting my network, and letting it sit for a bit, it established a better connection… sufficient enough to finish setup and get my apps going. But trying to stream in 4k on Disney+ or YouTube causes constant buffering. Again, no issues with any other device in my apartment (multiple computers, iPad, phone, PlayStation and other TV), only this TV.Not impressed that my brand new, out of the box TV has issues the 5+ year old TV doesn’t have. Especially since it’s meant to replace the old tv as my primary entertainment device. What’s the point of having a 4K TV if the only thing you can watch is a spinning circle in the middle of the screen?I don’t know if it’s possible, but a firmware update to add volume numbers would be a good start. But I haven’t found a solution to the WiFi issue online other than to check my network (duh), try unplugging the TV for a minute (can’t wait to have to do this on the regular), or factory reset the tv (fantastic, another entire night devoted to setting up everything again).

The picture on the this tv is bright and very clear! I love it! The sound is good but that wasn’t a big concern to me because I have the tv connected to surround sound! Very easy to setup and figure out! Very easy to use! The salesman was very informative and very helpful! He helped me make my decision. I came home to think about it then decided I was getting it. Ordered it online and went to the store and they were so quick and told me to pull to the front and they measured to make sure it would fit and loaded it very carefully! [Rewarded Review] Great TV for the Money
4 July 2024

Excellent picture. Easy to setup. It needed a lot less tweaking to get a great picture than my other new Hisense TV I recently bought for my man cave. I have this one in the living room mounted on the wall and everyone thinks it is a good upgrade over the older 75 inch Samsung I had. It is a great buy for the money. Of course you could spend more money on a full array local dimming TV the is QLED, but this one is just fine. This is the biggest TV I ever bought and must say it was the easiest to setup. Mounting was a breeze too. It has a very bright picture and works well in my living room which gets a lot of sunlight.
