Having had a disappointing experience with a small oil free compressor that I bought from Toolstation less than 12 months ago - it failed and when I requested a replacement, it was discontinued, so was forced to consider an alternative machine. This proved to be a great opportunity to reconsider my original purchase, having learned the lesson that the first machine was so noisy it rattled your fillings! The Einhell machine was a little more expensive but is beautifully made, very compact and oh, so quiet. the machine overall is considerably quieter than my previous unit, however alittle confusion as the website stated 56dbs and the machine says 76dbs on the chassis. its a good wee runner for the money. i use this in a very small man cave so its ideal while i work.
How are organisations allowed to call something silent when it clearly not silent? A definition of silent: “Not making or accompanied by any sound”. The compressor is only silent when it is not running. If the compressor was, in fact, silent, it would not have a decibel rating. This compressor does have a decibel rating and is, therefore, not silent. In every day use, this compressor makes too much noise for use inside a house and is only suitable for use in a workshop or shed.
It says 57dB on the box and 78dB on the compressor itself. It's definitely the 78 although not tested. And I'm still impressed with this compared with my old compressor.
This is an excellent super quiet compressor which we have been using to spray masonry paint on the exterior pebble dashed walls. It has worked away with no issues spraying using a high pressure spray gun and a 15m hose line. Need to check what connections you are using as this compressor comes with EU standard fittings, simply made a adaptor to convert to British quick fit couplings and vice versa. Since purchased more 'Air' tools!
Quiet compressor with a small footprint.I hope it remains quiet on the long term as well.It takes quite a bit of time to fill the air tank, this is currently the only drawback I see

Purchased this compressor as I don't want to be deafened while working in my garage.I was sceptical about exactly how noisy it would be but after plugging it in and fitting the feet and air filter I was surprised by how quiet it actually was.Fills quickly and you could work next to it for hours without getting a headache.Is it silent? No.But it's the next best thing in all honesty.I checked it with a couple of phone apps and was getting readings of around 60db up close to between 50-55 from a metre away.Way better than the cheap £50 ones kicking around on eBay that sound like a tumble drier full of spanners.Nicely weighted and carry handle fits nicely to make life easy.All in all I'm very happy with this and will be getting plenty of use out of it.
