Tefal FV5844 UltraGlide Plus Steam Iron

I bought this iron to replace the tefal iron I had. Not as good as previous one. The flex is very short needs to be longer. Also it is difficult to see the water level when you pour it in.Have bought Tefal irons for years as they are in my opinion superior to most others. Bit disappointed but still think it irons well.

I returned the iron as it was too heavy for my wrist. Seemed excellent except that I had not researched the weight and realized that it would be too heavy for me. Changed to a lighter iron. Good Guys were out standing in their customer service. Would highly recommend their knowledgeable and helpful staff to facilitate this change over.

COULD BE BETTER

Iron not very well balanced and is first one I have ever purchased that does not fit into metal cradle on ironing board... it's too top heavy and falls out which forces you to leave it standing on board and is not very stable, safe and takes up room on board.Next time will do a little more research and physical checking in store. Somewhat heavier than one it replaced, after a while, you certainly notice it on wrist ! Unfortunate quick purchase and now stuck with it.

Cant tell the water level

The picture above and the actual iron are different. Mine is a dark blue and you cant see where the water level is at. I contacted Tefal and was told to fill to Max. Really! You cant even see the water thru the DARK blue plastic. Of course I replied to the Max comment but they have not replied to me.

Great features. Easily controlled and easy to use. Feels good in the hand.

The brand.., been my favourite for some years. Its a decent weight with simple, features. Plenty of extras with shots of steam , easy to follow directions and great results.

Happy Ironing

Happiness is an iron that doesn't leak! My new Tefal huffs and puffs a bit but no leaks. It's the smoothest iron I've used and is great on linens. I chose this brand over the others because the base looked broad and sturdy. I made the right choice.

Iron Review

The iron glides well over clothes. The Turbo shot is good. Not too sure about the steam and of the three buttons to operate one does not work! Good Guys lady said it was supposed to be like that but Im not happy or convinced. Instructions are very difficult to interpret.

It's ok but wouldn't do it again

The coating is coming off and I've only had it maybe 2 weeks. The handle has the boost button underneath which means you push it more than you should. As it's a dark cour it's hard to see how much water is in it. - wouldn't buy again plus regret not spending the extra to get decent steam station.

So far so good.

I was after a lightweight iron. The one I chose was not in stock so the sales lady pointed me in the direction of the Tefal. Though it is a bit heavier than what I wanted the surface of the iron glides across the fabric and the plate size reduces the arm movement required to iron an item. One thing which could be improved is the length of the cord. I have had to move the board around to get free movement of the cord from the PowerPoint to the end of the board

Very impressive.

Very impressed with this iron. It does what it advertises and the inclusion of so many steam jets make it a lot easier and quicker to iron. Unwanted creases are despatched quickly, intentional creases keep their shape well. I haven’t yet used the garment steaming option, but like the idea.
