I am pleased with my purchase. I needed to replace my old steam generator iron, which had served me well for over a decade. There are so many other brands available on the market I spent a great deal of time reading up on the reviews, none of which helped me to decide as I found many of the opinions conflicting. So in the end I elected to stay with Tefal. I bought this iron on sale, it was quite an expensive outlay at full price, although comparative with other brands.I found my new iron glided beautifully over various fabrics, even fleece and true to their claim, there were no steam tramlines. The variable steam/fabric setting on the handle is a nice feature and I like the pressure and volume of steam that comes out as you iron. It has made ironing faster (even though my previous iron was a much older Tefal model). My husband has a pair of shorts he loves to wear, but I hate to iron, because of all the pockets and a weird extra strip of fabric under the seat area. But I managed to tackle them beautifully and in extra quick time with this iron (hence the 5 stars). I thought the led light was just a gimmick, but I’m actually a big fan of this feature, now I have used it. I was initially surprised that there was no temperature dial and was cautious using the delicate steam setting, but I needn’t have worried. It performs equally well, whether I am ironing cotton sheets or delicate tops. The irons cables and steam hose are plenty long enough for my large ironing board. The iron s weight is not too heavy, in fact it glides so well I don’t really notice if it is heavier or lighter than my old one. I find it well built and easy to refill. I always let my ironing build up, as I dislike this chore. So I iron until the water tank is empty, which was about an hour, so plenty of time to get the job done (or at least put a sizeable dent in it!). I read one review which said the handle was uncomfortable and had sticky out bits. I can only assume they meant the winged base, which I found a nice feature, giving the iron stability when you set it down in the upright position and the handle easy to grip. In summary I am very happy with my purchase and am pleased with my decision to stick with Tefal (if you’ll pardon the pun). Well done Tefal.

So I’d owned four or five previous Tefal steam generator irons and they’d been reliable and efficient. I took the plunge and bought the new Pro Express Vision GV9822GO. It’s a great iron, works extremely well. I got a £300 discount on it, so paid £249.99 which is about what I’d want to pay, I would not have bought it at full price for one simple reason, the water container is woefully small for a weeks worth of ironing (two adults) I usually have to fill the tank twice, whereas my older model with larger capacity would do it in one hit.Water tank aside, it does what it should and I’d recommend this iron to others.

This is a vast improvement on my previous Morphy Richards steam generator. It’s intuitive and very effective. I like having the choice of controlling the steam manually, as well as the ‘smart’ option. A small but useful detail is the iron can be sat upright in its heel, which my previous one couldn’t, which found annoying. A couple of minor points which resulted in 4 rather than 5 stars - the instructions are all just pictures, and even then are not very helpful. I’ve worked most things out for myself by just using it. But written instructions would have been helpful. Also, I still can’t work out how to store the thick steam cable. It looks like it should feed into the base of the generator, but I can’t do it. Lastly, when using the iron on normal or max, when I use ... MoreThis is a vast improvement on my previous Morphy Richards steam generator. It’s intuitive and very effective. Otherwise, a great product. Cheers

I think there is a design problem with this iron. The electricity cable is on the right of the unit. The cord from the iron to the water chamber is on the left. The cord on the left is not flexible so gets in the way when I am ironing, consequently the hot iron comes into contact with the cord. Eventually this Will damage the sheath around the cord. This is unlike my previous Tefal steam generator where both the cord and the electricity cable were on the right hand side of the unit. Having said that, it does iron very very well with little effort. Not sure if the light is an advantage unless you are ironing in the dark. I have already provided this feedback to Tefal who did not seem interested.
Compared to our last unit which died after 5 years this unit is advertised at about £100 more than our last one (£549.99) but has less features. We miss the retractable electric cord and the hose doesn't stow away as neatly. The water tank can be difficult to remove. In all, the whole unit feels cheap and flimsy. On the plus side, the sole plate is the same size as our old one and the results after ironing are really good (if not slightly better) than our old one. Would I prefer my preferences over the quality of ironing? I definitely would if I'd paid full price - but i didn't.
Last steam generator gave up after 5 years, so hoping this lasts as long. Reviews are to some extent worthless at such an early stage (2 weeks old) - longevity is what's important - will it still be performing in years 1/2/3/4/5 etc. At this stage I'm impressed - excellent at it's job. No weaknesses discovered. Impressive steam (can't see a need for the boost button) and available even on the minimum settings - which some irons don't have. Glides beautifully. Time will tell how good the build is. I will update if necessary
This is my first steam generator iron. I’m happy with using it. However, the Smart function isn’t great. Probably too simple in what it is monitoring as often it’ll express steam at odd times, delay the delivery of steam for a few seconds or turn off the steam whilst actively using the iron.Other than that I’m happy with it but think twice about whether an older/lower feature iron would suffice as you could probably save a fair bit if it will do.Similar to other reviews that I’ve read, it can generate a lot of steam to the point that water drips from the sole plate. Not an issue for me as I hang up items to ensure they are fully dry before putting them away, but not everyone has that space or expectation.
I purchased this after my eight year old Tefal steam station broke and I decided to upgrade rather than repair it. I’m very happy with the Pro Express Vision so far; it is quieter and more powerful than my previous steam station, and has cut down the time it takes to iron. I like the fact that it has a light which means I can iron while watching a movie and don’t need the overhead light on. It is very easy to use, it heats up in about 2 minutes and provides continuous steam. It has an auto mode so it can turn on and off as you pick it up and use it - I prefer the old fashioned method and squeeze the trigger as I want steam. The power cord could be longer and it does not retract - however that is one of the things that broke on my previous steam station which I had ... MoreI purchased this after my eight year old Tefal steam station broke and I decided to upgrade rather than repair it. If you’re looking to upgrade from a regular iron to a steam station you’ll never look back.
Purchased to replace a Tefal Express Pro Iron that had started to fail. The steam pressure significantly higher than on the new iron and so far it has performed well. The one thing that does let it down is the lack of mains cable storage (automatic on the old one) and it is stored using a velcro strap.Yet to see how it behaves once it starts to calc up as we suffer from hard water. The addition of the light seems to be helpful. Have not used the automatic on/off steam feature yet.
Good iron - does what I needed. I was replacing a steam generator iron, so I was used to not setting the temerature, so this was my main requirement. I also wanted to have easy to de-caulk and not need replaceable parts, as some of the irons live longer than spares. I also had looked at the handle and how easy it was to use/hold, some of teefal irons had a more angular handle (man sized? as my OH said it was fine, but it would make my hand hurt if I used it for too long) - but this one is good. They are so expensive though.Does it live up to expectations - in the main yes, BUT the auto steam leaves things looking unironed, however if I press the button to boost the steam, its good.
