I'm VERY picky about my pillows. Once I got used to memory foam, my go-to for years was Perfect Pillow. Only, about 4 years ago they changed the "formula" and it just was not as comfortable as previous models. As a result, I've been using my same old trusty one from 5 years ago, and have been unable to find a suitable replacement. I wasn't sure this pillow would work, but I took a leap of faith. Not going to lie, I 100% expected to be tossing and turning the first night, or to wake up with a headache/neck ache. Two nights of good sleep so far, with no pain! It does have a slight chemical smell that is fading (reminds me of a sharpie marker) so that might bother some. It's more on the firm side, but has been working for stomach and side sleeping.

The Symphony pillow is my favorite Tempur-pedic pillow so far. I am a medium build woman with square shoulders that measure about 5 inches out, and I sleep on my side and back. This pillow is perfect for me in either position, and I love that it's soft and not too firm but still feels supportive. It also is just right as a between-the-legs pillow since it's not too thick. The Tempur-Cloud pillow is not supportive enough for me, and the Tempur-Ergo Cooling Neck Pillow was way too firm for me, felt like a rock. My elderly husband loves his Tempur-Adapt Pro + Cooling Lo pillow, but that one is too soft and too flat for me. He likes it because he wears an oxygen cannula at night that wraps around his ears, so a firm or high pillow hurts his ears. I had been suffering from constant headaches, at least two or three a week, and was getting very desperate to fix the problem. I was a little skeptical buying a pillow for $100+, but who isn't? The first night of sleep completely changed my life. Not only did I not wake up with a headache, but I also fell asleep faster and slept completely through the night, better than I had in a very long time. Pair this with a quality mattress and I don't think anyone would have any complaints. The different shape for each side works out great for my wife and I (had to get her one too!), because I'm a back sleeper and she's a front/side sleeper, and she absolutely loves hers too. I was having back and neck pain because I had a really old pillow. I was recommended the Symphony by a friend of mine who has slept on an older model for 5+ years and absolutely loves it. Whether a pillow will be good for you as an individual is hard to gauge just through online descriptions/without trying it for a few weeks (or even more). I have had it for a few months now and I am happy with it! Though I am not as in love with it as my friend is (I am a side sleeper and it's a bit firm for my taste), it has totally fixed my pain and I think my neck appreciates the support even if I don't love the feel initially. One pillow isn't going to be perfect for everyone but my guess is that the Symphony will work for almost anyone.
I must have a defective pillow because it's the opposite of soft. I bought the temper cloud cooling pillow for my husband, which is listed as a medium firm pillow, and we both sink right into it, it's amazing. But I haven't been able to sleep in 2 nights because the symphony is NOT soft. If you are a back sleeper, the curved side is nice but as a side sleeper, don't get this pillow. I wind up laying on top of the pillow (no sinking at all), which is pretty high, which then cricks my neck too far the wrong way. Ugh. This has to be a defect. I don't sink into the pillow at all, it's not soft or comfortable or anything that has felt like a tempurpedic pillow, which I have slept on previously for years. It's a big piece of hard foam. What a waste of money.
30 years ago or so I bought this pillow and it was amazing! Slept good, super comfortable, no neck pain when I woke up and it overall improved my sleep quality. I give my old pillow to my wife because it is still good and decide to buy myself another one. Big mistake! They don't feel like the same pillow anymore! Not as comfortable as the one I bought 20 years ago, or any of the good qualities I listed above. It's almost as though they are using a material that is not as good as the one they were using back then. Anyway, I don't recommend this pillow anymore.

However since tempur-pedic does not offer returns or trial periods, and my boyfriend sleeps on the older version temper-symphony pillow I felt my opinion is valid. To sum my thoughts up I want to say my boyfriends older model of this pillow has a more medium firmness, has nice quality support laying on your back, side, and or stomach. My hopes were given up when my soft density, ok support depending on your body frame, newer knock-off version arrived. In all the newer temper-symphony pillows do not feel like the older ones, and I am still on my quest to find my perfect pillow. I had back pains and actually horrible shoulder problems due to my old pillow. I sleep face up the majority of the time and the only thing that would get rid of the really excruciating shoulder pain was going to the chiropractor to get my whole upper body adjusted. Keep in mind, I am a healthy 25 year old. I was iffy to get this pillow (decently expensive for a pillow I thought) but I am more than glad I got this. I have not had any back or shoulder problems since, and fall asleep MUCH easier than before. The pillow is shaped very well, cushions your head nice enough to not have your neck at a bad position and conforms to your shoulder.
