This is a very different fragrance from what my partner usually wears. For reference, he usually wears Versace Eros. So Terre D’Hermes, while also the embodiment of a Greek God like Versace Eros, the fragrances could not be more different. Terre D’Hermes is heavily citrusy🍊 and woodsy🪵. The citrus and woodsy notes are the first notes to hit the nose, which can be a little overwhelming if you are not used to citrusy scents. Lovely blast of orange and vetiver with hints of beautiful cedar. This is a great office safe, enjoyable fragrance for those who are in a professional setting. The vetiver is a clean and crisp vetiver that holds on to your skin, leaving a nice long lasting effect. The vetiver is great for those who do not have a love for the note; it's not grassy or dirty in any way. The perfect fragrance to meet the president of your country or just take a walk with your good friends. Accurate balance of citrus and dry out as God commands. It smells like old oranges laid on humid earth, in the good sense of the word. I do not know how the master, Jean-Claude Ellena, got the earthy smell, but it is amazing. Awesome performance of minerals in perfumery. I can not say it's my favorite, it's not even in my top 5, but TDH is a "must have it" if you like the citrus. The disadvantage is that the price is too high for many budgets, but to have a classy aroma, you have to make the sacrifice. In short words, extremely exquisite, smells expensive and it is an excellent investment if you love the smell of orange.

Most consider this a fall or spring fragrance but it works well in the summer outside of the very hottest days and in the winter when the spice beneath the citrus really shines. Can't ask for much more in a fragrance.

I’m an easy to please fragrance fan. I’ve heard Terre d’Hermes get described as a “masterpiece” multiple times. Most fragrance aficionados would actually agree. However, in my 50-100 bottle collection, this is easily one of the least likeable ones I own. Not only do I not enjoy it as much as I enjoy my others, I have never received a positive comment when wearing it. This opens as a very woody and citrusy fragrance that settles down into a vetiver bomb (and not much else). This fragrance is pretty much only vetiver to me, and that is not what I’d call a masterpiece. Most people disagree with me, especially so since this fragrance is on multiple “greatest of all time” lists, but I cannot recommend this.

Terre d'Hermes was the first fragrance I ever bought, way back in 2009 and now, 13 years later I'm pleased to say it smells as timeless as ever. My initial thoughts was about how cute the packaging was and how tight the cap was on, that was my favorite part. My partner thought it was nice packaging and when he tried it out, he liked the scent. One of the main issues he gave it a 3 star was due to the longevity of the fragrance. He’s a heavy sprayer, so he would spray up to 8 times to coat himself in any fragrances. He found the scent will go away within 30 mins or less, which he didn’t like. The lingering scent wasn’t overpowering, but he counts smell the fragrance anymore.
