I've been wearing and buying this sandal for around 25 years and this year it no longer works for me. Nothing has changed on my end.My experience: Teva made the side toe strap wider so that it sags and no longer supports. It looks terrible hanging there...Also, there is a funny "bump" on the sole of the sandal under the big toe which was never there before but now can be felt and no longer feels smooth as I walk. Im so disappointed ...its true to size in every other way. I bought two pairs and both are identically changed in design and no longer works for me.

I initially bought a size 9 (black). I normally wear 9, sometimes sizing down to 8.5 depending on the shoe/company. However, when the size 9 Olowahus arrived, I could hardly fit my foot in. I sized up to a 10 (!) and they are perfect. They were immediately comfortable; I didn't have to worry about a "break-in" period. I also love the style. Because the sandals are so strappy, you can dress them up to a certain extent the way you could not with a traditional flip flop. Very, very pleased. I'll be purchasing more in the future.

I totally wear out a pair every year. I wear them almost nonstop. So each year I buy a new pair for going out and use the one year pair for everything else like walking my dog and gardening. I keep the two year old pair in my car for those times you need to change shoes. After that, I toss them. These are my go to shoes. However, I have not bought any online in years. The last pair I bought online, my friend ordered us both a pair. Neither of us liked the fit. The straps were too tight. Since then, I go to a store that sales them so I can try them on prior to purchase. Sadly, I haven't been able to find the all black in about five years as they apparently sale out very quickly. Last year, I finally got a different color at Cabellas. I was afraid if I didn't buy ... MoreI totally wear out a pair every year. I wear them almost nonstop. I will continue to buy as long as they fit.

I purchase 2-3 pair of these sandals every summer. I am pretty hard on them and love that I can throw them in the washer and put them outside to dry. They have always been true to size and they are very comfortable. I've only had one pair with this last batch I ordered that didn't work. It looks like one of the straps wasn't pulled tight enough during the manufacturing process. Only one strap on one shoe is lose but it doesn't stay on my foot. I was hoping to shrink it by washing but that didn't work either. Hopefully it is a one-time defect.
I bought a few pairs of sandals last summer to figure out what I liked. I wasn't sure I would like these or not. Well I wore them in and they became super comfortable! I ended up having my dog step on my sandal while I was walking and it snapped the strap. So I went searching! I did not buy these sandals originally from REI. But they were the only store that had them! So I got excited. I almost bought two pair to have a backup!
Myself and four girlfriends swear by this sandal. It can be a dress or casual shoe. It is great for traveling. Every year we spend two weeks in Europe, walking at least 10 hrs a day. It is light, comfortable and I feel no fatigue. I also wear it on a daily basis at home.I'm its biggest fan and would have given it a score of 5, however it does not do well on wet surfaces. I have had more than several sliding incidents where I was just able to catch myself from falling. If I am unexpectedly caught in the rain or on wet pavement, I have to walk very slowing concentrating on each step.I certainly wish that you could make a sandal/ shoe with a non-skid sole. I also would like to see a solid white or beige sandal in this style.
I used to buy these every year when they were the “Mush.” I still have a couple pairs that are quite worn but still comfortable. Unfortunately, a few years ago the foam footbed and straps changed to a different material. The straps are too tight and the foam does not conform to your foot, remaining hard as a rock no matter how much you wear it. I will continue wearing my old ones until they give out; despite owning this newer pair I don’t wear them because they aren’t confortable.I gave 2 stars because they are better than plain plastic flip-flops, but not by much. The old version would have been 5 stars.
These sandals are now my favorite of all time, but when they arrived they were the most uncomfortable sandal I had ever attempted to wear. Despite being the correct size (sole was long and wide enough), all the straps were very tight and cut into my feet and toes. Especially the Y straps that meet at the toe post. That part literally sawed between my toes. The material was also very unforgiving being so stiff and rigid (think dog/cat collar material). BUT I loved the look of these sandals so much and I was determined to wear them, and figured out the there was a super easy fix (TEVA please consider this change!!!). BUT I loved the look of these sandals so much and I was determined to wear them, and figured out the there was a super easy fix (TEVA please consider this change!!!). I first wore thick socks and blow dried the shoes on my feet. Which helped the strap areas that touched the side of my feet. But the spot between the toes was still killing me. So I took a pair of small scissors and cut the thread that sewed together the two sides of the Y strap very slightly, not even halfway from where it was originally sown. Once I did this I realized the toe post was originally sewed SO HIGH that it was pulling the straps into the foot and leading the toe post in a not very natural position against the foot. Once I cut this, it created flexibility and room on both sides of the entire strap and didn't saw between my toes anymore! Now they are the most comfortable sandal I have. Strap material broke in quickly too. I know very drastic change in feelings. This may be more than what other wider feet people may want to deal with to wear a brand new sandal, but if you purchased these and are about ready to give up, please try what I did!
10 fits like an 8.5!I wear a 9.5 so I ordered the 10s because they didn't come in half sizes. These strangled my baby toes. I had two friends who wear 9s try them on (one has high arches). Didn't fit them either. I ended up giving these to my sister who wears a 8.5! My sister and one of my size 9 friends all know their Teva size, and these should have been too big. But no. They destroyed everyone's smallest toe! Booo! This was my first time ordering from Teva. I'll pass.
I've been buying these sandals to wear around the house (laminate floors) for over 10 yrs. and have them multiple colors. The original "Mush" soles were the best! With time they conformed to your feet making them more comfortable. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. There has been a change in the material that the soles are made of (for recyclable purposes) which changed the durability of the soles. With the originals, it took a long time for the soles to compress and lose sponginess. The current environmentally friendly soles don't last as long and compress much sooner. In fact, I still have two of my original pair and only use them sporadically to make them last longer. The new ones are still very comfortable and I love them, but alas I've been going through them ... MoreI've been buying these sandals to wear around the house (laminate floors) for over 10 yrs. and have them multiple colors. They are so comfortable, that I will still continue to but them.
