The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil 150ml. This is my first introduction to an oil cleanser and I’m now wondering how I ever did without it! I’ve been using the Good Molecules cleanser (which I adore) but this is more of a gel and not an oil. The texture of this Rice Water Cleansing Oil is kind of dry and and not wet, if that makes sense? Once the oil is warmed up from the heat of your fingers and your skin it melts into your skin which in turn broke down my makeup including my waterproof mascara! I use this as a second cleanse after a cleansing balm as I find this works best, for me. If I’ve only worn SPF moisturizer that day I usually only have to use this oil cleanser and I’m done! It doesn’t bother my usually sensitive skin so a definite plus for us sensitive types. I love that it has Jojoba oil as this assists with sebum production 🤍 My pores are not clogged and are not more pronounced so this oil is exactly as the description says, a ‘Light’ cleansing oil. Looks and feels like water, this oil cleanser penetrates deeply into pores. Effectively removes excess sebum, dirt and pollutants and leftover sunscreen without stripping my combination (normal/oily) skin. While it's able to take off light coverage makeup, it doesn't do much for medium to full coverage unless you use a large amount. One thing I dislike is the weird scent. Not unpleasant to the point where I stop using this but it strongly reminds me of cheap bar soap. I wouldn't say it brightens my face but haven't experienced dullness or flaky skin.

Honestly, I had next to no expectations for this. The face shop is an OG brand but not one that I use a ton of products from, so I wasn’t expecting much. The texture is so light that it’s almost like water. It does have a scent, kind of floral but it’s actually kind of pleasant. But it’s so easy to spread on your face but what blew me away is that I applied a generous amount to my eyes while I working it onto the rest of my face. When I went back to very lightly work it over my eye makeup, I could feel all of my waterproof mascara slipping off. Like in no time at all, boom! Every stitch of makeup gone. I think I found my holy grail at least for now. And I have tried sooooo many cleansing oils and balms and nothing gave me whip lash like this one did.

The cleansing oil has lot of ingredients that are to impart fragrances that may not be good for sensitive skin. I think that the cleansing oil caused acne on my skin (not sure).The oil takes out heavy makeup from your face. It easily breaks waterproof mascara, liquid lipstick and other stubborn makeup. I sometimes use it with a cotton pad to remove the stubborn eye makeup. You can even use it when you are not wearing any makeup just to clean all the dirt and impurities.I can not say much about brightening because your skin looks bright after you clean it.I use little extra quantity than required just to get all that makeup off my skin. The 10 ml sample lasted me for 15 days. So even though it’s expensive, the product you get is more than enough. (It’s cheaper than other oil cleansers).After I use the oil cleaner, I wash my face with water and then use a foaming cleanser. I am not so sure about washing my face just with water after oil cleansing.It leaves a thin oily layer on skin especially on eye lids; all things appear hazy after using this cleanser. Avoid using it on eye lids if you do not like the after effects.This oil cleanser is for oily to combination skin; there is variant available for dry skin.

I've been intrigued by the Korean double cleansing method for awhile and finally got this product and decided to give it a go. I guess I was worried it would exasperate my acne, but no no no! This is incredible! I think it actually helps with the acne. The difference in skin feel is unreal. It has THE greatest scent. I truly look forward to using this product and I think any skin type would benefit from it!
