The whole book in one copy for that price, is honestly a steal. I strongly recommend. Tolkien is the Homer of English.

The font is an excellent size and type and is printed on paper that feels luxurious under fingers. I highly recommend this edition with its appendices and pronunciation guide. Of course, not enough praise can be given the author for his delightfully inspirational epic.

This is the six books in one volume 1100 plus pages. I like it in one book like this! And the books not too big or too small. Page size is normal. And on top of that great literature! Everybody ought to read it once

Ordered as a gift and it arrived in perfect condition. Wish it was available in hardcover!
This is a beautiful compact edition for a cheap price. The pages are soft unlike a paperback. The spine is sturdy. Definitely one of my favorite editions
The story's are amazing and very descriptive. I loved how the story actually grew thought the trilogy. I will venting more of his books in the Future.
Its not just a reprinted edition but the best edition that corrected all typos and errors in previous prints, not to mention the beautiful cover design and high quality printing.
All 3 books in one with a quality paper back jacket that looks like it will last awhile. Great for school or home. I found this at Walmart Online after checking out other book stores and was happy to pay $8 less! Walmart books, who knew? Glad I found out.
Of course, you should buy this edition if you enjoyed previous printings, other editions, or the movie(s). Why??? Because you get the entire package in one tidy paperback, very handy to keep a bookmark in place as you read it (and re-read it). This was prepared as the 50th Anniversary release, it is well done. The text is exactly as re-released by Tolkien in the Houghton Mifflin editions corrected from the 1960's, so the older readers (who may have lost, misplaced or lent out their old paperbacks(and never got them back)), who remember the three separate volumes, will really enjoy having all of the material to hand in one book. The text is very similar to the Ballantine editons, with emendations. Have a nephew who got frustrated with a library book of the trilogy. My husband and I are huge Tolkein fans, so were pleased to find this single book edition. It is very nice for a paperback and the info in the front helpful. Print is also very crisp and clear, unlike our elderly volumes on browning paper.
