The Macallan distillery is located in the Scottish region of Speyside in Craigellachie, Moray. Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a local farmer who acquired the license to produce whiskey and decided to settle in Easter Elchies House, a building dating from 1700, made by stone for Captain John Grant, an outstanding example of classical stately mansion the Highlands. View In view it presented with an amber golden. Nose The nose is smooth, with hints of caramel, apple, candied orange, vanilla cream and hints of oak. Mouth The palate is light-bodied. Touches of oak and honey with spices and citrus notes.
