Carry your essentials in style with the Borealis Mini Backpack. The North Face took design nods from its bigger sibling, giving the 10-litre pack the same front bungee cord system. The zipped front pocket is ideal for stashing AirPods, while the main compartment includes a document sleeve. Sized to fit a water bottle, one of the side pockets also has quick-draw smartphone access. An urban favourite, day packs never looked so good.

I have been using this for university for three years now. It still looks as brand new as it did the first day I got it, and that's saying something coming from me, who pretty much always ends up breaking or staining everything I own. I'm honestly not very gentle with it, and it has faced many spills and torrential downpours, but genuinely still looks like new. The design is VERY cute and stylish, while still being simple enough so you don't get tired of it. There are plenty of pockets to aid in organization, which is really helpful! It is also very comfortable! My shoulders don't hurt even after long days of commuting and walking with this backpack. My only complaint is that it is not as roomy as one might think. I think I've seen much cheaper backpacks with much more roominess and space. When you look in this backpack, the space you see is pretty much the space you get. This backpack only really allows for vertical stacking of flat objects. For school, I can easily fit my laptop in its case, a laptop charger, a notebook or two, a novel, a planner, my phone, school supplies, and sometimes my lunchbox (but that needs to be *shoved* in lol). So, it definitely serves its purpose for school or work if you don't need to carry too much around beyond the basics. However, I've tried to use this backpack for camping trips and it really did not go well. It was a struggle shoving everything I needed into the backpack for even just a few days, and once it was packed, it was difficult to navigate through everything to find what I needed. So, overall, it is a very beautiful, durable, backpack that I really love and am so happy I bought. However, it is not super spacious and not ideal for traveling or anything beyond the basic daily necessities.

I've been using it for mountain bike rides - so I'll throw in my car keys, water bottles, phone, etc. Also, I can put a U-lock on the outer pocket pretty easily. The pockets are actually very thoughtful and useful in terms of compartments and I can also tie my helmet on the outer bungee. The straps are not restrictive in terms ofMobility and do not make me scrunch up my shoulderscant really use the water bottle pocket in my opinion. Great design poor durability
29 November 2022

I have bought my kids The North Face backpacks for school for years because they always had water bottles and seemed to collect tons of useless stuff. I was a big fan of the of the multiple pockets and storage spaces. Eventually, the bags all gave in at some point- the pocket for the water bottle or in this case, the strap. The first few bags took a couple years, so I can understand that. But this one is already coming apart. I know kids can be rough but the rest of the bag is pristine and with learning practically all on iPads, the weight he carries is insignificant. I think a bag that costs this much should last more than 3 months of school. I hate to switch brands but this is a waste of money. And to be completely fair, the structure of the water bottle holder is ... MoreI have bought my kids The North Face backpacks for school for years because they always had water bottles and seemed to collect tons of useless stuff. Great for air travel
29 July 2023

I bought this backpack for air travel and I love it. I really love the colour (Zinc Grey Dark Heather - Powder Blue) - neutral but pretty (and not generic). I appreciate all the pockets and how comfortable it is. The chest strap and flex vent suspension make a nice difference with weight distribution and back comfort when running to catch connecting flights. (What is the deal with the short layovers these days?) It carries all my essentials - snacks, books, headphones, neck pillow, with plenty of organization pockets for all the little things - without being bulky. Super extra great feature? The laptop pocket stops short of the bottom so your laptop doesn't get banged up when you put the backpack down. I do love this backpack :)

This product is a burgundy and brown color mixed together. The backpack has about 4 pocket holes, one for folders, one for your regular books, one for pencils and pens, and the last one is for small things like money or chapstick. The backpack also has two water bottle pockets, it has adjustable straps for both your chest and the strings on your shoulders. The backpack has a lot of space in it, especially the book pocket, you can fit a lot of books in there. This product has been the best for me. Usually, for school, I have to carry about two big books for two of my classes, and I also have to carry a really big computer case with the computer in my backpack, and somehow everything fits perfectly. I also travel a lot and take a lot of my personal belongings with me ... MoreThis product is a burgundy and brown color mixed together. I also travel a lot and take a lot of my personal belongings with me like makeup bags and purses, also my computers and all of my chargers, and when I travel during school I also have to take my books and computer with me.The reason why I purchased the product is because I saw how much space it was and how organized the front pockets were for small things. One of the best things that worked for me with this product is how it has a lot of space, and how organized is it it stretches a lot when putting things in it, I like how comfortable the shoulders straps have a lot of cotton in it, which makes it more comfortable to carry all the heavy things in the backpack. The backpack also has a clip that brings the shoulder straps together for a more comfortable and secure use. There are two things that I really didn't like about the product. One was the last pocket, the one by the shoulder straps. The only reason why I didn't like it's because the pocket is very tight. You're only able to put folders in there if you try to put something else in it, it's going to be too tight. The other thing that I really dislike about the product is that one of the water bottle holders has a whole on it, it's like an adjustable hole but things that are not a water bottle always slips out and sometimes even the water bottle slips out and I don't like it, it's not safe. This product was 100% worth all the money, it has very pretty colors available overall. I've had no problems with the product. I would recommend it if you're a college student or just a person that travels a lot and needs to put a lot in your bag if you buy this everything will fit perfectly and be organized. I want to buy the product again but in a different color. It's comfortable and adjustable and it's not that big and it has a lot of comfort on your back and shoulders. I would 100% recommend you buy it and you won't regret it.

Like it but where is the 2nd water bottle pocket?
12 March 2023

I am surprised that I love this bag since it is Sooooo small. If it was 12L instead of 10L & actually had 2 water bottle pockets I'd buy it in every colour. I use this for short hikes or day trips (zoo/anywhere I don't want to bring my purse). For reference the ONLY water bottle pocket fits a child size contigo water bottle (if you really fight with it) in the VERY TINY water bottle pocket. I can fit a 12oz swell type bottle but they are tall & it looks a bit funny. The inside & front pocket I can get a larger water bottle, set of extra kid clothes, a few snacks, wallet & keys. That's it. Nothing more. As much as I like this bag I am really irritated with the blatant lie that there are 2 water bottle pockets. That is such misleading advertising & doesn't make me trust the company in any way. The 2nd "water bottle" pocket fits a tube of chap stick, maybe a set of keys. I wouldn't put my keys in this pocket as it has a flap not a zipper. There is not place on this earth where this pocket could be considered a water bottle pocket & clearly this has annoyed me, but for me it isn't a deal breaker. The quality seems good, the end of the bungee cord on the front was out when I bought the bag but I just had to re-tie the end inside the front pocket I might double tie these now since I know they are not designed well with a hard knot as they should be. If you put anything in the bungee check to make sure the cord is tied tight inside the front pocket or your item will be long gone. Also check the size before you commit to this backpack since it is very very small. Please make it a bit bigger North Face!!

Too Small For any School level

My girls had a Borealis Backpack for school. The first one is still in great shape but it was white. It got too dirty to clean any more, therefore needed to replace with another one. Thought I bought the same one but this version is smaller. Get the Borealis version, its bigger, NOT the Women's Borealis if you need it for school. School Stuff barely fits in this backpack, can't add any additional things like sweatshirt or even bigger water bottle, or lunchbox. You can in the Borealis version. No space at all in the Women's version. Very disappointed that it wasn't more clear in the description. Not sure why NorthFace has two different backpack sizes with same name. That's a lot of money thrown out of the window when these are supposed to last through High School and College. The 2nd one we got a year later has torn shoulder straps after 3 years of usage. Looks like the newer versions quality keeps getting worst. :(

IOW the bottom of that pocket does NOT stop at the bottom of the bag. So as others have already mentioned it becomes very top heavy. Not only does that feel weird, but it looks crazy as well. I wish that they simply brought that pocket all the way to the bottom of the bag instead of making it end at the first bungee strap.- (Probably because that pocket is small) The organization in the first pocket is a little lacking IMO (comparing to their Jester backpack). So if you have bigger items and can fill the main pocket, then maybe this bag won't be as annoying. Thusly, this bag isn't bad, but isn't great either.

I would not recommend North Face backpacks. I loved mine at first because it was comfortable and spacious, but the strap ripped out after about eight months. I used it for school, so I mostly carried books and notebooks (nothing unusual or extremely heavy). I paid to have it shipped to the warranty facility, where they cover repairs on normal wear and tear. They would not repair the strap, even when I said I wanted to pay for the repair. They said they couldn't fix a strap that has torn out. I wasted money shipping it to them, and now my favorite backpack is unusable and I'm out $50 for the shipping. Don't buy this backpack because the strap will rip out after less than a year, and there's no way they can fix it. I loved mine at first because it was comfortable and spacious, but the strap ripped out after about eight months. Don't buy any North Face products; if they can't fix a torn out strap, they probably can't fix much. For the price, it should last forever.
