My immediate impression when trying this perfume is that it’s similar to both Alien by Mugler and L’Interdit by Givenchy. It has a grape-like scent initially (which was my impression from L’Interdit as well). Upon dry down, I get more of the citrus and woody notes. I honestly like the initial spray better than the dry down. It’s interesting how this perfume transforms from a very rich, sweet white floral into a more natural, slightly more unisex scent. This fragrance is a powerhouse in performance. It’s all I could smell after only one spray for awhile after. Careful not to overspray this one!

Turns out The Only One is much fruitier than I was expecting. I thought based on the color of the juice and the simplistic design of the bottle it would be a rich, sophisticated, elegant "dark" fragrance with more of a mature back bone. I wish I could perceive the fragrance as a whole - exactly how the voted dominant notes show here. But for me, it's as if the dominant pyramid has been flipped upside down!!! With rose, orange blossom, bergamot, and pear in that order, then the rest barely distinguishable. I was looking forward to the coffee, violet and vanilla but they're overshadowed by fruits and florals. Because of this it confuses me to wear. There's no darkness. Just happy, bright fruits and florals with freshness all throughout and a bit of sweetness. This ... MoreTurns out The Only One is much fruitier than I was expecting. I like the scent bubble it gives and has good staying power, but I would have loved something more mysterious and unusual in this. The fruitiness never subsides on me and I can't help but be reminded of the mainstream designer fruity florals of the last decade, with an ever so slight trace of gourmand-ness that is so popular today. It is very easy and pretty, a bit too easy for me at this stage in the game. It is SO wearable, but also so undiscernable and unclear as to what it is trying to be. I like it, just think my expectation was way off.

It was winter in 2018, I was looking for a fragrance for that season and I found this new launch. I was the new variation of " The One", which was launched many years ago. The Only One's top notes are Violet, Orange and Bergamot (yes, again Orange and Citrus notes included in fragrances that catch my attention when I try them at stores). Its middle notes are Coffee, Pear, Iris, Orange Blossom and Rose; and as base notes are Caramel, Vanilla and Patchouli. It's sensual and feminine buy not too sweet, with an interesting trail of Coffee and Orange Blossom in the middle of the day. For some people it reminds them to the Black Opium by YSL, but I don't find the similarities, the YSL one is overwhelming and too sweet for me (the Vanilla and Warm Spicy notes are ... MoreIt was winter in 2018, I was looking for a fragrance for that season and I found this new launch. This fragrance is not really special to blow your mind (as its name indicates) but is comfortable. It's a sensual perfume perfect for everyday in Fall and Winter. This one is 100 ml #dolceandgabbana

The comparison to Black Opium Nuit Blanche is spot on in my opinion, only that I find this is a lot creamier sweeter, maybe from the massive dose of caramel. The caramel, Iris, coffee and patchouli really come through on my skin, with the patchouli being sharp yet being smoothed out by the caramel note. The Iris gives a powdery hint in the dry-down, but this remains in the background allowing the caramel latte to shine. I also think it would be redundant to own this and any of the Black Opiums at once as they are very similar fragrances. Performance is great, about 7 hours of wear before it fades into a skin scent. I’d say that if one has sensitivities to patchouli or gourmand notes then maybe this is not the right fragrance as the patchouli is very dominant IMO. I’d say that if one has sensitivities to patchouli or gourmand notes then maybe this is not the right fragrance as the patchouli is very dominant IMO. To my nose the patchouli smells like slightly damp clothes or soil, it’s quite dirty but also sharp. However, this fragrance is perfect for date-night, and fun nights out at the bar. I’ve also worn it to sleep, church, work and it worked amazingly well at these occasions too, I’d say if you like Pure XS, Armani Sì, Intense Cafe etc then there’s a good chance you’ll love this too. My final verdict is that if you enjoy caramel/coffee as notes, or if you like Black Opium, then maybe check out The Only One. It’d be an easy like
Orange blossom, caramel, and vanilla forward. There seems no letting down of those notes through the duration of wear. Coffee is more subtle than I'd hoped but the coffee I do get combined with the sweet notes and fruits of citrus and pear, and a subdued patchouli there is a suggestion of chocolate. As the dry down progresses, powdery dry iris comes into the mix, very comforting, and the violet becomes more present, an edible candied violet. The rose, though not extremely prominent, contributes an elegance. Sweet, warm, and entirely scrumptious. The very 1st time I tested a spritz I thought it to be a close skin sent, but now with season change and sprayed on all of my points - and then some - it's proved a life of 10+ hours , I'm very aware of it's presence, and ... MoreOrange blossom, caramel, and vanilla forward. I had tried the only one non-intense version before and it was nice, sweet, but not anything particularly unique or special or overly sexy and did not last very long. so I did a blind buy and took a risk on this one. I am so thrilled that immediately upon opening the box, I was blown away. It’s one of those scents that stays with you like the original Chanel or Trésor by Lancôme, or so many of the unique original sense that still are around from the 90s and early 2000s, Chanel Chance, Dior, etc. I wouldn’t say it beats them out in any way, but upon first scent and after it settled on my skin it still had that sense of populace and richness of a great perfume. On top of that it does actually stay and I will say almost nothing stays on my skin for long so the fact that this stayed overnight into the morning on the wrist was fantastic. I am thrilled with the scent, the intensity and the strength. It is definitely sweet but it’s a more deeper or more romantic sweet version or just a slightly more mature versions of the only one. Although everyone’s tastes are very different, from my experience I highly recommend giving this a try for evenings or those events calling for a little romance.
Reading the description, comments & identifying with the notes that work for me, I took a chance & ordered this online. I was amazed! It was love at first smell! Warm & intriguing, a touch of sweet but sophisticated, you feel unique walking into a room, it's intoxicating, like you are the Only One! Friends & family complimented saying "you smell amazing!" & "omg what are you wearing?"!!! The Only One is now my only one & this is a huge deal (for me) because my blood runs Lauder blue ... to be fair I didn't stray, they simply discontinued two of my favorites and so far haven't created anything that remotely compares. It would've been helpful if ULTA gave true samples, not paper mailers or at least an option but luck was in my favor!!!!
I read reviews saying this perfume was sexy, sensual, and very much like Black Opium. I love Black Opium so I blind bought this. It's very strong and lasts a long time but I didn't think it smells anything like Black Opium. This smells like an old womens perfume (at least to my nose). When someone says granny perfume this is what I imagine. Apparently, I'm not a fan of strong Iris or Violet notes or the combo of the two. That's the only notes I could think of that would make this so unappealing to me. I like Sexy Amber which is a powdery Amber perfume (so I like some powdery perfumes) but I just couldn't like this. I couldn't feel sexy thinking I smelled like a grandmother. If you like violets and irises then I'd give this a try if not don't buy this. On me It works amazing with my body chemistry. I was first introduced to this in the winter and right after putting it on as I walked home at least 4 men complimented me. It's dark and sexy, smells sweet but in a dark chocolate kind of way, not in a artificial way. Great silage and longevity on me. And this was my first time buying from this site and was skeptical bc of the great price for a product usually worth a bit more. But to my surprise it's real and the price is just a benefit ! It's an amber scent with white florals and has vanilla but it's not powdery or smells like a pastry idk it's darker than that and has this maneater vibe. I hope this review isn't too convincing cuz I'd hate to be the reason it's not kept secret anymore.
If D&G ever discontinue this fragrance I will cry then I will riot. It's so good!! I hate floral perfumes but this amazing mixture of floral with sweet and spicy is just blended so well and wears beautifully on my skin. I've gone through 2 bottles (just bought my 3rd) and I never finish perfumes lol. I'm always switching it up but I reach for this one more often than anything else now. It lasts on my skin for about 3 hours. not the longest time but I don't mind reapplying since I also have the travel size. on my clothes I can smell it until I wash them. For reference my other top perfumes are love don't be shy, good girl Supreme, kilian princess, black opium, and Burberry Her. I definitely prefer more sweeter perfumes so if you do too you may like this one.
