The Ordinary Balancing and Clarifying Serum is perfect for blemish prone skin. I am already a fan of this brand, and I use a lot of their products, but this was my first time using the serum. I like that this brand is very affordable and I always see good results. This serum not only hydrated my skin, but also gave it such a pretty glow. I received this free from Influenster and The Ordinary in return for my honest review. Ok, so from the packaging, I didn't have to high of hopes as I have never heard of this brand, and it's pretty straightforward of a name and the design of the bottle. But let me tell you this, the formula that is used is something out of the future in skin care. It goes on like water with a slight feel of formula that feels gel like when smoothed over your face. There is no scent which I like. But then within a minute or 2, you see plumping, righting in areas where you used to have those stubborn pores, their getting smaller. Over time, I saw my fine lines get so light or softened and can only see them close up. I have not broken out while routinely using this product. I have seen ... I really enjoy La Mer La Prarie for my skincare but a few years ago when I saw these products appear in Sephora I had to try them. This Balancing Clarifying Serum is also a win. Recently I was at an outdoor event where the UV index ended up being substantially higher than predicted resulting in a pink hit forehead, I used this and in conjunction with snail mucin the next day my forehead was hydrated and looked nearly as if I didn’t experience the strong sun UV rays. Is this a winner? Absolutely! Would I buy it again? Absolutely! Would I recommend this to friends family? Absolutely! ... This thin serum comes in a small brown glass bottle, and you dispense with a dropper. Bottle does not have the plastic circle inside the neck to scrape excess product from dropper. Product needs to be shaken before use, which will turn it mildly frothy, probably from the fermented ingredients. It is a transparent cream color and thin for a serum. Feels mildly sticky going on and dries still sticky, but less so. My face really does feel more plump and soft. The stickiness feels like it dried into a film on my face but it does take away any shine. I do not find that my skin feels moist. For my skin, I need some moisture on top of this to get rid of the tight film feeling. But for someone with oily skin, this is a great last step before sunblock.

I was happy to receive this free bottle of The Ordinary’s clarifying and balancing serum from Influenster for my review. I was extremely curious to see how this serum would work since it is packed with very interesting ingredients such as multiple amino acids and natural derivatives. I like the stopper on the bottle and the glass was shatter proof. I know this since I dropped it on my tile floor and it did not break. Upon applying, the serum absorbed quickly. It also seem to absorb any oil on my face instantly. It almost seemed as if it acted like a toner. However, I had two issues regarding this product. MoreI was happy to receive this free bottle of The Ordinary’s clarifying and balancing serum from Influenster for my review. I was extremely curious to see how this serum would work since it is packed with very interesting ingredients such as multiple amino acids and natural derivatives. I like the stopper on the bottle and the glass was shatter proof. I know this since I dropped it on my tile floor and it did not break. Upon applying, the serum absorbed quickly. It also seem to absorb any oil on my face instantly. It almost seemed as if it acted like a toner. However, I had two issues regarding this product. First of all, there technically is no added fragrance to this but there is a very strong unpleasant odor when applied to the face. The best word I can use to describe it is the smell of “decay” and I found it very off putting. After reading the ingredients in order to try and figure out what was smelling funky, I assumed it is from the fermentation of bacteria that they are using. I had to put on a strongly fragrance moisturizer to try and cover it up. Secondly, I noticed throughout the day that I had a small red patch on my cheek. I usually do not have issues from serums. For these two reasons I would not purchase this product.
