So I’m not exactly sure what happened but my skin got irritated as I was doing my skincare. The lower part of my face by my chin got red and welted. It actually feels numb! I put the peptides on at the very end of my routine as I was about to seal it with spf and that’s when it happened. The Buffet is the only new thing I’ve added into my skincare routine. I’m not going to use it anymore. That was scary. It was the third time I used it and I’m not sensitive I followed the protocol waiting 15-20 mins after antioxidants before layering it on.I’m acclimated to use l-ascorbic acid and tretinoin, both in their purest and highest form with little to no irritation. If I ever shed/peel from my vit-a, I like it because it reassures me it’s working. Less is more or simple is best lol good luck everyone out there experimenting with skincare!!I heard so many good things about peptides and had previously used growth factor serums which are a $$$ so I wanted to replace them with something more sustainable for my budget and save the stem cell gf serums for post in clinic treatments. I feel like I graduated vit c & a that I’m ready to add more but these serums are too finicky. This buffet and the one with copper peptides. I really don’t want to skip days using vit c & a for these peptide serums that aren’t absolutely proven to work!I’ll be using these on my hands.

After years of struggling with acne as a 30 something, having basically perfect skin my whole life up until now for some reason, I finally found a routine that seems to work. I've taken my routine to the most basic level because my skin is incredibly sensitive and doing too much only seemed to make it worse. I only use the garnier rose micellar water for cleansing, the occasional use of an AHA around my time of the month when I break out the worst, and the dramatically different gel moisturizer from Clinique. The only thing I was missing was some kind of anti-aging product to help fill out these small lines developing on my forehead, around my eyes and smile lines. This seems to have done the trick. I've had no reaction so far, my skin is smooth and best of all ... MoreAfter years of struggling with acne as a 30 something, having basically perfect skin my whole life up until now for some reason, I finally found a routine that seems to work. I don't find it sticky, especially applying moisturizer after, and it doesn't have a smell. Now to find a good oil free sunscreen that won't break me out and I'll be set!

I've just tried my first TO products for about a month, and I'm loving them. I did the Build a Regimen and it started me on 1) Squalane cleanser 2) Ascorbyl Tetra 20% in Vit F 3) MultiPeptide +HA and 4) Moisturizing Factors +HA. I introduced them one at a time, no problems with any of them. I am really excited about this one. The Multi-Peptide + HA serum was showing visible results in as little as a week. My skin is much smoother, and the lines are starting to smooth out a bit. Most noticeably on the lines between my brows and my laugh lines. I even tried a drop on the back of my hands and it made a huge difference- less crepey, and brighter looking. I'm 60, and I think this was a good group of products to try out first. Started out using the old Buffet last June and now I'm on this latest peptide formula. I noticed my skin tightening up around my mouth and bit under my eyes. Two months ago I used the AHA/BHA peeling formula for 3 weekly treatments (the results after the first treatment were very obvious). Then I started the The Caffeine Solution under my eyes a month ago. Is it working? Well, I have a younger colleague I see about every two or 3 months when I travel and we met up yesteryday. He looked astonished when he saw me and said "Everytime I see you, you look younger". That tells me what I needed to know!I recommend these products though these price increase will mean other products could come into use, whereas the Ordinary once held sway as the best value for excellent, ... MoreStarted out using the old Buffet last June and now I'm on this latest peptide formula. The lack of availability of many products is disheartening as well. It's hard to continue in a skincare routine if you can't get the products for it.
Love it. My favourite serum, goes everywhere from eye area to lips and neck. It cannot (nothing really can) eradicate existing wrinkles and lines, but I started using buffet + retinoid emulsion from the Ordinary about 4 years ago (buffet in the mornings, retinoid in the evenings, plus I take buffet with me when I travel), and during that time my skin has aged noticeable better/less when compared to my friends. I can honestly say I have developed 0 new wrinkles in the last few years, and since I've completely stopped using anything that contains silicone, I've also now reached a point where my skin is so much better I do not even own a single foundation product. Very happy with the results.I am 44, do not smoke and use zero to minimal alcohol - but have serious health issues and poor eating habits (which result in fluctuating weight). Sensitive oily/combination skin with very large pores (now very much improved). Used to use Dior capture totale and Estee Lauder before, neither of which I have repurchased in the last 3 years. I also use the Ordinary's moisturizing factors cream to outer eye area, cheeks, neck and lips as needed.Only wish the Ordinary made a retinoid-based eye cream so I could give up the Omorovicza golden eye, too (the only "other" product I am still hooked on).
I've been using "Buffet" for years. After a while I couldn't really see the difference anymore, probably because I got used to the great results that I got when I first started using it, but... when done with my face, I usually wipe any residue onto the backs of my hands. I saw a difference in the appearance of my hands within days of starting to do this. I thought to myself that if it helped my hands look younger, why not try it on my arms, which I've been hiding with long sleeves for a couple of years now. With age, the back of my arms got a bit wrinkled and I could see how gravity was making the skin near the elbows ripple. Well, this serum did wonders for my arms. The skin near the elbows is no longer rippled, and the overall look is of smoother and firmer skin! ... MoreI've been using "Buffet" for years. Overall: The Buffet is very much a buffet experience. The quality isn’t amazing, but you also didn’t spend much. It’s still pretty good for the price, but you’re left wondering if you’d have been happier had you spent just a little more.I purchased this serum after Southwest damaged multiple items in my luggage, including shattering a bottle of Shiseido’s Ultimmune. Their solution was to give me a not even half the value of what they damaged gift card (so I could get my stuff damaged again later I guess), so I decided to try a less expensive serum I’ve heard lots of good things about. My skin texture is very dry. I need products that provide moisture and help lock in that moisture. I need products that provide moisture and help lock in that moisture. I felt the serum let me down here, as I was applying a LOT just to get that result. One thing about applying a lot of this serum is you get a sort of sticky texture going on. If you give it a minute, it dries down to be less sticky but still not sticky-free.I’m unfortunately not seeing the results I was promised by multiple other reviews/hype TikToks after about a week. A little disappointing as I love so many other products from The Ordinary (side note: the caffeine drops are AMAZING). That’s not to say this is a bad serum, though. The price is incredibly reasonable for a serum, but it simply isn’t strong enough for dry skin. I think you’d be happy if your skin is normal or oily if the stickiness doesn’t bother you. If you have dry skin, you’ll find yourself needing to use a lot of serum to get decent results and probably should consider another product.
While wearing a mask, I experienced the strangest skin in my life around my chin and mouth area. It was like crusty (ew) and I tried Cerave face lotion, Aveeno nonscented body lotion (cringe), and even Vaseline with nothing helping. With years of acne problems that made me take accutane, minocycline, and a slew of topical products, my clear face is something I take pride in. When I was having problems with those *crusty* spots, it was making me so sad. I had these for about a month or possible even longer. Then I tried the buffet and BOOM it cleared up and I haven’t had that problem since. If I could give this a higher rating I would. I’m a college student and this does wonders for my skin. It leaves it glowing. I got so many compliments when I was using it. If ... MoreWhile wearing a mask, I experienced the strangest skin in my life around my chin and mouth area. I had been using the original Buffet serum for over 2 years and it was working great with my skin. I was confused when I went to order again a couple of months ago, but found that the name had changed and didn't think much of it. As soon as it arrived I used it as I had previously, once a day, and within a week I had the worst breakout/skin irritation I've ever experienced. It took me a whole month to figure out that the formula of this product had changed and the time I started using it lined up with exactly when my my skin started to experience extreme redness and irritation. As soon as I stopped using the product, my skin started to clear and heal from what felt almost like a chemical burn in places, and after three days without use is finally on the mend. After reading some of the reviews I had such high hopes for this product. Shipping took forever so I was really excited to try it out when it finally got here. First thing I noticed was the strong, kind of vinegar-ish smell. It didn't bother me so I used it as directed but work up the next morning with tiny, pus filled pimples all over my chin and mouth area. I did the patch test so I know it wasn't an allergic reaction. I figured it might be the dreaded "purging" some skincare products do and continued to use it but it just kept getting worse. I've never had problems with acne in my entire life but this product made me break out all over my face and didn't do much in reducing fine lines. Actually nothing at all.
