After reading reviews about how brilliant this product is for acne, I originally tried the 5% (used this daily for around 3 weeks) and then introduced the 10% (which I'll use every 2/3 days in the PM) my skin has been drastically better, with almost instant results. I was having hormonal acne, which has reduced by around 75% - I feel so much more confident! After applying this, I wait for it to dry and use Azeliac Acid in my t zone and chin, followed by a moisturiser. GAME. CHANGER! - skin care has been trial and error for me, and its taken 6 months to work this routine out.

While I wouldn’t recommend using this product every day, I really like it as a way to give my skin a boost without having to worry about irritation. I’m keeping this one on-hand to use whenever I notice my skin getting a little dull, as well as to boost my other discoloration-reducing products. It softened the wrinkles so that they aren't that much visible now. It leaves my skin very soft and doesn't cause any irritation whatsoever, and I have sensitive skin. I’ve used this for a few months not knowing it was a peeling formula. The directions are not clear whatsoever, I’m assuming it’s a leave-on product but it says limit duration and frequency of use but also says use once per day… confusing. Since it’s meant to be an exfoliator, it has no way to explain how to remove dead skin cells (I’ve been using it as a normal serum and my skin rubs off when I apply other serums). For future will be applying, waiting a few minutes and rubbing skin off, then rinsing before applying other serums. And won’t be doing it daily… recommendations are appreciated.
I bought this about a month ago and hoped it would work…. It has! It’s surpassed all of my expectations! Background: I have KP (keratosis pilaris) and I have tried everything on the market to get rid of a few problem areas on my arms and around my knees. None of the expensive creams, soaps, exfoliators, or scrubs have worked. I’ve even tried home remedies! I applied a dropper full to each area that was bumpy & rough after each shower for 3 weeks and the bumps are gone!!!! I’m going to keep this on hand forever! Thank you The Ordinary! I received this item last week after thinking that my always dry skin needed some help with exfoliation. I have been using tretinoin products for the last 5 or so years but always had some additional flaking around my mouth and chin area. I have used this 10% lactic acid wice this week instead of the tretinoin and my skin has already exfoliated to the point where I cannot see the skin flaking. I am ecstatic! I am going to use the 10% lactic acid one night, then the tretinoin the night after, and keep on with this until I can use the lactic acid daily. When that happens, I will buy the next exfoliating serum up and go from there. You would think that thetretinoin would have taken care of my skin and had done the exfoliating. Gamechanger with adding AHA's forsure!
So this is a super great acid! I know my body likes lactic acid as I suffer from eczema and it helps keen the skin fresh and new and therefore soft. I decided to try this acid instead of my usual glycolic acid by a brand that was much more expensive and I am thoroughly impressed. For me, it seems to do a similar thing… softens, brightens and improves the texture and tone of my skin. I always notice the difference. I use daily but my skin is used to acids, they also make a less strong version which might be a good entry product. I will definitely purchase again!

Used this only a few times and have already seen a difference -- used in the shower before a gentle cleanser, figured I'd rinse off until my skin builds tolerance as went straight for the 10% serum. My face has been purging slightly but so far with no irritation which is good, just tiny tiny whiteheads. After a 10hr waitressing shift in a heatwave I really needed an exfoliation, this has worked perfectly! My face feels so smooth and decongested, I have noticed my pores also look way smaller and general texture has improved as well (even for acne scarring). I worked up to using this almost every night when I'm not using acne treatments. A little goes a long way, it's a watery consistency so it spreads well. I wait about 15 minutes before applying the Amino Acid+B5 and Hyaluronic Acid+B5 serums (mixed), then a thicker moisturizer last. If there's any item I highly recommend, it would definitely be the Lactic Acid.
