[Rewarded Review] Comfortable and improved sleep!

I have yet to find a Therabody product I do not enjoy and this SleepMask with vibration is definitely no different. I thought there was going to be some time to get used to using a face mask for sleep since I have never used one, and definitely not one that vibrates. However I was relieved when I had zero issues getting used to the face mask, and I attribute it to the super soft foam the face mask is made out of. The foam is unlike any other foam I have felt before, it is very supple and takes zero effort if you squeeze it, so putting it on the delicate skin around your eyes is honestly so comfortable. The strap is way more comfortable than I was expecting as well, and very easy to adjust even with long hair. The one thing I noticed about the facemask foam though, is the areas below the eye are a lot thicker than the foam that is above the eyes, maybe it was on purpose but it really feels like the mask is leaking strangely on my face. And feels like there should be less foam below my eyes to feel more balanced. It is definitely not a deal breaker though, as I still easily fall asleep with the facemask. The vibration settings are just okay, they are relaxing modes, however I think the intensity of them is a bit much as I can often feel the vibration motors rattling right next to my face. I get used to it as I get closer and closer to sleep, but when first put on it is definitely a little intense and jarring. The Therabody app is an excellent app but many of the Therabody products, but definitely not necessary for this SleepMask. It does not seem to sync to the mask so the only thing you can really do is listen to different relaxing songs, which you can do on other apps such as Spotify, so no major benefit there. But the app is great if you have other Therabody products. I have been looking closer at my sleep on my Whoop app and it seems like I have been hitting more REM sleep than I usually do, and looking at the graphs, it seems like I have been getting to my REM and deep sleep cycles faster when using the mask. Therabody definitely has a great product here and I recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their sleep, or currently dealing with some sleep struggles and looking for a natural solution.

The cushioning is in the right place so it doesn't bother you if you are a side sleeper. If you tend to sleep on your stomach, I don't think it would be a good fit for you since there is a hard plastic piece on the mask (charging port and electronic controls) that may be uncomfortable. You don't get any light coming in through the sides even when moving around.Unfortunately, those are the only things I liked about this mask. The massage function is relatively noisy and isn't that noticeable. My wife could barely feel the vibrations and the noise from the unit kept her awake. I didn't have a problem with the noise, but I didn't see much value in the massage feature which is supposed to be one of it's selling points. There are six different vibration modes to choose from by clicking the single power and selection button on the top of the unit. The second feature that I was looking forward to trying was the sleep sounds. When I received the Sleep mask, I thought it had a built in speaker that would play the music. Unfortunately, all you get is an app that plays music from your phone. You could do that for free by searching online for sleep music. The app includes about 50 different recordings you can pick from for soothing sounds, but only two of them are over 20 minutes long.Overall, I would not recommend the SleepMask considering the price of the product and the value it provides.

This aspect of the mask works perfectly as advertised, helping create an ideal sleep environment by entirely blocking out external light.Massage FunctionThe built-in massage feature feels nice but I had to get mask positioned correctly or the vibration sometimes caused an itch in my nose, likely due to the stimulation of nose hairs. This might not affect everyone, but it was a slight annoyance. I was able to adjust a little and then it wasn't bothersome.Side-SleepingAs a side sleeper, I was relieved that the mask didn’t press uncomfortably into my face when I turned on my side. While not entirely unobtrusive, it’s light enough to not disrupt my usual sleeping position, making it versatile compared to other bulky sleep aids.Effectiveness for HeadachesUnfortunately, when I tried it to alleviate a headache, the results were underwhelming. It didn’t provide any noticeable relief, which makes me think it might not work for all types of headaches. It could be more suited for certain types of headaches rather than others.Noise LevelThe mask is pretty quiet overall, but if you plan on using it with earbuds, it's going to be annoying. The vibrations will cause an echoing sound to any music played through the earbuds. And if you just want to plug your ears for both light and sound deprivation, you can as long as you don't use the massage feature since sounds of the vibration will be amplified in your head.Final ThoughtsWhile the mask generally performs well in terms of comfort, blocking light, and providing a relaxing pre-sleep experience, I can't say I've necessarily slept better. However I'm am more towards the extreme side of not being able to fall asleep or stay asleep. So if you just have trouble falling asleep occasionally or staying asleep, you may benefit from this.Or, if you are someone who values relaxation rituals before bed and often experiences facial tension, it could be worth the investment. However, for all-night wear or headache relief, the results might not meet everyone's expectations. Given the price, it may not be the best value for those seeking a simple sleep mask.

I usually wear just a light sleep mask and have a white noise fan blowing but there are those nights that nothing really works. Hense trying this Therabody Sleep mask with Vibration Therapy - maybe this is what would be my solution...After unboxing and washing the mask piece and storage bag, I made sure I had a full charge on the base unit. Night 1, got comfy, fan going and went through the variation of massaging vibrations. It has a fabulous blackout feature coupled with great softness and comfort. I settled on the lightest vibration setting I could find because the others were way too much for my comfort. The light pulse was gentle enough to relax me and some nights helped me relax enough to fall right to sleep on my back. I did however not find it not as comfortable on my side, especially if I had the vibration going as the noise was very loud while on my side - so back to being on my back it was. I tried this routine for the full week hoping it would get better - just didn't work as I had hoped. After a few nights of wearing the mask, I did find it helped relax me somewhat but some nights it kind of was a bother because I am more comfortable on my side and that noise just didn't work for me - I am a very light sleeper... It did help keep all the light out, but my lightweight sleep mask does the exact same thing, and it is so light that I don't even know it is on. The SleepMask slipped off in the middle of the night so some nights it landed on the floor as I just didn't feel like readjusting it back on.I do believe that this would be a great mask for taking naps during the day, but I do not have that opportunity. Also, I think it would be great for plane rides to block out the light and further relax you during a flight with some of the variations of massaging vibration. I will definitely give it a try on my next flight, but probably won't rely on it at bedtime.

Also included is a really nice travel pouch, a USB-C charging cable and an insert telling you to wash the mask before your first use.I was surprised to see that the mask was washable, since it's electronic, but it’s not the full mask that gets washed, it's the detachable eye liner, which actually touches your face, along with the travel pouch. The other part of the mask, that houses the electronics, can only be gently wiped down with a cloth if it gets dirty. The instructions recommend washing it weekly, or as often as you wash your bed sheets. So, I peeled the eye liner away from the sleep mask and put it in the wash along with the travel pouch.Using this mask didn’t last long for me. I tried it multiple nights, but I just can’t get used to it. I thought the vibration was going to be a really great feature, but after trying all the settings, I’ve found that I can barely feel it on my face. Maybe it’s designed that way on purpose, but for me, I wanted more vibration, something I could actually feel. Beyond that, I was also disappointed by the sound the vibration makes. I found it to be annoying and something that I became focused on, which wasn’t good at all. With that being said, their app provides some really good, soothing, and comforting sounds that kind of help to mask the sound of vibration, but not much. They aren’t very loud, even with the volume all the way up, and if you, like me, sleep with a fan going, you won’t be able to hear the app very well. Another issue I had with this mask is that my face gets too warm while I’m wearing it for more than half an hour or so. I have another, low-cost sleep mask that is black silk, and that one doesn’t get warm at all, compared to the Thearbody Sleep Mask. One other issue I had is that my head is pretty big and I had to fully extend the strap to fit me, which is okay, but I still feel like it’s just a little tight. I like to wear my other sleep mask loosely so that I can barely feel it’s there. And finally, the slider on the strap is hard, rigid plastic. I feel bad for anyone with a smaller head who has to feel that thing on the back of their skull while trying to sleep on their back. Theramind should have made the adjustable slider out of a soft silicon material, not a hard plastic.I will say that the mask liner itself is very soft, and comfortable, it just misses the mark for me. And at this price, I should be able to adjust the intensity of vibration, so that I can actually feel it, which you cannot do. But even if that were an available feature, the sound of the vibration would still bother me. This mask will probably be great to use when traveling, because the noise of the plane will drown out the vibration noise and the warmth of the fabric would be okay since the plane get’s cold, but for sleeping at home, it’s not something I’ll be using unfortunately.

I tried, I really tried to like this. I liked the idea behind the Therabody Sleep Mask but found that it lacked in execution for me. It does offer a unique approach to relaxation, using vibration to promote restfulness (well, new to me anyway…was this a thing before?) After using it for over a week, I have to confess that I’m disappointed. I wanted to like it and I wanted it to help because I have insomnia and really do struggle with sleeping well. The two biggest frustrations for me were the fit and noise from vibration.First, the fit is just awkward. Although adjustable, the mask feels a bit bulky, especially around the edges. For those who prefer a snug or contoured fit, this may not meet expectations. It can shift during sleep, which might interrupt your rest ... MoreI tried, I really tried to like this. The two biggest frustrations for me were the fit and noise from vibration.First, the fit is just awkward. Although adjustable, the mask feels a bit bulky, especially around the edges. For those who prefer a snug or contoured fit, this may not meet expectations. It can shift during sleep, which might interrupt your rest if you’re sensitive to pressure or movement around your eyes. The bulkiness also makes it less comfortable for side sleepers, as the mask presses against the face. A couple of times, the mask slipped back over my ears and I woke up with my ears actually hurting from the pressure. The vibration function is another mixed experience, and that’s obviously a problem since it’s one of the main features. While the vibrations might work for some people, I found them to be shockingly loud. To clarify, It’s a low but noticeable. I’m super sensitive to noise when I’m trying to sleep and this was like a constant hum in my ear and made sleeping harder, not easier. For people who are sensitive to background noise, this might defeat the purpose of using the mask to relax or unwind.

While this mask does provide 100% blackout capabilities, is lightweight, has a removable and washable inner layer; just about everything else about the mask needs improvement. Both my wife and I tested this mask and it was not comfortable on either of our faces. The nose area likely needs less material on it, as when the vibration feature is active, I can only feel the vibrations running down my nose. For my wife, the vibrations also run down her nose but she feels it in her teeth as well. Neither of us seem to feel the vibrations anywhere by our eyes or forehead. We did reach out to Therabody support, and they promptly sent us some suggestions to try (loosen the mask, place the mask higher on your face/forehead so the band is well above the ears) but none of ... MoreWhile this mask does provide 100% blackout capabilities, is lightweight, has a removable and washable inner layer; just about everything else about the mask needs improvement. It seems to only stay in position if you lay on your back. When I did reach out to Therabody support, I did ask if they can consider adding a heat feature to this mask (and having less material around the nose) and they did say that they would consider both of those items moving forward. We own a $20 sleep mask that has both vibration and heat and overall seems to work better than this $100 mask. Also, there is the Therabody app that can be downloaded and will eventually have a feature released to play calming music with this mask, but that feature will not be released until the end of October, so I have not been able to try or connect to the app with this mask. For now if you are looking for a mask that does more than just vibration, you might need to look at their Smart Goggles, visually the googles have less material in the nose area and is likely more comfortable; or wait to see if more of these usable features come out in future releases? If I spent money on this mask, I would have definitely taken it back for a refund. Swing and a miss for both me and my wife.

[Rewarded Review] Relaxing Mask > Yes; Sleeping Mask > Not so much

I mostly sleep on my back (rarely on either side) and have always had trouble falling asleep (mainly due to tinnitus and lots of thoughts from the day running through my head) and sometimes staying asleep. Hence, my curiosity about a "sleep helper", such as the "Therabody - SleepMask with Vibration Therapy". I wanted to explore if such a mask could make a difference for people like me. It helped me greatly to relax, especially after a long day of work with my eyes strained due to computer work with multiple monitors, but it didn't do anything to make me fall asleep faster. This is not to say that it might help other people, though. The Sleep Mask works entirely without the app, but you would miss out on all the relaxing and peaceful music and white and pink noises of various lengths between 7 - 21 minutes which you can get through other apps, too, but they all charge for it. You get to use this app with the sleep mask. The music/sound/noise sound therapies are: (1) Peaceful Soundscapes; (2) Restful Sleep; (3) Soft Background Noise; (4) Relaxation and Stress Reduction; (5) Travel and Decompression; and (6) Guided Meditation. The app also includes a 3-part video tutorial of about 1 minute each, which complements the provided user manual. The Sleep Mask's magic revolves around relaxing vibrations that massage the eyes area to help clear your mind. You can choose from "Gentle Pulse Low/High", "Slow Rise and Fall Wave Low/High", and "Constant/Steady Rhythm Low/High". The settings are only controlled through the mask's single button, and not through the app, and as such, it takes some getting used to remembering how many times to push the button to set one or the other vibration mode.I personally found the mask super-comfortable and soft, and it does provide total blackout, which comes in very handy for lighted settings (e.g. street lights you can't block out) and travel. There is also still room enough to open/blink with your eyes so you won't feel claustrophobic or anything. I experienced no "light leakage" when wearing the mask. Though I enjoyed the relaxing and peaceful music, it would be better if it came through the mask and not a smartphone close by, which can be irritating. The vibration is audible, and as such might disturb your partner lying next to you.In conclusion, I am giving this mask 4 points as it really gets the job done relaxing me and relaxing my eyes. I sometimes use it between meeting breaks, just for 15 minutes, and it does make a difference in making it through a workday without too much stress. I didn't count on it to be helpful in the falling asleep department. As such, I am giving this mask well-deserved 4 stars and would recommend it to anyone who seeks relaxation first.

[Rewarded Review] Sleep Tight with Therabody
22 September 2024

The Therabody SleepMask is one of those luxury items where you do not know you want/need it until you try it. I have been using a sleep mask for a while now, as I worked night shift on and off, leading to needing a darker sleep experience. With time, this became an object of need for sleep. The Therabody SleepMask is an appreciable upgrade to a normal standard sleep mask. The SleepMask comes in a soft travel pouch, which helps to keep it protected (in my case carried off by a cat). Upon unboxing, it is recommended to wash both the mask and travel pouch prior to use. Washing the SleepMask requires taking the inner layer out. The inner layer is machine washable, to be air dried. Upon unboxing, it is recommended to wash both the mask and travel pouch prior to use. Washing the SleepMask requires taking the inner layer out. The inner layer is machine washable, to be air dried. This is clearly labeled on the mask to avoid any confusion. The outer layer (with the electronics) is able to be cleaned with a lightly dampened cloth using water or an alcohol-based solution. When it comes to being clean upon your face, the inner layer is the important one here. I appreciate that an electronic SleepMask has the option to keep it well cleaned in a washer. The fit of the mask took me a minute. The actual strap is easy to adjust and is adjustable to most head types I would say, my wife has a lot of hair and was able to wear this around it quite easily. My issue was that after putting the inner layer back with the outer layer, if I moved around too much or talked, the padding that goes around the eyes would ride up into my eyes. I was able to adjust this by playing the inner layer ever so slightly down within the outer layer. The adjustment of this has resulted in this issue no longer happening. I am able to sleep through the night without it moving on my face (or the padding into my eye). The SleepMask boasts that it is black out, and I would agree. In a room with the lights still on it fits well and lets virtually no light in. I would absolutely consider it a true black out, and that is important if sleeping during the day. If this sleep mask is worn in a dark room at night, I think it is the blackest black I’ve experienced if my eyes are open under the mask. The Therabody aspect of this mask is the sleep-inducing vibration patterns that have adjustable levels. Turning the mask on is simple, with a long press of the power button on the top of the mask. You are able to press the power button to cycle between 6 different vibration options (pulse, wave or constant at low or high speeds). I have enjoyed the wave setting the most. The mask will function for 15-minutes and auto turn off after this. I typically will fall asleep during this time frame. It tends to work the best/be most comfortable if vibration is occurring while laying on my back; however, I am a side sleeper and are still able to experience the sensation however slightly dampened by the pressure of the side of my face/mask upon the pillow. I have had multiple good night, dark sleeps with this mask. Therabody tends to have luxury relaxation items, being the 4th product by them that I have and I have happy to have experienced this broadening of luxury

[Rewarded Review] Therabody Sleep Mask for Relaxation on the Go
5 October 2024

The Therabody Sleep Mask is a fantastic accessory for anyone looking to fall asleep faster using gentle vibration therapy. It specifically targets the areas around the eyes, temples, and forehead—areas that typically hold the most stress and tension. The science behind it is straightforward yet effective; the vibrations create soothing sensations that naturally relax the body, helping to slow down both heart rate and breathing, making it much easier to drift off into a peaceful sleep. Having tried several other (bulky) eye massaging devices to ease the strain from hours spent at the computer, I can confidently say that this mask stands out as it can work all night just like any other sleep mask. Having tried several other (bulky) eye massaging devices to ease the strain from hours spent at the computer, I can confidently say that this mask stands out as it can work all night just like any other sleep mask. Its compact, travel-friendly design makes it not only great for home use but also an excellent companion on the goFeatures:• Design, Comfort, and Fit: The 100% blackout design blocks out light completely, ensuring uninterrupted sleep. The contoured shape and padding fit comfortably on all face shapes without putting pressure on the eyes or nose, making it perfect for overnight use. It’s lightweight, travel-friendly, and comes with a handy pouch. I particularly like how easy it is to maintain—the inner padding can be removed for cleaning, and I wash it and the pouch every few days while wiping the outer lining with alcohol wipes.• Vibration Therapy: There are three different vibration modes—Pulse, Wave, and Constant. I switch between them depending on how my day went and when I’m using it. It’s also become a go-to item for long flights, helping me recharge by reducing tension after hours of travel.• App: The Therabody app offers a variety of sound therapy routines that can be customized based on individual preferences - Travel/Sleep/Relaxation, Genre, and Time options.Overall, it’s a great sleep-inducing accessory for anyone with a busy lifestyle who’s looking for quick relaxation and a better night’s rest. My only wish is for the battery to last a bit longer. As a daily user, I find myself having to charge it more frequently than I’d like, but that’s a minor trade-off for the benefits it offers
