Outdoors I still got some mosquitoes bites. Not too many, but still. Indoors it's good, as there's no wind. Overall the product is good, but keep in mind that it'll be costly, since you have to keep changing the repellent (the blue tablet on top).

ThermaCELL WORKS! I am a mosquito magnet - you know, that type of person who gets bit constantly and is always flailing their arms and shoeing them away, while everyone else seems to be enjoying their evening outdoors. But I can now sit outside - even at dusk - with the ThermaCELL running nearby and barely any mosquitoes come near me.I don't know what kind of sorcery or magic is used in this thing, but it really works!

Anything that I can do to make my wife more comfortable outdoors so she'll enjoy herself is worth it. And mosquitoes is a big one. I have two of the handheld thermacells so I make two domes overlapping (Venn diagram style), just to be safe! Does the odd one squeak through, yes. But overall the thermacell and refills do their job.

I have used this thermacell product twice. 3 cartridges used and the refill to burn the cartridges is needing to be replaced. The cost to keep replacing the refills and the cartridges is very expensive in the long run. Oh and it does smell and misty smoke comes out. Both of these things were noted that this product doesn't have! It does!!
Been using the Patio Shield(2) for the last couple of years around our patio and firepit. They work fantastic, but be aware of the following:The pads never last the 4 hrs. as claimed. We usually get about 2 to 2 and a half hrs. TOPS. And that is ok by us, because they work so well. Just know the 4hr. claim is a dream, not reality. The fuel cels don't last as long as claimed either, but have decent life, maybe about 6 hrs.?Also note that the range, and effectiveness, of these things are directly related to wind, and distance to the units. Meaning the less wind, and the closer you are to the units, the more effective they are.But overall this product is surprisingly effective. Seems to work, the only problem is the gas does not last very long. I can't understand why you can't refill these canisters like a cigarette lighter. In this modern age of recycling and less waste it is crazy that these plastic things cant be reused. It's all about SELL SELL SELL and then blame the consumer for producing so much waste.
Have continually purchased this product over the years. Like most reviews written, the return on investment to repurchase more adds up. Tip - Placed on a plate or metal tray - I use a fork, which i bend, balanced over something over the candle, the refill mat is then placed in between the fork prongs. Citronella candles in a pack of 20 at Bunnings i find does the exact job as the butane cylinder. I use it this way when the white cylinder butane has run out. Obviously placed too close to candle will burn the mat. Have also used an old metal lantern, candle in the middle, mat sits on top of lantern, does the job perfectly. Mozzie's no more in a 21 sq radius. Will continue to buy and use.
Bought one for use around the pool at night and when we are away on holidays.Turn it on 15mins before to get it running, placed it a metre or 2 away on the ground. no issues, no mossies.Yes, there is an odour, so put it a little bit away. But it does exactly as it says, pleasantly surprised.
Thermacell products are amazing. We purchased 1 unit that worked so well, we bought 6 more. Our group of 20 sit in a circle every night on vacation and none of us spray with bug spray. We are on the bank of a large lake that provides millions of mosquitoes. The units work that good. We put them on the ground between two chairs around our circle. No problems. The reason for 3 stars is there is no longer an option to purchase just mats for original Thermacell units. Your forced to purchase mats and fuel both. Please go back to either option again rather than forc in ng us to spend more money.
These this are AMAZING! We turn it on, 10 minutes before going outside on the deck, no bugs… we’ll, maybe one. SUPER FANTASTIC’ all my friends buy one after sitting at my house. Expensive… but so worth it.We even take it quadding for when we stop in the bush.I HIGHLY recommend it, and no I do not work or am getting paid to write this. This is truly worth the money.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
