Works beautifully! I can install the rack on the hitch receiver in maybe 2-3 min at most. It's on the heavy side but very manageable. It takes another maybe 5 min to get a bike on and even to quicker to remove the bikes. No issues with releasing straps others have mentioned in reviews around the internet. I had an issue with the strap initially but I realized I hadn't installed the strap loop thingy in properly (eg the piece with the hole where the strap is inserted to secure the bike). Once I properly installed the strap loop thingy by pushing it into place, it was VERY EASY to release the strap. I had two bikes on the rack for the first time yesterday. The illustrations were like those from Ikea. I have now had two of these in the past two months. The first one I used less than half a dozen times and the strap snapped up driving on the freeway and I had to pull over so my bike didn’t fall off. I replaced it with a brand new one I’ve used it now about five or six times and today driving along the freeway with a brand new bike that is lightweight, when I got to my destination the strap had once again flipped up and my bike was off the track. So I returned my second one today. The folks at the store said that they have not had any problems with these racks to date. I knew that they weren’t being honest it’s just not possible!

Loose fit

Well, I thought I'd take a chance on this even though there are nothing but terrible reviews online. Ended up just wasting my time. Funny thing is, my issue was not related to the other customers issues. I thought the strap system was fine, will it last forever? No. But they lock in nice and snug and looked like they would no doubt survive at least a few years before needing to possible replace any of them. Spacing was fine, I could adjust the distance between the bikes to make room for two to fit. If your bike has a top tube mounted brake cable it will likely be clamped in an awkward position (not the end of the world).My problem was that the dang rack was loose! Using the 2" hitch adapter that was included, as well as the "anti-sway" bolts. Funny enough, a week after that, I got another email from Thule, thinking it might actually a real person that had an answer to my question, but it was not. It was another automated response telling me someone will message me soon.TL;DR - Buy a different rack, Thule should really just discontinue this model if they hope to keep their reputation of making stellar products.

Nice rack

A sturdy, heavy duty and flexible bike rack. It holds the bikes very securely in place and is easy to install and use. Once bikes are removed it can be easily tilted out of the way to access the rear of my vehicle. The adjustable ratchet straps which hold the bikes in place are stiff and hard to operate when new, but work well, I've learned how to get the angle just right to release them. I also bought the Thule hitch lock to secure the rack to the vehicle which also works well, and prevents the rack being simply unbolted and taken. One improvement would be the addition of a secure loop or eye to use with a bike lock cable or the like - maybe next time. ;-D

Review

I had to replace my Thule helium rack that was stolen. It was a great rack. This rack is low quality by comparison and overpriced. The securing straps are cheap, and theplastic seat tube cradle is flimsy. I expect to need replacement parts in less than a year.

Strap System Not User Friendly

Had it installed today. Got home and could not undo the straps. A very poor design. Took me almost 40 minutes. The representative from my local bike shop helped me install and put the straps on. I reviewed the on-line owners manual when I got home and according to the pictures, we installed them correctly. Trying to push the lever down and push the strap through. I will be returning and looking for an alternative rack.

Terrible design.

I really loved my old Thule so bought this one when I needed a hitch mount. The cradle and strap design are terrible. As a mechanical designer myself, someone should be embarrassed at this engineering. Cradles are to shallow. An hour into a 3 hour drive, I had to stop and put the bike back on the cradles. And this was with it tied down as a safety precaution. The straps are horrendous. There is always one that will take 10 minute to undo. They stretch, they become crooked and when you press down to unlock them, you are folding the strap onto itself making it impossible for it to release. I finally started bending it backwards, knowing full well it will eventually break to get it to release. Thule Camber 4 Bike Rack

Love this bike rack. Fits perfectly on our Tahoe. The assembly and installation was super easy. Great Instructions. Just put our bikes up on them yesterday and we are impressed. We are about to do a road trip next week with the bikes. The bike rack is very sturdy and the ties hold the bike in place very well. Love the fact that the bike rack can fold down so I can open the hitch and not have to remove the bike rack. Very convenient. Overall super thrilled and impressed with the product!

Thule Camber 4 Bike Rack

It was wonderful to put 4 bikes on and finally go ride trails with my kids! Great value for price and easy to use, but I'm going to have to spend more for the bolt that locks the carrier to the hitch receiver, and the cable lock for the bikes.

Would not buy again or recommend anyone else buy one.

Looked good coming out of the box and mounted on the car easy enough......but:- Unlike other Thule racks that I've had (and liked), there are screws holding the cradles in place so they are at fixed distances and can't be moved up and down the bar to increase spacing between the bikes. Result is not being able to get two adult bikes on the rack. Maybe you could do it with two road bikes with straight upper tubes that run parallel to the ground with narrow road handle bars, but couldn't make it work with two mountain bikes.- The cradles are shallow. The one bike I was able to get on was pushed out of one of the cradles by the wind catching one of the tires at 65MPH. I never used anything to supplement keeping the bike secured on either of my two previous Thule racks, but considering the construction of the new straps and the fact that one bike already came off the cradle at highway speeds, if i do use this rack (when I ride solo as I can't get a second bike on it), there will be a cargo strap connecting the bike frame to the rack.Bottom line: Thule came up short on both design and construction on this one. Take a pass on this rack and get a Thule Vertex or Parkway.
