Be aware that it is not stainless steel. It must be washed and dried completely before storing. It is becoming my very favorite knife. It is very easy to manipulate, and is super sharp. I will sharpen it in my 15 degree Chef's Choice XV Trizor Edge electric sharpener when needed.

This is my second Japanese knife from Knifewear and an instant favourite. Wonderfully sharp and agile.I’m just a home cook but I appreciate quality and value. The bolster was a bit rough and sharp but it just took a quick bit of smoothing with some emery cloth to sort it out.I think this has already become my go to knife for everything.

The clerks provided more education about knives than I ever expected to learn, without any pressure to purchase. In fact, even though they preferred the high-end knives themselves (and explained why), once we had a long discussion about what I was looking for and I made it clear I wanted to buy something, they recommended something towards the medium-low end of what they offer. It was the exactly perfect knife I wanted. And it is by far the best knife I have ever bought, by a long shot. I will be back to get another in the series!

Great knife - outstanding quality and great value for the price. Holds its edge well and is properly balanced. The handle is comfortable. I purchased the knife on the website with no problems and received it a few days later.
This is a very nice petty. Fairly thin blade, not too light, comfy handle. Overall I really like the ergonomics and the fit and finish is excellent. The OOTB edge was good enough that, a few weeks in, I have not felt the need to sharpen it. We'll see how that goes.
I’m absolutely happy with what I’ve got. Perfect balance and weight. Handle could be a bit more elegant but it’s super practical. It’s super sharp out of the box and stays sharp with ceramic honing rod.Let’s wait another half a year to see if my opinion changes.
Great versatility and weight. Makes a perfect gift for those who find a gyuto unwieldy. The Tojiro DP line is excellent value.
Bought this Tojiro knive for my girlfriend. She loved the design as I knew she would. Where these really surprise is how well they're crafted and how well they preform. Razor sharp out of the box, beautiful looking knife. Everyone from coworkers to customers has commented on the knife set. Definitely a win.
near a yr now. Missus uses it for 99% of her kitchen work. along with the Santoku Tojiro I bought her.I'm buying a 180 Damamscus 37ply next to compare with my Wusthof 6in chef.they look nice and only a fraction of price of the German blades which have no peer when it comes to heavy work, I find in my novice way.I still find my Mitchel Butchers 10in meatworks knife the safest blade to put near Pumpkins and the like.Big. Solid and hands on both ends, like an axe, it'll cut anything. holds a great edge and cost all of $11 del. Up to $12.50 now.
My Wustof Petty. I bought 45ish yrs ago. Finally worn it down to thickness of blade.I'm buying this on reviews over a coupla yrs. ALL good.As a basic. working laminated blade that won't rust too quickly. My first Japanese Kitchen knife. If it works out better than my Wustof has been as a general. Do All blade. It will be exceptional. The lighter weight in hand will be interesting as all my knives are Wustof and Coupla Mundial.German softer steel. Will take a nice edge but soon wears off. The Mundials b4 the Wustof do.We'll see.
