I bought this for my girlfriend as an upgrade to the soft, no-name budget knives that she had which crushed vegetables more than it cut them. Admittedly, while mostly being user of single-bevel high carbon knives myself, I also use this and another VG-10 blade for casual cooking when I can't be bothered with meticulously drying my high carbon knives immediately after use.As an introductory product for higher quality blades, these are really excellent. That VG-10 stainless core holds a good edge and stays sharp much longer than regular stainless alternatives. Certainly in terms of value, you get 90% of the performance of a high carbon blade, but without the added worries of corrosion and brittleness.

This has been a great way to get my little guy helping in the kitchen while also teaching him blade safety. It’s a little big for his 4 year old hands but he will certainly grow into it. The yellow handle is a plus since everything has to be yellow right now! It’s hard to criticize the cutting edge much given the intention. That said, it could be a little sharper, as my little guy really needed to press on it to get through some ingredients, but a little honing made a world of difference.Overall a great buy!

My nephews love these!!! With solid 110% supervision they are creating away. Hands down the best way to get your kiddos creative with food is have them create their own!!! Buying the kids cut glove is also a must for that little added protection of their tiny paws! Staff is so friggen knowledgeable and kind and helpful.

My son loves this knife, and it's been great teaching him how to use a knife properly.Just yesterday we made sashimi from block of sushi-grade tuna. Knife slid through the fish like a dream.Easy to sharpen given that the blade is mostly straight. My wife and MIL like using this for fruit and other small jobs. It takes a legit edge but is v non-threatening.
I've been using this Santoku knife for about a month now and it's been very sharp since the day I got it. Even with heavy use, it's still holding up pretty well. However, I think it could benefit from a bit of sharpening soon. Overall, I think it's a great knife to have in the kitchen.

This is a great little knife. I bought it for my 8 year old but use it myself. It’s a good size for smaller hands and stays perfectly sharp. The rounded tip also makes it safer while she’s learning the proper skills. Would recommend!
