I received this item from Influenster in exchange for a fair and unbiased review of the product. *So let me start by saying that I am not a professional perfumer - I know everyone has different preferences which makes a person’s review their own experience and not something to be taken personally by anyone other than the reviewer.* Pro #1: As a luxury brand, the packaging, from the textured bronze box to the deep jewel-toned amber bottle, has an uber luxe presentation and feel. Now TOM FORD has always been tantamount in high-end designer class which brings a certain aire of sophistication especially when experiencing one of “his” private collection fragrances. Pro #2: Myrrhe Mystere is VERY gender-neutral due to the vanilla (which smells more like tonka bean to my nose) and sandalwood notes that tame the initial spiciness of resinous myrrh essences. The myrrh gives a very “suede leather” scent which made its masculinity more prevalent upon application. The dry down softened it to a subtly sweet aroma that couldn’t quite be called feminine but resulted in an almost ethereal balance. [My husband is absolutely in LOVE with this fragrance! Resting on his skin, it’s very reminiscent of freshly cut cypress wood dripping with sap and blended with a peppery allspice. Then as it melts into his skin, a slightly powdered musk with that tonka bean.] Con #1: As is true to form, the meager price tag of $395.00 is certainly a hard pill to swallow. Now I’m not saying spending $400+ on a beautiful bottle of boujee alcohol water is the most unscrupulous thing a person could waste money on BUT… IF (and I do mean IF) it were a fragrance of pure ingredients, that’s at least justifiable. Not all luxury products deserve a luxury price tag though. Con #2: There are two (2) defining points of a fragrance - sillage (air drifting) and longevity. Unfortunately, this fragrance ranked low on both. The sillage ranked a 2/10 as its initial spray lingers in the air for about a count of 20 seconds before sitting on the skin for roughly little more than an hour then sinking into the skin for at best, a 2 hour finale resulting in a 2/10 longevity ranking. Scale of 1 to 5, this ranks a 1. I really wish this had even been 3/5 so I could have the luxury of half-pitching this luxury. But $395 for a fragrance that doesn’t last more than a few hours, there are many other higher quality fragrances to choose from and still have money left over.

I received this parfum from Influenster in the exchange of my honest opinion/thoughts. I took quite a while reviewing this fragrance. This fragrance has a deep aroma characterized by amber, woody, and sweet notes. The initial spray is very similar to Èbène Fumé, a rich and alluring fragrance. The dry down softened it to a subtly sweet aroma of incense, which gives it a refined and elegant. Notes of amber, vanilla, sandalwood all plays a role to bring out this musk scent and giving it a more sophisticated and luxurious kind of musk scent. While the myrre note dominates, the sandalwood and warmth are what’s left at the end of the day. Fragrance preferences may vary from person to person. Myrrhe Mystere is considered unisex/gender-neutral, and I would agree with that assessment. While it does favor a more masculine notes, the drydown of vanilla and sandalwood creat a softer scent that makes in more wearable than Èbène Fumé. If you own TF Èbène Fumé, and love it, you don't need Myrrhe Mystere. But if you don't have both of them, consider Myrrhe Mystere a softer scent, and Èbène Fumé as a bit more masculine. If I would chose between Èbène Fumé and Myrrhe Mystere, I would rather buy Myrrhe Mystere. As for wear, It didn't enter a room before I did, didn't linger, and I was still able to smell it on myself at the end of the day. With the iconic luxurious packaging, this would only enhance one's parfum collection. Myrrhe Mystere is great to put on for an evening out or even out on a social gathering. This perfume is the perfect scent for the autumn and winter season.

their are some good things to say about this scent! First off, Im not savvy enough to know what specifically makes the notes etc. so I'll be using general terms. The packaging is luxe looking definitely representative of the scent. The outer packaging is like dark brown faux leather, the bottle is also dark brown, heavy, looks like a Greek or Roman column. You could see it on the shelf of a cigar bar or den! The scent itself is very masculine, very dark some descriptors that immediately come to mind are woodsy, Church incense (no surprise there), leather (as in a sumptuous den chair, not kinky leather 😉), then as it dries down it does get a little sweeter vanilla comes to mind. That being said I have been wearing it since I got it its definitely grown on me, Ive also received a few compliments. Some of the positives are the a VERY LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY I find that the scent lasts a long time that is my biggest pet peeve, annoyance, aggravation with any scent! So many just fade to nothing so quickly, so this is where the 'Tom Ford' brand pricing really come in to play. Something else I wanted to say it didnt occur to me until I saw someone else mention it. The scent itself is a bit 'generic', it's not necessarily a bad thing 🤷🏼♀️ If you said imagine a 40+ year old gentleman's cologne that he would wear to dinner the cigar bar for a Brandy! So just because its not my preference of scent Im not taking any stars for that, scents are way too subjective for that! Im giving 3 stars for a little going a long way, packaging, most of all how long it lasts! Im taking 2 stars because the scent is nothing earth shattering, a bit generic rhe price. *This review is for a product I received from Influenster Tom Ford, but the thoughts opinions expressed are 100% my own after using the product for over 3 weeks🤎

This gets compared to Èbène Fumé in many reviews I’ve read It does check many similar boxes at first blush, but if you spend some time with it, you will appreciate how different it is. Personally, I believe the drydown is what does it for me....and this is after letting it do what it does with my chemistry, starting at the 45 minute mark and then transforms into wonders over the hours. It is very well fine and lovely upon first spray, and 30-45 minutes after, but the REAL magic is in the drydown. This fragrance starts out with a lot of beautiful powdery amber, all spicy and woody, slightly incense, with sandalwood and, of course, the latest buzzword, agarwood aka oud. This fragrance starts out with a lot of beautiful powdery amber, all spicy and woody, slightly incense, with sandalwood and, of course, the latest buzzword, agarwood aka oud. It's also musk and smoke, but not for long. It also starts out like a typical TF frag: noticeable & potent. The elements of myrrh are there; the anise, the exotic resinousness, and some sweetness. If you don't enjoy unisex scents, or are strictly "flowers & fruit" when it comes to your tastes, you won't wear this. I agree that it is a unisex scent, and may skew masc, but that's only within the opening 15 mins of application. After I let it soak up and my body chemistry decides which way we're heading, I appreciate the beauty of this scent and why it actually is a stand out. The myrrh offers some sweetness: vanilla, sarsaparilla, benzoin, and some tonka like notes come and round it out. It's beautifully done. Sillage and longevity make this close to a "skin scent", or at least in my experience, which is VERY RARE for a TF scent, with Lost Cherry being a shining example of this. It is not groundbreaking, and if you are spending the asking price, you likely have something similar, or better. I do think this scent deserves more credit than being a "different version of Ébène Fumé", because it isn't, and they both deserve to be enjoyed and for different reasons. The folks over at Influenster awarded me this fragrance in exchange for this lengthy, but well thought out opinion/review.
I took quite a while reviewing this fragrance, making it my "go to" for nearly 2 weeks before offering up my thoughts, as it seems others were eager to label, even pigeonhole, this fragrance that, I believe, has more to it than meets the, well, senses. Let me start by saying that fragrance is subjective, to both wearer and anyone who has the sense of smell. To make the experience of fragrance even more varied, body chemistry and olfactory memory; each an experience significantly personal and diverse. The "powers that be" at Estee Lauder, err Tom Ford, have been offering up new scents at least once a year (often different editions of an earlier fragrance comes out yearly as well), and I think they may have made a mistake by releasing Myrrhe Mystere to close after ... TF has, somewhat, outdone itself by creating some BEAUTIFUL fragrances that even the MOST distinguished of noses had not quite experienced before, and then crowd their very own brand, and market, with other fragrances that fall under the same category. Tom Ford's Myrrhe Mystère perfume is a fragrance that has truly grown on me over time. Having experienced other Tom Ford fragrances, this one intrigued me with its promise of mystique and allure. Upon receiving the package, I was immediately struck by the elegance of the bottle, which exuded the warm, inviting hues of autumn. At first, I must admit, I was taken aback by the initial spray. The fragrance felt bold and intense. However, as days turned into weeks and I continued to wear Myrrhe Mystère, I started to appreciate its complexity. It's the kind of fragrance that doesn't reveal all its secrets at once. What started as a sandalwood-driven powerhouse slowly transformed, revealing delicate hints of vanilla that would emerge throughout the day. What's most fascinating about Myrrhe Mystère is its ability to leave a lasting impression. The scent lingers on my skin for hours, a constant reminder of its unique character. It's a fragrance that demands patience and an open mind.Interestingly, I noticed that my friends had similar initial reactions. They found it to be a distinct and unconventional scent, much like my own first impression. However, as I continued to wear it around them, it started to grow on them as well. They, too, began to appreciate the depth and uniqueness of Myrrhe Mystère.In conclusion, Tom Ford's Myrrhe Mystère is not your typical fragrance. It's an acquired taste, a journey of discovery. If you're willing to give it time and let it work its magic, you'll find that it has the power to captivate and intrigue. While the initial price might give you pause, the lasting impression and the sheer artistry of this perfume make it a worthwhile investment for those who appreciate fragrances that are anything but ordinary.I received this reduction for free from influenster and Tom Ford in exchange for my honest review.
I received this product for free from Influenster and Tom Ford. Tom Ford's Myrrhe Mystère perfume is definitely more of an olfactory experience than anything else. From the moment I sprayed it on, I was enveloped in a very rich and alluring fragrance that's absolutely perfect for very special occasions or when you want to feel truly exceptional & noticed. At first spray you get hints of woody Amber and bold earthy tones, however the Myrrh is super present along with the vanilla and sandalwood notes. It is very spicy and rich on the skin, but after several hours, once its dried down...it kinda smells like chai tea beacuse of the vanilla and spice that lingers at the end. Personally, I wish it started out that way. Because it is such a weighty fragrance, I think it's ... MoreI received this product for free from Influenster and Tom Ford. Because it is such a weighty fragrance, I think it's just perfect for the fall and winter seasons as it is a truly captivating blend of strength and spice and it's intense aroma leaves a lasting impression, making it ideal for those who appreciate a bold and mysterious fragrance. So if you're looking for a scent that commands attention with its powerful earthy and spicy notes, this is hands down your fragrance. And wow does it last forever!!! Seriously, the longevity of this fragrance is completely out of this world! Definitely the longest lasting scent I have EVER used! Tom Ford definitely did not miss the mark there...I could smell it in my house days after I sprayed it. A draw back for me was that even though it is considered a unisex perfume, this scent leans very masculine in my opinion. It might be nice layered with another scent to try and balance it out, but unfortunately because of how bold and woody this scent is on its own I personally wouldn't gravitate towards it.As for the overall packaging, it just exudes a sense of luxury and exclusivity, which is in line with the brand's positioning in the high-end fragrance market. Like I said in the beginning, It's not just a fragrance; it's an experience! From the moment you see the gorgeous box to the moment you hold the beautifully designed bottle in your hand. The bottle itself is a luxe, brown iteration of the iconic Private Blend bottle. Finished with a gorgeous brown plaque. A beautifully extravagant addition to anyone's vanity or grooming area, not to mention what a lovely gift this would make.

Notes of amber, vanilla, sandalwood all play a role to bring out this musk scent, giving it a more sophisticated and luxurious kind of musk scent. While the myrre note dominates, the sandalwood and warmth are what’s left at the end of the day. Fragrance preferences may vary from person to person. Myrrhe Mystere is considered unisex/gender-neutral, and I would agree with that ... MoreI received this parfum from Influenster in the exchange of my honest opinion/thoughts. While the myrre note dominates, the sandalwood and warmth are what’s left at the end of the day. Fragrance preferences may vary from person to person. Myrrhe Mystere is considered unisex/gender-neutral, and I would agree with that assessment. While it does favor a more masculine notes, the dry down of vanilla and sandalwood create a softer scent that makes in more wearable than Èbène Fumé.
